SHINee, Sandara Park, Which Member Kissed On The Lips?

Idol group SHINee members, Key, Taemin, and Jonghyun reveals their kissing scenes with 2NE1’s Sandara Park.

On the 29th, SHINee’s Key, Taemin, and Jonghyun, attended the beatyy class event held for Etude’s “Dear My Lips-Talk” campaign, at the Garden Place in Gwanghamun.

News: Girl Groups Ranked By Height, 2NE1 in the “Really Short Group”

Girl groups are often ranked based on popularity or their singing abilities. This time, the groups are lined up in a recently published ‘height rankings’ chart that is drawing the attention of fans everywhere.

The recent topic of conversation is the ‘Girl Groups’ Average Heights’ posting published on online community forums. The published article arranges the average heights of many K-pop girl groups in a visual graph. The rankings are broken up into the categories of ‘giants group,’ ‘tall group,’ ‘average,’ ‘short group’ and ‘really short group,’ and the number one spot went to Nine Muses with an average height of 171.9 cm (almost 5 feet, 8 inches for those on the US system). On the borderline between the ‘giants group’ and ‘tall group’ is After School, taking 4th place with an average height of 168.5 cm (about 5 feet, 6 inches).

SNSD and Wonder Girls belong to the ‘short group,’ while KARA, 2NE1, Brown Eyed Girls andSECRET were placed into the ‘really short group.’ In particular, Brown Eyed Girls ranked last with their average height of 160 cm (5 feet, 3 inches).

News: Will.I.Am to Accelerate 2NE1’s U.S. Debut Album

Black Eyed Peas leader and producer Will.I.Am came to Korea to accelerate 2NE1’s U.S. debut album.

He arrived in Korea on February 27 whose plan is to work on promoting Intel’s Ultrabook Project promotion and 2Ne1’s U.S. album. Currently as Intel’s ‘Director of Creative Innovation’ he will visit many cities to collaborate with local artists to create a song inspired by each city he travels to. This visit to Korea also is part of the global project.

Will.I.Am will be meeting 2NE1 separately apart from Intel’s promotion to concentrate on their album. Meanwhile it’s been noted that 2NE1 and Will.I.Am has completed over 10 songs and plans to conduct additional work through this visit.

2NE1’s representative shared with Star News on February 27, “Will.I.Am plans to spend a lot of time together with 2NE1 to discuss about producing. He has shown great enthusiasm as to even set up a music studio in his temporary place of residence in Korea. We believe a clearer picture of 2NE1’s plan to enter the US market will come out through this visit.”

Will.I.Am and 2NE1’s joint stage last year at the MAMA has already made headlines. 2NE1 began to receive the world’s spotlight by the joint stage of CL and will.i.am was noted to be selected as MTV’s best performance.

News: Yang Hyun Suk Speaks About Future Plans for Big Bang, 2NE1 and New Groups

Yang Hyun Suk, member of the legendary group Seo Taiji and the Boys during the 1990’s has since reinvented himself as a leader in K-Pop’s global success. Fifteen years ago Yang Hyun Suk founded YG Entertainment which currently houses some of K-Pop’s biggest stars Se7en, Big Bang, and 2NE1.

“I am not a child of a tycoon, so I began with nothing. Originally, I started out with little money and YG was just a tiny corner shop, which was up until I discovered Jinusean and 1TYM.” YG Entertainment is now considered to be one of the top three record labels in Korea.

A lot has changed around Yang Hyun Suk since the early days. He maintains a beginner’s mindset in the sense that he remains curious about new things, as he shared his motto, “Live better tomorrow than you did today.”

Yang Hyun Suk revealed his upcoming global plans for his artists, “Big Bang and 2NE1 will focus more on performing at festivals to further their global promotion. The United States and Europe are more fitting for 2NE1 and Big Bang. Meanwhile, Se7en will concentrate on his Japanese promotions.  Each of our artists have strengths that match the local as well as global markets.”

He commented regarding K-Pop’s potential, “This is just a start. No one is able to predict the impact that K-Pop can and will have on the market, however it does not appear to be merely a trend.”

He continued, “YG Entertainment plans to create office branches in the US as well as Europe to more efficiently manage our global efforts. Our goal is to become the world’s leading music company. In doing so we will try our best to offer compelling content which will boost interest in K-Pop.”

YG Entertainment is the most sought after company to enter for new trainees, according to a Korean research poll. YG’s management style has the lowest job turnover rate among the entertainment companies.

Currently there are close to 40 trainees housed at YG Entertainment. It has been mentioned before, the entertainment giant plans to release a new girl and boy group sometime this year.

The girl group is said to debut in the first half of 2012. They are expected to be strong with roots in hip-hop music but rumors call them “YG’s answer to Girls Generation.” What can all of this mean?

“2NE1 is a blend of hip-hop, electronic, rock and rap music, the style for the rookie girl group is difficult to predict. YG’s style of hip-hop comes out stronger than your average group.” He has continued, “With Big Bang they debuted through a reality show. 2NE1 featured in a commercial. SBS Strong Heart is preparing for a YG special.
