On February 14, bntnews interviewed girl group 2NE1 at Conrad Hotel in Seoul to commemorate the group’s new album release.
During the interview, CL said, “We admire how Girls’ Generation is loved by the public for this long period. The girls must have more experiences since they held on to this group for such long time. We always thought that it is truly amazing how each member is active in one’s own area.”
Then, Sandara continued, “I watched the comeback performance of Girls’ Generation a few days ago. Well, it’s difficult to compare us to them in details since each of us have different colors. Yet, Girls’ Generation is showing something we can’t.”
Prior to this, Girls’ Generation and 2NE1 each released new albums ‘Mr. Mr’ and ‘Crush.’ Thus, the two groups inescapably returned to screen in the same time. As many know, the two were considered rivalries ever since many years ago, and they were always compared on music charts.
When the members were asked about romance, CL replied with laughs, “We certainly are lagging behind on love. No one is dating right now unlike Girls’ Generation.”
“We don’t have so many chances to meet men and we don’t have men in our lives right now,” mentioned Park Bom. “Well, we have some guys at the agency, but they just seem like close friends, which is very bad. And Dara doesn’t really leave her home so that explains,” said CL.
“Now the agency people are worrying about our love life as well,” added Sandara regarding their long-term boyfriend-free period.
Meanwhile, 2NE1’s 2nd complete album ‘CRUSH,’ comprised of ten tracks including two title songs ‘Come Back Home’ and ‘Gotta Be You,’ was released in two versions: pink and black editions. Each version is composed of different photos that exude charms of the members. (YG Entertainment)

Their new album “Crush” might be topping the K-pop charts, but the members of 2NE1 say they still can’t find love.
In an interview released on Monday by their record label YG Entertainment, 2NE1 bandmates CL and Minzy claimed that unlike the members of Girls Generation, they do not have any boyfriends to reveal.
“We also want to give our fans good news,” CL said. “I would like to reveal my new boyfriend, but I don’t have one.”
“Someone even said that love isn’t in my DNA,” Minzy added.
But when asked about their goals, not a single one of the lovelorn ladies of 2NE1 mentioned romance.
“I want to be an inspiring singer,” Minzy said. “I hope to be a musician who can help people.”
“I hope people can listen to our songs and be encouraged,” Park Bom added. “I want to be an artist who can empower people.”
It was 2NE1 band member Dara who set the bar highest for herself.
“I want to take myself to another level,” she said. “I think I can show more of myself to others. I recently started learning guitar and I want to keep practicing so I can perform any song.”
For the group’s frontwoman CL, 2014 is all about the fans.
“I studied music as a young girl, and I made my debut early on. I think it was other people who helped me to grow,” she said.
“Before, I thought what I wanted to do was important and that I should do what I want. But now, I want our fans to give us power, and want to spend time with them. I want to learn from our fans.”

[OSEN=Kwon Ji Young] The choreography video of ‘GOTTA BE YOU’, the double title song of a girl group 2NE1’s regular 2nd album, is revealed.
The choreography video of ‘GOTTA BE YOU’ was posted on YG Entertainment(YG) YG official blog at 9pm on March 17th and got the attention of the fans.
In the revealed video, 2NE1 is showing off a free charm with the training outfit and casual outfit that is full of individuality. 2NE1 is gathering attention with another refreshing and cheerful charm that is different from powerful and charismatic sides shown when they are on the stage. They presented a memorable choreography by expressing the chorus ‘GOTTA BE YOU’ with a hand gesture.
Especially in the intro of the song, they conveyed the detailed expression of emotions with the stage production that is like as if they are talking to one another. In the end of the dance, the entire members shouted ‘GOTTA BE YOU’ towards the camera with facial expressions that is full of naughtiness and added lovely charms.
The fans who saw the choreography video said “2NE1 choreography video is too lovely”, “The refreshing sides that is different from ‘COME BACK HOME’ is felt”, “The hand gesture and the looks in the eyes in the final part is the best” and “No wonder they are 2NE1” and so on and showed hot reactions.
‘GOTTA BE YOU’ is a song that the producers Teddy and PK worked together with and is a song that has characteristics of appealing to public as it has cheerful tempo and also Minzy and Bom’s main part melody powerfully shouting ‘GOTTA BE YOU’ approaches in a very impressive way. With such positive points, this song was chosen as the double title song along with ‘COME BACK HOME’.
The intro is made up of unique synth sound and rhythmical rapping and the latter part of the song mixed an exciting beat and an old school melody. It is a crossover genre dance song that added elements of trap and EDM.
Meanwhile, 2NE1 released the new album and not only holding active promotion activities in Korea, they will also meet with overseas fans in 12 cities of 9 countries such as Hong Kong, China and Taiwan and so on through the second world tour ‘ALL OR NOTHING’.
