On August 6, the launching show ‘2014 S/S GRAND LAUNCH‘ for WINNER’s debut album took place at the Grand Ballroom at the Conrad Seoul Hotel where Yang Hyun Suk spoke about his future plans for the group in front of the media.
He said, “Kang Seung Yoon appeared on MBC sitcom ‘High Kick 3,’ and I thought he was good at acting. Honestly, I think YG is branded as a company that is immensely tight fisted when it comes to variety programs. There was that tendency in the cases of Big Bang and 2NE1.
As Park Bom appeared in SBS‘s ‘Roommate,’ Yang Hyun Suk was asked, “Did Park Bom appear on variety because she personally wanted to?”
Yang Hyun Suk replied, “In Park Bom’s case, she was someone who was very funny in the reality program ‘2NE1 TV.’ Park Bom and Dara always expressed their wish to go on a lot of variety shows. I think that’s how she came to be on a program in which the camera follows her around. Dara says she wants to go on a lot of variety shows, but in my opinion, Dara isn’t that funny.”

YG FAMILY LANDS ON SHANGHAI, CHINA… IN COOPERATION WITH SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS
[OSEN=이혜린 기자] YG Family is landing on Shanghai, China.
YG Entertainment (“YG”) cooperates with Samsung Electronics to hold “YG Family 2014 Galaxy Tour: Power in Shanghai” in Shanghai, China, on August 30.
YG will present world-star PSY and BIGBANG on the stage of the Shanghai concert. BIGBANG has recently established its position as a globally-popular boy group both in name and substance, by drawing as many as 800,000 people to their world tour.
Epik High will also perform in the concert. Epik High’s “With You” featured by China’s top female singer BiBi Zhou was released in May this year and since then, the song has been enjoying a big popularity in China, taking the No.1 on the new songs chart of China’s Youku as well as on the weekly music chart of Weibo. Plus, 2NE1 will also appear in the concert, while meeting their fans worldwide recently in their second world tour, which is the first-ever case in the history of Korean girl groups.
WINNER, a boy group which has drawn a big attention as YG’s new boy group in eight years, will perform in the Shanghai concert, too.
Starting from Shanghai, Samsung electronics will support YG Family concert that will be held in other regions of China and Southeast Asian countries. A special event with 2NE1 is now being planned for Myanmar and Vietnamese fans.
Samsung will support local PR and marketing for the success of the YG tour, while presenting a new concept of performance through encounter between artists and cutting-edge products including latest smart phone “Galaxy S5”, wearable gear “Samsung Gear Series”, and premium audio product “Level”.
YG Family concerts that were held on April 12 and 13 at Osaka Kyocera Dome and on May 3 and 4 at Tokyo Dome were successfully rounded off with a big number of audience. On August 15 this year, YG Family will meet Korean fans in “AIA REAL LIFE NOW FESTIVAL” that will be held at Jamsil Sports Complex located in Seoul.
