The Secret is Out! Sandara Park Joins #TeamPenshoppe
Read on as the Korean pop star answers our questions in Filipino!

Last month, fans were thrilled to find out that Sandara Park was in Manila for a brief period – thanks to her Instagram account where the Korean pop star chronicled her activities. Little did they kow that she was here to to do a photo shoot with Penshoppe to join Mario Maurer, Kendall Jenner, Cara Delevingne and Sean O’Pry as the new face of the brand.
Style Bible visited her during the said photo shoot shot by Cliff Watts (He shot Cara’s and Sean’s Penshoppe campaigns, too, and flew in from New York for Sandara’s.) Wearing a knit vest, a white button-down with Peter Pan collar, skinny jeans, a fedora hat and a pair of oxfords, she gamely answered our questions – in fluent Filipino, by the way. Read on!
STYLE BIBLE: Tell me about your outfit today.
DARA PARK: This look is very Sandara Park – from head to toe. Lahat basic items lang in black and white. Meron pants kanina from the photo shoot na super gusto ko. It’s very hip, very Dara from 2NE1. (This look is very Sandara Park – from head to toe. All basic items in black and white. There are pants from the photoshoot earlier that I super like. It’s very hip, very Dara from 2NE1.)
SB: Do you have a uniform at the moment?
DP: Yes, meron! Usually, t-shirt and jeans, flats and a hat. Ito yung lagi kong sinusuot since two years ago. I have a lot of fedora hats. Ang dami ko din jeans. Favorite ko yung skinny jeans. And gusto ko ngayon yung rolled up jeans. (Yes, there is! Usually, t-shirt and jeans, flats and a hat. This is what I often wear, since two years ago. I have a lot of fedora hats. I also have a lot of jeans. Skinny jeans are my favorite. Now, I’m into rolled up jeans.)
SB: When it comes to dressing up, what’s your favorite season?
DP: Winter, definitely. Mas madaming choices. Pag summer you can only choose to wear one or two kasi mainit. Sa winter, pwede mag-layer. (Winter, definitely. There are more choices. During summer, you can only choose to wear one or two because it’s so hot. During winter, layering is possible)
SB: Is there any item in your closet that you couldn’t seem to let go of – even if it’s old and worn out already?
DP: Yung mga sneakers ko. Kahit di ko na sinusuot yung iba parang di ko kaya itapon. Madumi na pero nandyan pa din sila. I just like seeing them there. They’re like my babies. I have a room full of sneakers only, separate pa from the clothes. Every time I see something cute, I buy. I couldn’t stop myself. (My sneakers. Even if I don’t wear the others, I still don’t throw them out. Some are dirty already, but they’re still there. I just like seeing them there. They’re like my babies. I have a room full of sneakers only, separate from the clothes. Every time I see something cute, I buy. I couldn’t stop myself.)
SB: How about high heels?
DP: Actually, I don’t wear heels. Only pag may event. Sneakers ako palagi. All kinds of sneakers. (Actually, I don’t wear heels. Only if there are events. I swear sneakers all the time. All kinds of sneakers. )

SB: How big is your closet?
DP: Super big. I keep adding closets every year but kulang pa din. Pag wala ako magawa, I just shop. So somebody has to stop me! I love shopping! (Super big. I keep adding closets every year, but they’re still not enough. If I’m not doing anything, I just shop. So somebody has to stop me! I love shopping! )
SB: How do you organize your clothes?
DP: By style. Pero after a while, hindi na siya organized. (Laughs) Ang hirap mag-organize ng damit, lalo na pag ang dami-dami na. I keep adding and adding clothes. Yung iba binibigay ko sa friends ko but I usually keep my clothes for sentimental reasons. Madaming memories yon. (By style. But after a while, they aren’t organized anymore. (Laughs) It’s so hard to organize clothes, especially if there are so many already. I keep adding and adding clothes. I give some away to my friends, but I usually keep my clothes for sentimental reasons. So many memories.)

SB: You tour a lot, you travel a lot – what do you usually wear on the plane?
DP: Depends, pag malapit lang, pag one or two hours lang, I wear anything – kahit heels, skirt. Pero pag malayo, jogging pants. I prefer loose tops – parang boyfriend shirts. (Depends, if it’s just nearby, say one or two hours, I wear anything – even heels, skirt. But if it’s already far off, jogging pants. I prefer loose tops – like boyfriend shirts.)
SB: Are you a light packer?
DP: Hindi! (Laughs) Like this time, I brought three luggages – yung pinakamalaki na luggages. Kaya lagi ako may excess baggage. For example, if I travel for a week, yung dinadala ko for one month. So ang dami ko talagang dalang clothes, shoes, hats, sunglasses. I have my shampoo, body scrub, lotion, hair blower, hair iron – lahat. (No! (Laughs) Like this time, I brought three luggages – the biggest luggages. That’s why I always have excess baggage. For example, if I travel for a week, I bring enough for one month. So I really bring a lot of clothes, shoes, hats, sunglasses. I have my shampoo, body scrub, lotion, hair blower, hair iron – everything.)
SB: How many outfit changes do you do on a regular day?
DP: Usually, three. Depends on where I’m going. Like yesterday, I went to Greenbelt, eh mainit, so nagpalit ako. (Usually, three. Depends on where I’m going. Like yesterday, I went to Greenbelt and it was really hot, so I changed.)

SB: Have you ever had a wardrobe malfunction on stage?
DP: Many times. Pero di naman scandalous. Minsan yung shoes ko natatanggal kasi yung dance steps namin sobrang wild. Minsan natatanggal yung heels, but I just pretend nothing happened. I continue dancing. (Many times. But nothing scandalous. Sometimes, my shoes fly off because our dance steps were really wild. Sometimes, the heels fall off, but I just pretend nothing happened. I continue dancing.)
SB: What’s your fashion motto?
DP: Just be yourself and be confident.
