Screencap: Dara and Super Junior’s Donghae Follow Each Other on Instagram

A while back, Dara tweeted a photo of her and Donghae saying that they have been friends for 10 years already. Donghae also shared that he and Dara have been friends since his high school days. While most celebrities readily broadcast their friendships left and right, it’s amazing how these two have kept their friendship silent for so long already. 

Recently during Super Junior’s Super Show 6 which was their 100th world tour concert, Donghae mentioned that he invited Dara to their concert. After which, Dara started following him on instagram. Now, Donghae has followed back. ^_^

Here’s to 10 years of friendship!

“Super Show 6” Super Junior, Introduces Singers in Attendance… Max Changmin · Sandara Park “Glamorous”

Super Junior’s “Super Show 6,” attracted a great attendance, including fellow singers, Max Changmin and Sandara Park.

On the 21st, Super Junior presented a hot stage to their fans with the start of their world tour concert, “Super Show 6” live at Jamsil Gymnasium, Seoul.

Leeteuk said, “Recently, I heard that Shindong has chosen to sing a ballad while I was away.” He then took notice of the banners that some fans had held up. He particularly pointed out the fan-made banners that said, “Donghee, I Love You,” on it.

Shindong said, “The feeling of the concert today is really good, it feels like this would be the same atmosphere as our 100th concert,” he added, “Before coming here, I heard that news that we won first place in SBS Inkigayo, I’m really touched.”

Leeteuk remarked, “From Friday until Sunday, a lot of our friends came. Last Friday, Bestie came along with a number of people, yesterday SHINEE’s Minho and f(x)’s Amber and Victoria came as well,” he said with gratitude.

“I wonder who came today?” asked Leeteuk, to which Kyuhyun mentioned he invited TVXQ’s Max Changmin, Eunhyuk mentioned Girl’s Day MinAh and Nine Muses’ Hyemi, Hyuna, Donghae mentioned 2NE1’s Sandara Park, while Ryuwook mentioned Infinite and Dal Shabet.

Breaking News: Sandara Park, Sung Si Kyung and Heechul to MC for the 2013 SBS Gayo Daejun

Bringing a close to 2013, Sung Si Kyung, 2NE1’s Sandara Park, and Super Junior’s Heechul will be showcasing their MCing abilities at the 2013 SBS Gayo Awards.

On December 18, SBS announced the three singers as the hosts for this year’s music festivities. While it’s a rare occasion that all three MCs are singers, Sung Si Kyung and Heechul have proven their hosting abilities through several variety programs, such as 1 Night 2 Days, Witch Hunt, and Ssulzun.

This will be Sandara Park’s first time hosting an award show, but with her bright personality, she is expected to mingle well with the other MCs.

The 2013 SBS Gayo Awards will take place on December 29.

I am just happy that Dara is extending her wings and following people outside of YG Family. ^.^ Of course, it’s awesome that we know that she is close with her YG Family members, but I am also glad that she’s following people from SM. Donghae is the second idol from SM that she followed after SHINee’s Onew. ^^

Goodies: TVXQ and Super Junior Watching 2NE1’s Performance at SBS Gayo Daejun (Fancams)

Battling with myself if I should post this, but in the end decided to post. Keke! ^^ The guys looks so cute enjoying 2NE1’s performance. Yunho seems to know the lyrics very well as he was singing  along to the girls. Even clapping his hands to the rhythm. ^^

Super Junior on the other hand seems to be very focused in the performance. Siwon was like a CEO monitoring his artists. Kekeke~ And Eunhyuk seems to be having fun too! Look at them whispering to each other, while watching the girls, like a bunch of high school boys. Kekeke~ ^^

Being a Korean idol is difficult, but being part of a Korean idol group is even harder.

Korean idol groups can no longer be contented with just performing on stage. There’s a rising trend with a need for them to branch out in other areas, not only to make a name for their group, but also to let the audience get to know them individually — especially for those in big groups like Super Junior and ZE:A.

In recent years, Koreans coined the word ‘variety-dol’ to describe idols well-received on variety programmes because of their personalities, silver tongues or comedic timing.

The first few idols to be crowned ‘variety-dols’ were probably the members of legendary group Shinhwa, who dominated old-time variety shows such as X-Man where they showed TV audiences another side of themselves. Beast’s Yoseob was even quoted as saying, ‘Shinhwa members are variety-dols’ ‘textbooks’.’

Variety Programmes: 2NE1 TV, Strong Heart

Girl group 2NE1 is a rare sight on variety programmes, so when Dara and Bom first went onto talk show Strong Heart, fans were in for a treat.

Dara was pretty nervous when she was sharing her story then, but her confidence quickly grew as time went by. She even admitted that she had taken variety classes from senior Seungri (Big Bang) to prepare herself the night before.

The 28-year-old then told a funny story of how Taeyang (Big Bang) grabbed her neck and twirled her on the ground with a straight face and even added her own sound effects, causing the entire studio of guest stars to cackle along.

On 2NE1‘s own reality TV 2NE1 TV, Dara may be the group’s ‘visual’, but she sure didn’t mind showing her goofy side. With her years of experience in showbiz (Dara was previously a star when she lived in the Philippines), we say, give the girl more chances on variety programmes, she will do a fine job!
