Article: 2NE1 To Release New Japanese Single On September 12

2NE1 to release new Japanese single

K-pop icon 2NE1 has decided to excite their fans in Japan one more time with the release of a new single.

2NE1 will drop their new Japanese single that includes the latest hit tune “I LOVE YOU” on September 12, according to the group’s official Japanese website Monday.

The girls have been cruising smoothly with “I LOVE YOU,” which already became available online in the Korean version on July 5. It has also been chosen as the campaign song of American makeup brand Maybeline New York’s mascara.

The officials noted that the forthcoming record will be unleashed in two different versions: a record-only version and a record plus DVD version that includes music videos and making clips.

On the same day of announcing the new release, the girls also revealed a snippet of promotional video of “I LOVE YOU” in the Japanese-language version.

“I LOVE YOU,” the cross-genre song of electronic and trot music, has been topping various online music charts for multiple weeks upon its release, including Gaon’s weekly singles chart.

2NE1 expanded their singing activities into Japan in September last year with the release of the debut Japanese single “NOLZA” on September 21. The girls, who attracted around 70,000 fans in total for the first promotional tour in Japan last year, released their second single “SCREAM” in March.

Meanwhile, the four K-pop queens finally kicked off their long-awaited first global tour “NEW EVOLUTION” in Seoul on July 28 and 29.

Concert Review: 2NE1 Burns the House Down with Its Exclusive Concert

The concert sounded so much fun! ^^ I really wish I’d get to witness this tour live. T_T Congratulations to our girls, for a successful concert! ^_^

2NE1 Burns the House Down with Its Exclusive Concert

This group didn’t try to cover up anything with petty tricks. 2NE1 filled the 120 minutes solely with dance and song.

The 20,000 fans gathered for both days of the group’s performance promptly went crazy, holding up their light sticks and dancing in a frenzy.

2NE1 launched its global tour New Evolution, the first global tour for any girl group, with concerts held from July 28-29 in Seoul.

It was another chance for fans to witness the power of the group following its exclusive concert in Korea last year and its Japan Arena tour.

2NE1 didn’t ease into the festivities. As soon as the members appeared onstage they belted out the hits I Am the Best,Fire and Clap. They then pulled another pin with the words “Let’s go crazy,” and made the audience explode in excitement. The reggae version of I Don’t Care, performed on a golden sofa in the middle of the stage, added a shining moment to the concert.

The moving stage was controlled not with electronic devices, but manually by the male backup dancers, and the members made sure they put it to good use.

Their voices flowed more effortlessly with the support from the band session, which contained the bassist Divinity Roxx, former director of Beyonce’s world tour. Travis Payne, choreographer for Michael Jackson’s This is It and famed stage designer Michael Cotton perfected the performances.

Although there were no shocking stage effects or surprising guests, the stage still overflowed with the 2NE1 members’ talent, and female fans could also find something to be excited about as the male backup dancers often flashed their fit bodies.

We feel very blessed for this opportunity to tour worldwide. We’ve been working with an awesome team and can’t wait to hit the road and rock out with our fans,” says CL in a statement. “We’re especially looking forward to coming back to the states for our first official US shows.

2NE1 gained momentum last year when they were crowned “Best New Band In The World” in an international vote held by MTV Iggy. The group’s hits include the international smash “I Am The Best,” “Ugly” and “I Love You,” the latter of which received an official music video earlier this month that has already racked up 7.3 million YouTube views. News: 2NE1 Members Find Singing Easier than Talking

2NE1 Members Find Singing Easier than Talking

While the 2NE1 members were attending the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity in France, they also shot some amazing photos with fashion magazine, W.

Issued in the August edition of W magazine, the pictorial revealed the 2NE1 members wearing very distinct outfits and unique accessories such as Sandara Park’s giant pom-poms or Minzy′s winged hat.

The magazine also showed some pictures from when 2NE1 was speaking at the Festival in June.

During the interview with W, 2NE1 discussed its newest single I Love You and its upcoming global tour concert, New Evolution, which will take place on July 28 and 29 in Seoul, before moving to the rest of the world.

When told that their performances in Korea were shortened due to their upcoming concert, CL replied, “We were a bit sad, but because the first concert is in Seoul, we were able to feel a bit better. We’re currently really busy, preparing for the concert and our next single, but we’re a lot happier when we’re working rather than just resting.”

W asked, “Choosing between standing on the first comeback stage or talking at the Festival, which one is harder?”

“Talking is definitely harder,” said Sandara Park.

CL added, “At a performance, we’re able to transform into something completely different, but at settings like this one, we have to show ourselves, so it makes us nervous at times.”

The complete interview and pictorial can be found in the August issue of W magazine.

2NE1 was seen preparing and practicing for their upcoming world tour. They have been working with their staff to create the best performance for their fans.

They will be holding their world tour concert in Seoul on July 28 and 29 at the Seoul Olympic Stadium. This will be their first concert in Seoul since their last album, one year ago.

YG Entertainment provided facilities for 2NE1 to practice their concert. They will start practicing on an actual stage 2 weeks before the concert.

They started their practice on July 16 as this concert will be very big and cost a lot of money. They will practice at KBS Sports World until the 22 and move to the actual stage on the 25 to practice.

On July 18,  their fourth day of practice, 2NE1 looked serious as they thoroughly checked their performance. They practiced from 1 PM to 11 PM every day.

Their top level staff also caught attention as they worked with famous choreographer Travis Payne.

With an interview with Travis Payne, he commented, “2NE1 is a shocking girl group. They have great confidence and stage presence.”

He continued, “I am excited to see their performance. I am honored to be working with them and I can’t wait to see how much more they grow with their music.”

Even in front of these top level staff members, 2NE1 did not lose their confidence but rather mingle and talk with them, having  a good time.

Interview: 2NE1 in 1st Look Magazine

Q: Comeback song “I Love You” is an electro-pop song. Between personal feelings and giving the public a new type of feel, which type of feelings are more meaningful after trying out this new genre?

CL: I like meaningful things, but both feelings are important for a singer.

Dara: I also felt that no matter what, I’m still a singer performing on stage. So the reaction of the public feels more meaningful to me.

Q: Any reactions you girls have expected?

Dara: Although it’s always the same whenever we have a new song, I still hope that people will think that “it’s the new evolution” and that “2NE1 has such a side too”. Something like that especially when Minzy and CL are extremely sexy this time round. Even though we have shown this side of us before previously, I still hope that people will be surprised.

Bom: Even if they were singing children songs, they’ll be sexy naturally.

Minzy: The problem I face is that, since I’m still underage, I’ve often heard comments about people telling me to control my sexy dance moves.

Dara: The problem I have lies with my hair (laughs). There was a photo of my hair in the MV being uploaded and surprisingly, there were a lot of positive comments about it, saying that I suited the hairstyle. Because it’s a very daring hairstyle, I’m afraid that people might not like it. But they liked it in the end.

Article: The Real Reason for YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk’s Success?

The Real Reason for YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk’s Success?

YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk is a ‘multiplayer’. You can see that through his artists Big Bang2NE1 and other YG artists.

In one interview he stated, “If a cookie is just round, it cannot become a great artist. There are many artists that have bites in their cookie, but there are parts where it sticks out, showing that there are just as many positive components as there are negative. However, most people look at the negatives first.”

Yang Hyun Suk was part of the iconic group, Seo Taiji and Boys. 20 years later, he is not a star that has been left in the past, he is still well known with his agency and all the talent and style that has been produced there.

His leadership could be seen through the first season of SBS “K-Pop Star.” He was loved by the audience due to his talent in finding truly talented potential stars.

Although he was a part of the biggest group of his time, he does not think of himself as a singer. After he retired from singing in 1996, he began to think about what he was truly good at. He then found himself enjoying the job of creating artists and letting them shine.

There seems to be speculation that YG Entertainment is a one-man show and that Yang Hyun Suk alone runs the entire business. However, this is all false. It is in fact the exact opposite.

He understands the importance of balance and doesn’t believe in ranking number one. He likes to hold discussions and does not save his words. He also listens to the people around him and is seen as a very sociable man.

He also believes in the importance of environment. If it is something worthwhile, he doesn’t see what’s wrong with investing in it. In 1997, YG Entertainment started out in the basement of a building. 12 years later in 2009, he invested in a 7 story building in order for his artists to fully focus on their training and skills. He commented, “I wanted to work harder and bring about a better environment for the artists.”

Yang Hyun Suk has never heard his artists recording for more than 5 minutes. He neither compliments nor criticizes their work either. He feels that his artists know their own style and is confident that they will produce great quality of music. He would rather just look at their final outcome.

He believes in a principle of ‘the more salt you put in your soup the saltier the soup tastes.’ He believes that YG artists can all do their own music since they all have such different styles.

When people asked him what his role was, he answered with, “I am an investor that invests in people and not money.” He looks at the persons talent and potential and allows them to freely express that through music. Groups such as Big Bang and 2NE1 are prime examples of this.

He believes that if there are both positive and negative components of an artist, we should not throw away the negative, but rather make that the focus and make it a positive. He believes in only complimenting his artists as they are people who have been admitted as great musicians.

Yang Hyun Suk can be seen as a true ‘multiplayer’ in the music industry due to his simple principle of making a negative a positive and investing in people with great talent and potential.
