Nikon, Sandara Park Camera “Nikon 1 J2” Reveals TV CF

“For the TV-CF of Nikon 1, popular girl group 2NE1’s Sandara Park, who is the exclusive model, appears in a dream-like atmosphere with the video’s bold styling; she expressed Nikon 1 J2’s features as the model that brings out the camera’s features, while giving off an eye-catching aura of mysterious beauty. Sandara Park as a model shows off a different charm and image with her entrancing expressions and eyes, coupled with her alluring face, showing off another side compared to that of her as a singer.”

Scan/Trans: 2NE1 Featured in Singapore’s ‘MyPaper’

Bom, who likes children, wants to be a wife and future mother!

Korean girl group 2NE1 will be holding a concert in Singapore on the 1st of December. Members CL, Bom, Dara and Minzy had gotten an interview from MyPaper before the concerts. They were asked about their feelings about coming to Singapore for a concert and also their future plans about having children.

Main vocalist Bom had admitted that she loves children a lot during the interview and said “To me, every single child is cute!”. As to the ideal age of getting married and forming a family, she answered “I have no idea when I will get married. But once I have a family, I will be a good wife and mother.”

Dara has also shared about the secrets to maintaining her slim figure. “I did not go on a diet on purpose. I am naturally slim and also has a small appetite. But recently, I will be full after eating for 20 minutes. I have been eating like this since I was young, and it is actually very good for health. So let’s all eat slowly!”

She had been on several Philippines movie and variety shows before she became a 2NE1 member in South Korea, when asked if she would like to return to the screens again, she said “Being a movie star is an extremely good job, and it will definitely give me the satisfaction a singer will never be able to enjoy. If I were to film for a movie again, I hope it will be a romantic comedy, someone who falls in love with a Prince or a character who is totally different from what I am.”

2NE1 is recognised as one of the top female group in Korea and they have hectic work schedules and work stress. Hence, singing had became Minzy’s best way of relieving stress. She said, “By listening to different types of music, it will help me to relieve my stress!”

When talking about their upcoming Singapore concert, leader CL said “I always had great memories whenever I come to Singapore. I’m thankful for Singaporean fans and their support, and I hope that they’ll be attending our concert.”

Article: The New Paper – Fans go crazy at 2NE1’s surprise pre-concert showcase

It was a bridge-shaking event for thousands of K-pop fans Friday.

When they turned up at Read Bridge at Clarke Quay – some of them hours in advance – they weren’t sure of what to expect.

For a while, it looked like it might just be some images of girl group 2NE1.

Then the sexy singers appeared in the flesh and the fans went delirious.

As part of SingTel’s new initiative to bring “unexpected joy” to its customers, it had been dropping hints on social media for the past week that an immensely popular K-pop act was due to turn up at the Read Bridge for a showcase at 7.30pm.

For 2NE1 fans, it was a stellar surprise as the girl group was due here only on Dec 1 for their first full-length concert.

Among the fans were two best friends, Miss Anne Lee and Ms Celeste Goh, who had taken leave from work.

Said Miss Lee, 25, a marketing manager: “I was telling Celeste that my hunch was very strong that it was 2NE1. There was no particular reason for it, perhaps I just wished it into reality.

“It was difficult for us to get leave at the last minute, but we managed and it was all worth it.

“The rationale was that this was free so all we would waste was just a day’s leave.

“I still couldn’t believe it when I saw the girls appear onstage. Goodness, we were so near them!”

The sexy quartet – on their third visit to Singapore – went onstage punctually, thrilling the 2,000-strong crowd.

As the bridge could accommodate only 600 people, many of the fans lined the footpaths nearby, but they screamed their heads off anyway.

To tease the audience, a hologram of CL, Bom, Dara and Minzy, aged 18 to 28, singing and dancing was projected on the stage before the girls arrived.

Some fans admitted that they thought the jiving apparitions were all they were going to get.

It was only when flashes of blonde, black, purple and orange hair were spotted that pandemonium broke out.

Constant shouts of “Oh my god!” rang out into the night as the crowd reacted in disbelief at the start of the half-hour showcase.

Said group leader CL, who blew kisses to her adoring audience: “We’re so surprised that so many of you turned up. Thank you, we love you so much.

“We love to represent girl power and be (the gold standard) for independent women.”

The most lusty screams were reserved for Dara and Bom, with the latter pulling out all the stops as she worked her curvaceous physique.

Sweat poured down Dara’s face. She must have regretted wearing long pants in the humid weather.

But the Korean beauty looked ravishing anyway as she carefully wiped the perspiration off her flawless complexion with her hand time and time again.

In the audience, fans were also sweating through their shirts as there was no room to move on the packed bridge.

Article: Xin MSN Lists Down Their Top 10 Favourite Korean Variety-Dols – Dara at Number 8!

Being a Korean idol is difficult, but being part of a Korean idol group is even harder.

Korean idol groups can no longer be contented with just performing on stage. There’s a rising trend with a need for them to branch out in other areas, not only to make a name for their group, but also to let the audience get to know them individually — especially for those in big groups like Super Junior and ZE:A.

In recent years, Koreans coined the word ‘variety-dol’ to describe idols well-received on variety programmes because of their personalities, silver tongues or comedic timing.

The first few idols to be crowned ‘variety-dols’ were probably the members of legendary group Shinhwa, who dominated old-time variety shows such as X-Man where they showed TV audiences another side of themselves. Beast’s Yoseob was even quoted as saying, ‘Shinhwa members are variety-dols’ ‘textbooks’.’

Variety Programmes: 2NE1 TV, Strong Heart

Success rate: ★★★

Girl group 2NE1 is a rare sight on variety programmes, so when Dara and Bom first went onto talk show Strong Heart, fans were in for a treat.

Dara was pretty nervous when she was sharing her story then, but her confidence quickly grew as time went by. She even admitted that she had taken variety classes from senior Seungri (Big Bang) to prepare herself the night before.

The 28-year-old then told a funny story of how Taeyang (Big Bang) grabbed her neck and twirled her on the ground with a straight face and even added her own sound effects, causing the entire studio of guest stars to cackle along.

On 2NE1‘s own reality TV 2NE1 TV, Dara may be the group’s ‘visual’, but she sure didn’t mind showing her goofy side. With her years of experience in showbiz (Dara was previously a star when she lived in the Philippines), we say, give the girl more chances on variety programmes, she will do a fine job!

Article: MTV – 2NE1 Bringing K-Pop ‘Girl Power’ Stateside With will.i.am-Assisted Debut

2NE1 Bringing K-Pop ‘Girl Power’ Stateside With will.i.am-Assisted Debut

Korean girl group talk to MTV News about paving their way to Stateside success.

As demonstrated by the undeniable success of overnight sensation Psy and his “Gangnam Style,” Korean pop music, otherwise known as K-pop, is certainly making its mark on American culture. And Psy isn’t the only one making a name for himself, as K-pop girl group 2NE1 (pronounced “twenty-one”) may be the next on the horizon for crossover success.

In just three short years, the group — CL, Dara, Minzy and Park Bom — has sold 27 million digital downloads, was voted MTV Iggy’s Best New Band in the World in 2011 and had their first American performance at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

MTV News recently caught up with 2NE1, and after sharing some surprising secrets about themselves, they revealed that they have been hard at work on their English-language debut album with none other than will.i.am.

We did a lot of studio sessions and we’ve been working on some songs, but we are waiting for the perfect song, the magical song,” CL said. “It was really fun and [will.i.am] invited us to his house studio and we just had fun making music and talking, just like we do back in Korea.

2NE1, who are currently on their first ever New Evolution global tour, admit that they don’t have a timeline of when their debut album will be released, but CL said they hope to release “at least a single” by the end of the year. “I really want an English version of our song or whatever it is to have people connect to it,” she added.

The group, which credits the Spice Girls and TLC as their girl group influences, have become sensations in Korea for their eclectic style, impressive rap skills and catchy songs.

Yet, they aren’t the only K-pop girl group gaining attention, Girls Generation and the Wonder Girls have also exploded onto the scene, but according to 2NE1, there is no competition between the different groups since they all bring something different to the K-pop scene.

Korea right now is so passionate about music and about performing. I think people feel that, people really feel the energy and passion, and I think that’s what’s different,” CL said. “I love the fact that its girl power right now. It’s all girl groups that are rocking K-pop right now so I’m happy about that and I respect that we all have different characters of the groups.
