The ladies’ discography features a slew of self-empowerment anthems, but 2NE1 delved into a completely new topic for their 2012 single; love. Each member sounds completely in her element in the atypically structured half-melancholy, half-euphoric track where the biggest moment doesn’t come until the very last section.

Check out the other songs that made it to the top 20 below!

Feature: 2NE1 And Big Bang Included In MTV Style’s ‘Best Band Style of 2012’

Best Band Style Of 2012

And just like that, we’re officially one week into December and THAT much closer to the end of the year. While we countdown to new beginnings and fresh starts in 2013, we’re recapping our favorite style moments from 2012. We’re hitting all the important areas we can before our speakers start playing Auld Lang Syne. From celebrity nail art to magazine covers, Instagram selfies to facial hair and everything in between!

It’s one thing for individuals to have exemplary style. (*ACHEM* If you haven’t voted in ourReaders’ Choice: Best Dressed of 2012 poll yet, you should probably do that!) But it’s another thing entirely for a band (of multiple people!) to pull off individual outfits but still look cohesive. With the epic resurgence of boy bands (thanks, One Direction and The Wanted!) and plenty of OG comeback stories, the well-dressed ensemble group was not that rare a thing this year. Thus, we bring you the best band style of 2012.

2NE1

2ne1-band-style

K Pop had a GIGANTIC year in 2012, partly because of “Gangnam Style” and partly because the genre is CHOCK FULL of boy bands and girl groups. MTV Style has a soft spot for 2NE1 thanks to their propensity for all things bold and colorful and their enviable closeness with Jeremy Scott.

In the second fancam, we could  actually see her laughing. If I remember it right, this was the part when Tabi swayed his hips and walked like a girl along with the other female dancers. Haha. ChoomTop!

News: YG’s Artists Caught In “Rush Hour” Traffic

YG’s Artists Caught In “Rush Hour” Traffic

Right now, it’s “YG War.”

After Psy achieved global success with “Gangnam Style,” Big Bang’G-Dragon quickly followed suit. On September 15, he released his solo mini-album “One of A Kind” with the title track “Crayon.” Even though he didn’t actively promote his title track, it still hogged the spotlight for a good time during the peak of his promotion period.

Epik High is next on the promotion list to the delight of fans who have patiently waited for more than 3 years for new material. They have just released the song “It’s Cold” featuring labelmate Lee Ha Yi ahead of their album release on October 19. The song has achieved “all-kill” status continuing the popularity of the other YG artists. Next up is none other than the not-really rookie Lee Ha Yi who is most known as the runner up for the highly competitive and popular SBS’s “K-Pop Star.” She will make her official debut on October 29.

A small disclaimer, but the following order on the promotion roster is a rumor. SuPearls (consisting of other contestants of “K-Pop Star” Lee MichelleLee Jung MiLee Seung Joo and also Lee Ha Yi), a group originally planning to make their debut in September, was pushed back by the unexpected popularity of Psy’s “Gangnam Style.”

In November, 2NE1 and Big Bang’s Taeyang are planning to release new material. 2NE1 has already released their single “I Love You” in July and have proved their undying popularity. They’re aiming for a full-length album this time around. There’s much expectations for Taeyang, who experienced much success with his previous solo songs like “Look Only At Me” and “Wedding Dress.”

Dubbed as “YG’s Girls’ Generation,” the girl group was also originally supposed to debut simultaneously with SuPearls. They have now been pushed back to January 2013.

An industry official commented, “YG Entertainment started this year with Se7en and if we had to use baseball as an analogy for YG this year, they hit a homerun. There’s no strike. It’s highly likely that “YG Rush Hour” will last til the end of this year. If Psy’s ‘Gangnam Style’ continues to stay addictingly popular, there’s no telling how the traffic will ease up. It’s normal for entertainment companies to not expect any security, but YG Entertainment is doing beyond well. “
