I think it’s quite cool that SBS chose 2NE1’s “Gotta Be You” to be the music for this video. ^^ And it’s also cute that we can see bits of the girls in the original MV kekeke! I hope 2NE1 could get to visit Roommate soon! ^_^

Anddddd yes! There’s a dance version Music Video! WOOHOO! Is it weird that I prefer this over the other two? XD 2NE1 having fun and dancing together and the hot male dancers sold me out! XD The meaning of the lyrics of the song suit the isolated, sad-ish vibe of the 2 other music videos, but the song is just so upbeat that somehow, I feel that this suits it more? ^_^ Besides, the girls’ smiles are precious.. ❤ Anyways, yaaayyyy for THREE music videos for “Gotta Be You” XD

Did YG perhaps see the comments on YouTube about “Gotta Be You” MV? XD And it seems that they added Ash Stymest’s (the male model) and CL’s carwash scenes on another shoot? The Music Video is here! It doesn’t have a storyline like “Come Back Home,” but it has its merits. ^^ The girls didn’t change outfits, so it’s pretty much one-dimensional. ^^ It’s a feast on the eyes for the girls’ prettiness though! Dara looks really really pretty and fresh! ❤

The record-breaking K-pop quartet sing and rap amid references to Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein
Following a pair of fierce videos initially revealed when 2NE1 dropped their record-breaking “Crush” album, the K-pop phenoms have followed up with a visual for new single “Gotta Be You,” showcasing the girls singing and rapping through a pop-art world.
As usual 2NE1 deliver on the visual front, overloading viewers with ferocious fashion (see CL and Bom’s zombie-inspired dresses), hair, makeup and accessories that scale the color spectrum. While the vid is filled with glamour shots, there is a key point where CL gets drenched inside a car wash that is less a wet T-shirt contest turning on the camera and more about embracing the longing lyrics of the track.
The girls mix the song’s sentimental subject of being in love with someone despite them giving up on the relationship inside a bright, pop-art world. There are references to Roy Lichtenstein comic books, Andy Warhol’s “Brillo Boxes”, along with splashes of graffiti, emoticons and neon throughout the video sets. Despite every punch of color, the girls never crack a smile making for a fascinating, juxtaposed visual.
Sonically, “Gotta Be You” lets 2NE1 flex their mix-mastering skills to blend a new genre of synthy dance-pop into their rap/EDM formula. Like a majority of the tracks of the new LP, the snappy song highlights each girl’s unique timbre and, most notably, lets youngest member Minzy vocally rip on the chorus alongside main vocalist Bom.
“Gotta Be You” originally peaked at No. 4 on the K-Pop Hot 100 and No. 16 on Billboard’s World Digital Songs chart. The video should give the “Crush” LP additional longevity and breathe a bit of new life for it on the charts.
Previous to the official video, fans had only seen the song brought to life on the live stage via their Asian tour dates and TV performances. Watch one below:

2NE1 is to continue their TV appearance with songs in their second full-length album, by disclosing the performance of “GOTTA BE YOU” on SBS “INKIGAYO” on the 6 this month.
Plus, they will disclose the music video of “GOTTA BE YOU” next week. 2NE1 caught eyes when they disclosed the music video of “COME BACK HOME”, for its mystical concept of virtual reality. Now, music fans are expressing high expectations for what kind of new appeal 2NE1 will show in the music video of “GOTTA BE YOU”.
“GOTTA BE YOU” is a cross-over music in which a unique synth sound in the introduction, rhythmical rapping, and a strong and exciting beat in the latter part are mixed together. The main part’s melody where MINZY and BOM powerfully cry “gotta be you” leaves a very strong impression.
2NE1 disclosed the stage and choreography video of “GOTTA BE YOU” in March and created sensation at that time. After coming back with their second full-length album, 2NE1 has been catching fans’ eyes and ears with their charismatic and powerful performance of “COME BACK HOME”. Now, 2NE1 is to show a bubbly and cheerful appeal with the performance of “GOTTA BE YOU”.

Gotta Be You is a cross-over song with a mix of rhythmical rapping, synthesizer sound and fast and powerful beat towards the later half.
Meanwhile, 2NE1 will continue to promote in Korea with Gotta Be You and meet with the fans in China by holding a world tour concert All Or Nothing in Shanghai on April 11.
