2NE1 revealed their affection for their company’s junior, WINNER.
2NE1 (CL, Park Bom, Sandara Park, Gong Minji) mentioned YG’s new rookie group, WINNER (Kang Seungyoon, Song Minho, Nam Taehyun, Kim Jinwoo, Lee Seunghoon) during an interview on November 25th at a restaurant in Mapo-gu, Seoul.
WINNER took the final victory last October 25th at the Olympic Stadium located in Songpa-gu, Seoul where they participated in the final battle of WIN: WHO IS NEXT with Team B. With this, WINNER has been chosen as the new YG boy group, 8 years after BIG BANG.
CL who recently watched over her juniors revealed, “I think the results came out as I expected. I’m really happy to have juniors in our company. That’s why I gathered the juniors and bought them dinner not too long ago. The menu was Kalbi.” She began, “At first I thought ‘what would be different if we had new juniors’. But now, I’m actually very happy to have them with us. In the beginning, when Lee Hi became my junior, I really wanted to help her as much as I could when we were on stage together.”
About this CL continued, “Dara-unnie is also especially happy to have younger male juniors.” Sandara Parkreplied, “Since we’re family members, even so, they really caught my attention. Those kids’ eyes are always sparkling, you know.” Dara expressed her thoughts, “It’s really cute when they have the attitude, ‘2NE1 seniors, please teach us well.’ I’m going to watch over them in the future and I’m looking forward to taking care of them as well. When we debuted as well, our seniors took great care of us too.”
Park Bom added, “They’re really great and follow their seniors very well. All the noonas love it. (Laughs)” CLcontinued, “Another great thing is that they’re in the same age group as 2NE1′s maknae, Gong Minji.” She adds, “Since Minzy started her idol activities at a very young age, she wasn’t able to meet a lot of friends even though she wanted to because of how busy we were. I think this is a great chance for her to meet and get closer as friends to juniors who are the same age as her. I hope they become closer in the future.”
CL said, “We encouraged them right away and went up on the stage with them when the results that Team A won during WIN’s final battle. I personally told Team B, ‘Rather think of this as a great opportunity for you to do well.'” She continued, “Because they can still prepare and show a stronger stage in front of the fans and that this isn’t the end of their path. They’ll be able to debut someday and in any case, it’s advantageous for them to be able to use this time and practice more. I said these words to my juniors.”
She also revealed the advice she gave to WINNER. CL explained, “To my juniors who have done well, gather up your feelings and prepare to run. Honestly, it’s more important to show them actions instead of words. The best example is for them to put all their sincerity into their music and show us a great stage.”
Park Bom revealed about WIN’s results, “The team that my heart was going towards and the team I thought was going to win was different. My heart was going towards Team A but in my head, I thought the winning team could be Team B. I felt that they did a bit better. However, I’m really happy that Team A was chosen as the WINNER, too.”
Meanwhile, 2NE1 has revealed their song “Missing you” and has been #1 on many charts.

Group “2NE1”s member CL (22) met “godfather of soul” Stevie Wonder (63) in Hong Kong, where Mnet Asia Music Awards (MAMA) was held on the 22 this month. “He personally gave me good words of advice. Listening to him, I reflected on myself, thinking that I used the power of music for other purposes, rather than sharing love.”
That is self-reflection of 2NE1, who has now established their position as top Korean Wave group, since their debut with “LOLLI POP” in 2009. “As we have just run and run for only music, we didn’t have time to see other things.” (MINZY)
It has been five year since their debut, but 2NE1 members have been together for 7-8 years including the years of training. “We didn’t come together to form a group. Each of us was preparing solo debut then we met one another ‘like destiny’. We have different musical preferences, but we all think that ‘we have to do it right if we really want to do it’. We will do cool music, as long as we do it.” (CL)
On the 21, 2NE1 released “MISSING YOU”, dreamy ballad music. It is a “song that all members like” and topped nine music charts upon being released. It is the third single released this year following “FALLING IN LOVE” in July and “DO YOU LOVE ME” in August, as well as third No.1 ranking in music charts.
“I think there’s difference between a song that tops charts and a song that influences people. I hope more people listen to our song, rather than “No.1” place on charts. I want to sing a song that can influence people and make that kind of songs.” (CL)
The song’s lyrics “I still hate you that you let me go/ My heart now cold is still/ missing him” made each of 2NE1 members get emotional. BOM (29) and DARA (29) even burst into tears while recording the song.
“I thought of members while singing it. I think each listener feels different” (BOM) “I thought of members much, too. And I also thought that our fans would have missed us, too, while singing.” (MINZY)
The song was given to 2NE1 a year ago, but the timing of release has been put off because of preparations for a regular album. “We have been just running and running since our debut. As we came to see a bigger world and a bigger picture having a world tour, we realized that every moment is precious. We received the song after the tour. We wanted to express a bigger meaning than just relationship between a man and woman.” (CL)
“It was hard to think of the feeling of “missing somebody’, when I’m not in love. I tried to recall my past relationship, but that was too long ago”, said DARA. “Once, my pictures were taken by paparazzi, and the backgrounds were barbecue place, massage shop, and 80% discount store, and places like that. I felt bitter.”
Music video of the song is also very popular, recording four million views. CL performed for the music video naked, thinking “I want to show the loneliness of being alone and the bottom of the heart, being more relaxed.” “I myself suggested it to the producer. If someone made me do it, I couldn’t be able to do it like that, but I tried it because I was inspired listening to the song.”
2NE1 members were surprised by CL’s bold suggestion. “I was surprised at first, but I could understand her, after I heard her thoughts. I think it helped our music video.” (BOM) “At first, I thought she was suggesting it to all of us, so I said ‘I’m not ready yet’ (laugh).” (DARA)
2NE1 will hold a world tour from next March in Seoul, and then in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and Japan. “For the tour, and for us, we want to advertise that we will release a regular album before kicking off the tour. I want to make the audience see a good concert.” (CL)
They are looking into five years ahead. “The music we like has never been the same. I personally feel sorry that each of us has never performed as a solo artist. Looking at each one’s different charms, I think that it would be nice if we can perform songs that can express our different individualities. When we have the opportunity, I and the other members will come back as solo artists. When we come together again after that, won’t we be stronger?” (CL)

Missing You, Missing You, Missing You~~
Hello. This is ‘2NE1′. 2013 was a year of change indeed. Last July, they conveyed a fresh reggae feel through ‘Falling in Love’. In August, they showed a fierce performance through ‘Do You Love Me’.
And in November, the last one for the single project came out. The new song is ‘Missing You’. It is a 2NE1-style ballad song that can be matched with ‘It Hurts’ and ‘Lonely’. In this cold winter, they released a sentimental ballad song to warm our hearts.
‘Missing You’ was first performed at ‘2013 MAMA’. To tell you the truth, it was an abrupt decision to perform at ‘MAMA’. That is why we only had three days to prepare for the performance. We were so happy to come back on a big stage, but we had a regret, too.
We put the past behind and released the performance of ‘Missing You’ first in Korea through SBS-TV’s ‘The Music Trend’ on November 24. We felt awkward to sing a song while standing still at first, but we adapted to the situation and focused on the lyrics. We had a satisfying result.

Finally ‘2NE1’ arrived at KBS. Can you see the large letters ‘2NE1’? Once we arrived at the waiting room, it felt real that we came back. Our heart started to pound. We were both nervous and expectant. Let’s get in now.
As soon as we entered the waiting room, we could see presents from fans first. There was a rose basket for Dara. There was a cute Teddy Bear, too. There were pretty hand-written letters for Bom and Min-ji. The presents helped us to relieve nervousness and smile.
Our favorite was that cheering board made by our fan club ‘Black Jack’. The board was full of messages of support from written by each fan. We read them one by one and gained strength. We always thank you, Black Jack.
▶ Wait, whose shoes are these? We sometimes wear comfortable shoes backstage. We let our poor feet suffered from high heels rest. The yellow-green slippers are cute. To protect our members, we will not tell you whose shoes they are (laughter)
These are the shoes that we wear on stage. All four of us wore the same black ankle boots, but the designs vary, don’t they? We chose shoes of different designs to show our own personality and taste. We will come up to the stage in the four different pairs of boots.
What about the accessories? There are a black fedora and leather gloves. You will be able to some fierce energy, won’t you? I think that all of you would know that whose accessories they are. They belong to CL, the charismatic leader of 2NE1.
They are the same hat and gloves but they have a totally different feel. The floppy hat and warmers covering wrists and backs of hands gave off feminine vibes. Whose accessories are they?
You are right! The answer is Dara. The big hat makes her small face look even smaller. The completed look will be revealed on stage. Please wait.
Now, we are getting ready for our stage. Firstly, Dara. She is thoroughly checking her warmers. She seems to be happy with the comeback costumes. She cannot stop smiling. The black and white dress is beautiful, isn’t it?
Hairstyle check is essential, too. Especially Dara’s long straight hair requires an extra-special care. Her hair needs a thorough combing. She pays a detailed attention to her blonde hair which is in contrast with the color of her costume.

‘Unrivaled girl group’ 2NE1. This is not just their plausible modifier. Since their debut, and for five more years they have been differentiating their music with unique distinguished characters. They are still differentiated from other groups. 2NE1’s weapon is ‘difference’ which is now settled down as their unrivaled competitiveness.
2NE1’s new song ‘Missing You’ is about extreme sorrow. It is not a typical break up song but it is broader. They said the recalled each members when they sang the song.
“I imagined the possibility of parting up with my members. I would miss them if we start doing things apart. In fact, everyone sang the song with same heart. It is not that we are going to stop being a team!(laughs). We had a lot of time to think during the tour last year. I think that time made up feel more special to each other.”(CL)
2NE1 who mainly showed strong intense performance, came back with sad tear shedding new song ‘Missing You’. The music video was even more shocking. Member CL made a bold daring decision to perform naked.
“As soon as I listened to the song, I wanted to play raw. I thought this song did not go out with any clothes. I wanted to express the ‘ra image’ so I first offered to perform naked in the video. I could not have done it if someone asked me to. I did not feel uncomfortable since I knew this goes well with the song.”(CL)
“CL said lets go all nude together. We were appalled. We all refused so she did it by herself. When we saw the video, it was amazing.”(Park Bom)
She even made her members’ startled. But her choice eventually created a artistic outcome. The video was lauded by Billboard which said “CL has does the sad and naked with more classic than Miley Cirus ‘Wrecking Ball'”
“We were really surprised. I thought she was so cool to go naked for our video. Her art spirit was amazing. I did not have any desire for naked performance since I have the youngest image.”(Minzy)
This was a big issue even inside the YG Entertainment and Yang Hyun-suk.
“He said nothing much. I remember him saying ‘I will let her go naked since she wants to but I am a little worried.’ after watching the outcome Yang Hyun-suk and YG family all said ‘Thank god it came out well. We were so worried.’ I guess it was a big issue in YG. Many must have been worried.”(CL)
The song ‘Missing You’ is the third single this year after ‘Falling in love’ and ‘Do you love me’. In the beginning of the year they planed on releasing each song every month from July to October. Actually it did not turn out as they planned.
“We tried to comeback with regular album. This is why it took so long. But we just came out with ‘Missing You’ because we wanted to share the song fast. Also due to the timing and weather. Regular album? There are already many songs. We did not want to rush anything. Instead we wanted to come out with perfect high quality songs.”(CL)
Previously 2NE1 already garnered attention with their comeback time overlapping with YG Family musicians. Again, their comeback will be overlapping with Taeyang and TOP who are already in promotion. Instead of looking uncomfortable they seem to look happy.
“We are really close with Young-bae(Taeyang). We don’t know many celebrities since we don’t regularly come out. We are happy to see our family musician. It is not boring to work together.”(CL)
“If our promotion overlap I feel more excited. When we are active in promotion, sometime I feel tired, sick, sleepy but still..alive.”(Dara Park)
Park Bom and Dara Park playfully confessed that they have no development in their love life although they earned their freedom to date. When they said about music, they soon became serious right away. When they were asked about their future goals and plans they focused on their simple not far away plans.
“For now, our goal is to release our regular album. We will be dropping our regular album before our world tour next year. We don”t want to become meaningless top chart singers. Instead we would like to inspire and effect others with our song.”(CL)

2NE1 Congratulates Teddy And Wishes They Were in Relationships Too
2NE1 recently congratulated YG Entertainment’s biggest producer Teddy on his recently publicized relationship with actress Han Ye Seul.
On November 25, the news of Teddy and Han Ye Seul dating broke and drew much public interest. According to reports, the couple began dating six months ago.
On the same day, 2NE1 was being interviewed at a local pub and asked if they knew beforehand that their producer Teddy was dating someone. “We had no idea,” they confessed.
“We see Teddy when he’s at work in the studio, but since we like to joke around a lot – he’s more like an older brother to us. Once we heard the news, we were really surprised. There was nothing different about the way he acted around us. Even while we were working on our music video, he looked over all the details, including our clothes, and didn’t seem the slightest bit different. So hearing that he was dating someone was sort of a surprise,” saidCL. The members then clapped and congratulated Teddy on his new relationship.
When asked about their own personal lives, CL replied, “I don’t have a love life. I really do want to date.” She then asked the other members, “If you had a boyfriend, would you want to tell everyone?”
Park Bom responded by saying, “I think it’s because of CEO Yang Hyun Suk that there haven’t been any guys. They might be intimidated because of our stardom, since they hardly ever try to approach us.”
Sandara Park chimed in, “It’s been a long time since Yang Hyun Suk lifted the dating ban, but I still haven’t found a boyfriend yet – so it’s even more depressing.”
CL added, “Minzy and I are still under the dating ban, but saw that nothing happened when the unnies were finally free to date. I thought, ‘Ah…I guess even if you’re free to date, nothing really happens either,’” causing everyone to laugh.
