[OSEN=Park Hyun Min] A girl group 2NE1’s regular 2nd album ‘CRUSH’ is going to be released in Korean lyrics in Japan on 19th.

2NE1 have been releasing the songs that they released in Japan by changing the lyrics into Japanese so far, but they decided to release this album in Korean lyrics.

In regards to this, the associate of an agency YG Entertainment said “Among the associates in Japan who listened to Korean album, the reactions towards the original song were good so we decided to release it the way it is” and conveyed.

2NE1 successfully finished the world tour Seoul concert ‘ALL OR NOTHING’ that took place at Olympics Park SK Olympics Handball Stadium in Bangee-dong, Seoul on March 1st and 2nd and plans to continue that heat in Japan also. Especially in Japan, they are planning to hold the world tour at Yokohama Arena on July 5th~6th and at Kobe World Memorial Hall on 12th~13th.

Video: 2NE1 Reveal their “Crush” to Associated Press ~ “It’s a Big Turning Point for Us, as 2NE1”

Nice interview! ^^ Leadah CL-roo steps up during English interviews, and I like how she speaks for 2NE1 as a group. “We prepared for a very long time, so it’s definitely a big turning point for us, as 2NE1, and we have all kinds of song in there: we sing, rap, goes from hip-hop to electro to RnB to everything. If you just check it out, if you just hear it, listen to it, you’ll know it.” And yes CL, we really do love the album, even at first listen! ^_^ “I think it’s been two years since our last tour. We didn’t have our album out, but we still went on tour. And we’re all about having fun, and when we’re on tour we love to meet our fans from all around the world, because we stay in Korea most of the time, so that’s what we want to do.” Hooray for more countries to meet new fans! More countries please, YG! ❤ And how cute is Dara’s soft and sweet “I love you” in the end? ❤

MTV Buzzworthy: 2NE1 Take Down Dystopia, Get Animated In The ‘Come Back Home’ + ‘Happy’ Videos

2NE1 Take Down Dystopia, Get Animated In The ‘Come Back Home’ + ‘Happy’ Videos

2ne1-come-back-home-video

We’re obviously beyond thrilled that 2NE1 have come back home.

Congratulations, everyone! It appears as if we’ve survived the K-Pop-pocalypse. You know, how two of South Korea’s girl-group titans, 2NE1 and Girls’ Generation, both planned to release new music and videos in late-February/early-March? C’mon, do you even read the news??

Well, now that 2NE1 have seen GG’s “Mr.Mr.” wager and raised them two new videos for the Crush tracks “Come Back Home” and “Happy,” it appears as if the dust has settled for the time being, and we can finally breathe. Oh wait, except we can’t, because the clips have snatched our lungs, hearts, kidneys, and every other organ we need to function.

In the aptly titled “Come Back Home,” we see Minzy, Bom, CL, and Dara channeling a little bit of everything from the dystopian lit canon: “1984,” “Brave New World,” Beyoncé’s “Superpower” video, etc.

Much like the track itself, which switches from “Man Down” to “The Baddest Female” and back, the visual’s a total mindf*** — and we mean that in the best way possible, obvs.

2ne1-happy-video

“Happy” is like endorphins in music video form.

Happy,” meanwhile, goes straight for your pleasure centers, pairing 2NE1 with some adorably emotive animation. As the video progresses, the hand-drawn bells and whistles increase until you begin to question whether 2NE1 doesn’t actually live in a half-animated paradise 24/7. (They don’t, FYI. Actually, we’ll get back to you.)

These two offerings kind of encapsulate everything that 2NE1 does best: playing with hard and soft and fusing polished K-Pop production with unexpected genres from across the globe. Needless to say, we’re (still) crushing hard.

MTV Buzzworthy: Tove Lo, 2NE1, Christina Perri + More: 5 Must-Hear Pop Songs Of The Week

It’s Tuesday! Time for another round of “5 Must-Hear Pop Songs of the Week!”
This week’s roundup features some amazing Swede-pop, K-Pop kweens dominating the South Korean scene, and a Top 40 pop smash that never was, courtesy of a newly emancipated singer-songwriter with plenty still to offer.

2.) 2NE1, “Crush”

After their fellow K-Pop krew Girls’ Generation debuted their brand new EP, Mr.Mr., last week (NO FIGHTING, FANBASES), the fashion-forward, futuristic South Korean sensations known as 2NE1 have returned to do the same with Crush, their second studio album.

In usual form, the album’s a genre-twisting blur of electro-pop and R&B gems, kicking off with the wickedly fierce “Crush.” The searing electronic brag attack is a major comeback statement: “They love me ’cause I’m hot, they love me ’cause I’m cold/They love me ’cause I’m real, they love me ’cause I kill!” the “Come Back Home” singers confidently speak-sing above the nasty synth pulse and a big fat bass. Um, you want a piece of ‘em?

News: US Fuse TV Spotlights 2NE1 ~ “Cannot Help Loving Them”

US Fuse TV Spotlights 2NE1 ~ “Cannot Help Loving Them”

201402270812210410_1

[OSEN=Kim Gyeongju] US FUSE TV made headlines of 2NE1’s recently released regular 2nd album.

In last 27, FUSE TV generally introduced 2NE1’s second album ‘CRUSH’ and analyzed 2NE1’s 9 strengths.

FUSE TV introduced 2NE1 as “it has contributed to raise K-pop’s international status and had successfully completed its world tour as the first Korean girl group, and worked with Will.i.am, having 6.4 millions of facebook followers and 2.1 million You tube subscribers. The TV described its new album ‘CRUSH’, “Final master piece of new challenge and experiment”.

First reason why people have to love ‘CRUSH’ is ‘Returning to Their Roots’. Most listeners’ introduction to 2NE1 comes via the ferocious “I Am the Best,” arguably their signature tune. From the first notes of album opener “Crush,” it’s clear that the girls are back. While the quartet played around with reggae pop and acoustic ballads in past singles like “Falling in Love”, this feels like the statement 2NE1 needed to truly make a comeback.

The second reason is ‘Reggae/Trap Hybrid Lead Single “Come Back Home”.’ Crush’s lead single “Come Back Home” mashes two seemingly disparate genres and makes them into one smokin’ single. Starting with a bouncy beat, the girls croon about losing a lover, asking their baby to “come back home” until the single’s production flips into a heavy trap beat. The ambitious song should stand up well next to past 2NE1 singles.

The third reason is ‘We’re Getting Four Music Videos!!!’ and fourth is “Potential to Sell A Lot”. FUSE TV said, “As one of the top K-pop acts to make moves Stateside, Crush raced into the Top 10 of the iTunes Albums chart despite no American promo. Still, with four music videos already planned, the LP could be a steady-seller versus falling off the chart after one week.”

There are also others reasons: “2NE1 manage to convey heart-wrenching concepts without throwing their feel-good vibe out the window,” and “Both “Good to You” and “Baby I Miss You” prove that the quartet can deliver clean, crisp vocals on top of soothing piano beats. The latter boasts a synthy lounge vibe with a notable verse from CL, whose flow is right on point.” Also “Scream” actually ended up fiercer with this K-pop rendition. “Come Back Home (Unplugged Version)” puts a much-welcome spotlight.

Starting from March of 1 to 2, 2NE1 will firstly deliver its performance in second world tour ‘ALL OR NOTHING’ held in Olympic Park SK Olympic handball stadium.

FUSE TV’S FEATURE STORY: “REASONS TO LOVE 2NE1”

201402270812210410_1

[OSEN=김경주 기자] America’s FUSE TV extensively spotlighted 2NE1 and their recently unveiled 2nd full album.

FUSE TV introduced the new album CRUSH on Feb 27, under the title “9 reasons to love” the album.

It read, “K-pop girl group 2NE1 are one of the driving forces in K-pop’s international expansion. The quartet was the first Korean female group to stage a world tour, will.i.am snagged them for his #willpower LP, they have 6.4 million Facebook likes and 2.1 million YouTube subscribers.”

The first reason was “Returning to Their Roots.” It wrote, “Most listeners’ introduction to 2NE1 comes via the ferocious “I AM THE BEST,” arguably their signature tune. From the first notes of album opener “CRUSH,” it’s clear that the girls are back.”

The second reason was “Reggae/Trap Hybrid Lead Single ‘COME BACK HOME”: “CRUSH’s lead single “COME BACK HOME” mashes two seemingly disparate genres and makes them into one smokin’ single. The ambitious song should stand up well next to past 2NE1 singles.”

The third was “We’re Getting Four Music Videos!!!”, while the following was “Potential to Sell A Lot.” It wrote, “As one of the top K-pop acts to make moves Stateside, CRUSH raced into the Top 10 of the iTunes Albums chart despite no American promo. Plus “COME BACK HOME,” “CRUSH” and “MTBD” are all climbing up the iTunes Pop Songs chart… Still, with four music videos already planned, the LP could be a steady-seller versus falling off the chart after one week.”

The following reasons were: “Tug at Your Heartstrings, But Throw Your Hands Up,” “Hello R&B!” “CL the Soloist Truly Arrives on ‘MTBD’,” “SCREAM” in Korean “COME BACK HOME (Unplugged Version)” to Close the Album.”

On March 1 and 2, 2NE1 will be performing the new songs for the first time as part of their 2nd World Tour “ALL OR NOTHING” at Seoul Olympic Park SK Handball Arena.

Article/Feature: Editor’s Pick – “2NE1 Unveil New Smooth R&B Sound On ‘Crush’ With The CL-Composed ‘Baby I Miss You'”

2NE1 Unveil New Smooth R&B Sound On ‘Crush’ With The CL-Composed ‘Baby I Miss You’

Bhak-UXCQAAmAQX

For anyone familiar with the music of 2NE1, the words “mellow” or “smooth jam” aren’t usually the first words you think of.

That’s not to say they don’t have slow songs. The four-member girl group may have more ballads then they have dance singles.

But 2NE1 didn’t build their international army of devoted fan with slow jams.

They did with their fire, their flare for the dramatic and their impressive vocal ability.

Much like how Mariah Carey did her most listenable music at the end of the 1990s Jay-Z collaboration “Heartbreaker” after she had sung every pitch the human voice was capable of, 2NE1 seems to have crossed over into a new sonic zone.

And the slow jam suits them.

And though there are plenty of the group’s trademark fireworks on “Crush,” the group’s second full-length album, released on Thursday, (including those in the album’s title-track) the standout song would have to be the mellow but not melodramatic “Baby I Miss You.”

The song has a strong beat that will doubtlessly make heads bop, but there is something more underneath it.

With a somber retro keyboard sound that manages to have shades of 1970s groovy instrumentals by artists like Bob James along with the sound of 1990s R&B dance ballads like “Creep” by TLC, there is an understated emotion in “Baby I Miss You” that is quite powerful.

Like any great dish, music is all about the ingredients and 2NE1 and producer Teddy Park use some excellently selected grooves and styles to create something quite new and exciting for the group.

A lot of the credit should go to the group’s frontwoman CL, who stepped up and wrote three songs for “Crush.”

And considering Teddy claims CL has at least another 17 songs already waiting, this is a very promising new direction for 2NE1.

It’s been six years since the group debuted in a cellphone commercial with Big Bang. But one gets the feeling they are just getting started.

News: 2NE1 is Creating Borderless Sensation.. Sweeping No. 1 Places in 9 iTunes Charts of 7 Countries

2NE1 IS CREATING BORDERLESS SENSATION… SWEEPING NO.1 PLACES IN 9 ITUNES CHARTS OF 7 COUNTRIES

201402270812210410_1

[뉴스엔 황혜진 기자] 2NE1’s second regular album “CRUSH” is creating a tremendous sensation for two days in a row, sweeping top places in music charts in and out of the country.

As of February 28 at 8am, 2NE1’s “COME BACK HOME” is ranked in the No.1 place on the real-time chart of Melon, Olleh Music, Bugs, Mnet, Soribada, Daum Music, and Genie, while “GOTTA BE YOU” is in the first place in the chart of Monkey3 and Naver Music. As such, 2NE1 is demonstrating an extraordinary popularity with their new songs placed in the No.1 place in total nine music charts.

2NE1’s new album is also No.1 in the iTunes album chart of seven countries: Brunei, Finland, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Hong Kong.

2NE1’s new album is released four years after their first regular album. Not only the title tracks but also all the songs in the new regular album were complimented by YG’s head producer Yang Hyun Suk to be the best-ever. And actually, the songs are receiving a rave review, as proven by nine of them still being ranked in top 10 places in real-time music charts.

2NE1’s new album is also recognized for a rediscovery of leader CL’s talent. CL composed and wrote the lyrics of total three songs, “CRUSH”, “GOTTA BE YOU”, and “BABY I MISS YOU” jointly with other producers and wrote the lyrics of her solo track “MTBD”. CL exerted her talent as a singer-songwriter by composing three songs and writing the lyrics of five songs among total 10 songs in the new album.

The songs that CL composed and wrote the lyrics for are enjoying a great popularity, which leads to recognition of CL’s big potential for further growth as a versatile artist.

Meanwhile, 2NE1 will disclose the performance of the songs in their second regular album for the first time, on the stage of the Seoul concert of their second world tour “ALL OR NOTHING”, which will be held on March 1 and 2 at Olympic Park SK Handball Hall located in Songpa-gu, Seoul. The off-line album will be released on March 7.
