There’s already been a lot of news and articles about THE PARTY. But, let me just join in and share a little teeny bit of insight about THE concert. Now that I’m a little saner and calmer, and a little more rested, let’s have a recap of the awesome! awesome! awesome! and highly successful 2NE1 Concert, The Party held at the Big Dome! 🙂
First off… I agree to the nth power (…to infinity and beyond!) that The Party is one of the most successful concerts of 2011! 2NE1 truly rocked the Big Dome! It was definitely a SUCCESS! No doubt about it.
The Big Dome: Araneta Coliseum
Before I go into my babbling, for the sake of the uninitiated, let’s talk first about how epic the Big Dome is for a performer. Araneta Coliseum is the biggest concert venue in the Philippines and only a few big stars are able to hold their own in Araneta. I think every Filipino performer has dreamed at least once of performing in Araneta. It is THE venue to perform at. Holding a concert in Araneta is short of saying… yes, you’ve finally made it!

Finally, 2NE1 has arrived in Manila! ❤ We were part of the welcoming crowd at the airport and the enthusiasm and excitement was almost tangible! It was fun waiting and bumping into Filipino Blackjacks from all over the Philippines. Apart from Manila-based friends, we were also with friends from Davao, Laguna, Gen San, Cebu and others. Initially the starting crowd was approximately 200 and after sometime, the crowd thickened, the crowd ballooning to about 300 people, that included the heavy security. When their van passed through the crowd, everyone went wild shouting and screaming for 2NE1! It was a happy chaos! Happee Sy who was seated in front of the van, waved to the fans and to everyone’s surprise, the van stopped for a moment in front of the crowd and they slightly opened the door, giving us a glimpse of the girls. It was a crazy moment. There were also camera men from MYX and from different stations at the airport. It feels so surreal! 2NE1’s finally here! and Sandara Park is back! ^^
Check out pictures below of 2NE1’s arrival at the airport and their rehearsal pics at Araneta. 🙂

Excerpts taken from the article above [with translations]:
But for a pure Korean who is now based in the Philippines, Jenny, or Jin Sol Kim considers Sandara Park, now known worldwide as the member of Korean pop girl group 2NE1, as a huge inspiration. “Natutuwa ako kapag napapanood ko siya. [I feel happy whenever I get to watch/see her] I feel proud to be a Korean and also to be here sa [in the] Philippines. Nasa Korea na si Sandara [Sandara is already in Korea] and she’s making people there very happy but at the same time pati ‘yung mga Filipino dito at ‘yung ibang Korean na nandito na proud din sa success niya. [… both Filipinos and Koreans here are also proud of her success.] Sana ma meet ko siya one day.” [I hope to meet her someday]
Sandara and her Korean family had been living in the Philippines for some time when she joined the reality search Star Circle Quest in 2004. Though she only finished as a runner-up in the competition, Sandara managed to enjoy a successful career in showbiz, doing teleseryes and movies. A couple of years later, she and her family decided to go back to Korea where she became part of 2NE1. Her singing and dancing training in ABS-CBN became her edge to establish a career in Korea.

Thanks to zaizai and contessa for the tip 🙂
I agree with some of your comments but let’s refrain from bashing, please. I also don’t agree with some statements in the article (by abs-cbn.com) but those are all in the past now. Let’s just focus on the fact that Dara is an inspiration. 🙂 Peace and love y’all. <333
