And for those who don’t know, “patbingsu” is a Korean dessert, basically composed of shave ice cream and red beans, with some kind of syrup, although the more expensive ones include different kinds of fruits and ice cream on top. ^^

KANG SEUNG YOON was the first case in point this summer. He topped music charts with his debut song “IT RAINS” released last month. In a matter of a month, he is about to showcase a new title song “WILD AND YOUNG.” This clearly shows the rookie singer’s unparalleled enthusiasm. Of course, YG’s chief producer Yang Hyun Suk has been there to support his passion. Yang has supervised the production of the music video of “WILD AND YOUNG” following his previous involvement with PSY’s mega-hit songs, “GANGNAM STYLE” and “GENTLEMAN.”
2NE1 is next in the pipeline. Following CL’s remarkable debut as a solo, the four gorgeous artists of 2NE1 is about to stage an incredible performance. Their second title song “DO YOU LOVE ME” will be released on August 7th, most likely to wow the users of YouTube and other SNS all around the world.
On top of this, YG’s other leading artists will keep the party vibe rolling. Member of BIGBANG, who have become global artists as well as Hanryu (Korean Wave) stars, will make a comeback as a solo artist by the end of this year. SEUNGRI will be the first to stage a comeback. The list goes on. There are signs that the global pop phenomenon PSY is about to release a new song. YG has remained silent about the prospect so far, and usually that means “yes.”
If PSY really makes a comeback, it is likely that KANG SEUNG YOON, 2NE1, SEUNGRI, PSY, G-DRAGON, and TAEYANG might have to compete with each other as well as other artists during the latter half of this year. On YG’s official blog, CEO Yang Hyun-suk posted that “2NE1 has already successfully completed the choreography of the song with a new choreographer from abroad. Yet, there has been a bit of a setback for the production of the music video, which was scheduled to be directed by Seo Hyun-seung.”
“This kind of thing is very common when working on albums. Normally, people in the business delay the release date for a couple of weeks. However, 2NE1 is planning to release a new song every month so if we postpone this month’s release, it will create a domino-effect leading to the delays for the next songs. This will become a major setback for 2NE1’s plan” said Yang.
So as a stop gap measure, YG decided to create a home video with mobile phones and old-fashioned cameras. This plan took into consideration that 2NE1 enjoys higher YouTube viewership among fans around the world compared to many other Korean girl groups.
“We believe that this home video style can work as it will show a natural and casual aspect of 2NE1, who has so far showcased several music videos emphasizing their unique fashion styles in glamorous sets. It came from an idea that tried to make the best of the situation” he stated.
Due to this schedule, 2NE1 finished their TV promotion activities for FALLING IN LOVE after appearing on SBS’s Music Trend (Inkigayo) last week.
