Why Sandara Park is the Ultimate Dongahn

Sandara Park‘s past photos resurface and the netizens are impressed.

Several photos of Sandara Park were posted on an online community board titled, ‘Sandara Park’s past photos which seem like were taken just a week ago’. (Donghan: looking younger than one’s age).

The photos are from before Sandara Park debuted as a member of 2NE1. In some of the photos she’s completely makeup free but her skin complexion is flawless beyond belief. News: SM, JYP, and YG to compete with girl group comebacks of June

I seriously cannot wait for 2NE1’s comeback! I can’t wait to see what 2NE1 has in store for us this time. I hope YG would release teasers soon! ^_^

SM, JYP, and YG to compete with girl group comebacks of June

Top girl groups 2NE1, Wonder Girls, and f(x) have each announced their respective June comebacks.

All three teams are the representative girl groups of the ‘Big 3′ agencies YG Entertainment, JYP Entertainment, and SM Entertainment. The three teams have claimed numerous #1 victories on various music programs with each new release, and their comebacks are expected to turn the K-Pop industry into a warzone.

The Wonder Girls were the ones to strike first among the three by releasing their new title song “Like This” along with the accompanying MV.

“Like This” is a song written and composed by JYP Entertainment founder J.Y. Park, and contains an easy and upbeat hip hop rhythm with repetitive lyrics that make it simple to sing along to. Fans are responding positively to the girls’ new mature appearance and the exciting new song.

“Like This” was released the same day as Big Bang‘s “Monster“, and it has been a close fight between the two to maintain the #1 spot on music charts. Wonder Girls’ subtracks have also ranked high on the charts, captivating the ears of fans everywhere. Furthermore, the “Like This” MV received over 1 million views on YouTube in just a single day. Because the girls have until now received attention for their fresh, catchy songs and infectious dances moves, anticipation is rising for their broadcast promotions. Wonder Girls will be officially kicking off their comeback activities with performances on various music programs this week.

f(x) will also be making their respective comeback.

SM Entertainment reported on June 5th, “f(x) will be releasing their new mini-album ‘Electric Shock‘ all over the world through Itunes and various music sites on June 10th.”

This is the first album to be released by f(x) in a year since the group became one of the hottest girl groups after earning #1 wins with “Hot Summer” and “Pinocchio” last summer.

With each new album release, f(x) has consistently been acknowledged for their experimental and unique musical style, and expectations for this new release continue to rise as each of the five girls are determined to display their individuality, fresh new music, and upgraded performances.

For five days starting on June 6th, f(x) will be releasing teaser images of each of the members via their official homepage and Facebook pages to reveal their new concept.

Finally, YG Entertainment has also announced 2NE1′s June comeback, but not a lot of information regarding their return has been reported.

Like f(x), this is 2NE1′s first release in a year after dropping “I Am The Best” last June.

2NE1 won the hearts and minds of their fans immediately after their K-Pop debut, and the girls are causing their fans to go wild with news of their comeback alone. In a recent poll, 2NE1′s comeback was voted as the one fans are most looking forward to, proving the girls’ influence.

YG Entertainment is choosing to remain silent on the form and concept of 2NE1′s new album, as well as the exact date of their return. All that’s known so far is that the girls have worked on this new album with their exclusive producer Teddy Park, and that they are deciding which track should be their title song.

2NE1′s exact comeback dates have not been reported, however, they are expected to drop their new album towards the middle of June, which means they will be directly competing head-on with Wonder Girls and f(x).

2NE1, f(x), Wonder Girls… the sound of their names alone cause fans hearts to flutter a mile a minute. All three teams have shown amazing musical development and transformation with each new album, and the industry is already excited to see how they will captivate their fans this time around.

News: YG Representative on 2NE1’s Comeback – “We are planning to make an announcement next week…”

YES FINALLY!!! I have been waiting so so so long for this! With 2NE1’s performance in Silla University as their last event before their comeback, I have been counting the time when they will make their official comeback announcement… I guess we can expect it next week! ^_^

With group SNSD unit TaeTiSeo wrapping up their promotions on June 3rd, the upcoming comeback of the Wonder Girls is drawing much attention of the music fans. In the meantime, group 2NE1 has also announced to bring a new album to the fans some time in June.

The Wonder Girls are coming back on the day that TaeTiSeo wrap up their promotions. It has been about 7 months since the Wonder Girls have promoted with their single album ‘Be My Baby’ November last year.

Since the announcement of their comeback on May 24th, Wonder Girls’ management company JYP Entertainment has been releasing teaser pictures and video clips daily increasing the expectations of the fans.

The teasers revealed the Wonder Girls in make-up and outfits that stand out, transforming into the Wonder Girls with a more mature and chic feel.

Regarding the Wonder Girls and their new album, JYP Entertainment explained, “The new music video teaser clip shows that it will be the music video of the greatest scale and coolest style yet for the Wonder Girls. It will show a different, the whole new Wonder Girls and everyone will be able to enjoy an exciting summer with the new and exciting music and dance.”

The girl group to represent YG Entertainment, 2NE1 also come back to the fans with a new album in June. It has been a year since 2NE1 have promoted with ‘I Am the Best’ in June of last year.

On June 1st, a representative of YG Entertainment revealed, “About 7 songs have been completed with the producer in charge, Teddy. Currently we are thinking over the decision on the title song. Whether the album will be a full album or a mini album has not been decided on.”

YG Entertainment representative also added, “It’s still hard to comment on the hue of the album or the timing of comeback yet. We are planning to make an announcement next week”, but did not reveal additional details.

Although the exact timing of 2NE1′s comeback has not been confirmed, since it has been announced that 2NE1 will be releasing an album in June some time, it is expected that the promotions of the Wonder Girls and 2NE1 will overlap.

The Wonder Girls and 2NE1, as the girl groups representing the rival management companies JYP Entertainment and YG Entertainment are expected to draw the eyes and the ears of the fans this summer as their charms collide.

Article: 2NE1’s Ugly and I Am The Best on Spin’s “The 21 Greatest K-Pop Songs of All Time”

Weeee! Two of 2NE1 songs made it to the list! ^_^ Yey for their upcoming comeback this June! The whole world is ready for 2NE1! ^^

The 21 Greatest K-Pop Songs of All Time

From lapsed ’90s metalheads to the glossiest girls of today’s generation, the best of the sublimely shiny sound that’s sweeping the world

Twenty years after its birth, Korean pop music has made its way from Seoul to Singapore to San Antonio to São Paulo and back again, “outbubbling” — as SPIN’s Chuck Eddy phrased it last year — its Western counterpart by tweaking and perfecting the formula on which both have long been based. It’s music that demands to be mainlined (hooks come sharper, choruses larger, visuals brighter), its gloss equaled only by the aggressiveness with which it’s been delivered to the international marketplace in recent years. By now, K-pop’s catalog of classics is deep enough to warrant a best-of list of its own, one we’ve assembled with our ears pointed to both past and present: The 21 Greatest K-Pop Songs of All Time, a singles wrecking crew whose final, odd-numbered tally is a loving tribute to one of the current moment’s most beloved girl groups, 2NE1.

21. SoolJ feat. Suh Ga Young – “Waiting 4 U” (2011)
20. Shinee – “Lucifer” (2010)
19. TVXQ – “Doshite Kimi o Suki ni Natte Shimattandaro” (2008)
18. Wonder Girls – “Be My Baby” (2011)
17. IU – “Boo” (2009)
16. T-Ara – “Roly Poly” (2011)
15. Super Junior – “Sorry Sorry” (2009)
14. Kara – “Step” (2011)
13. Big Bang – “Bad Boy” (2012)
12. f(x) – “Nu Abo” (2010)
11. Girls Generation – “Run Devil Run” (2010)
10. E.via – “Pick Up! U!” (2010)

9. 2NE1 – “Ugly” (2011)

Though “Ugly” scans like aggressive homage (or a rip, if you’d like) to TLC’s 1996 body-image breakdown “Unpretty,” its impact is more akin to the world-beating bubble-grunge of Kelly Clarkson’s “Since You’ve Been Gone.” Loud and brash, tender yet heroic, it encapsulates just about everything that’s so immediate about the 2NE1 crew. And on the strength of CL’s volcanic vocals, the four unleash here what’s arguably the most ferocious chorus in K-pop history.

8. Norazo – “Curry” (2010)
7. GD&TOP – “High High” (2010)
6. BoA – “Eat You Up” (2008)
5. SNSD – “Gee” (2009)
4. Seo Taiji & Boys – “Nan Arayo (I Know)” (1992)

3. 2NE1 – “I Am the Best” (2011)

“I Am the Best” might’ve been the best single released on the planet in 2011, even if not for its apocalyptic/futuristic video that kicks off on a catwalk and escalates into straightjackets, train-track break-dancing, ice cream cone rabbit-ear hats, and devil-horned hairstyles well before the aluminum bats and machine guns come out so 2NE1 can smash and shoot up the place. The stomping title hook sounds like “Neh-guh-ché Challa-GAH”; other big nonsense hook is the machine-gunned “bum-ratta-TATTA ta-tatta tah-tah.” Then there’s the froggie-reggae dancehall (“hot-hot-hot-hot FI-ya”) and Alice Cooper (“billion dollar baby”) references. Lyric plot: Hitting the city, taking no shit. World-class throat: CL.

2. HyunA – “Bubble Pop!” (2011)
1. H.O.T. – “Candy” (1996)
