[OSEN=Kwon Ji Young] Buzzfeed, a famous online website in America, chose 2NE1 as ‘11 Girl Groups From Around The World To Love Right Now’.
‘Buzzfeed’, world’s 1st place community news service media based on the number of visitors, chose 11 Girl Groups From Around The World To Love Right Now on March 31st and picked Little Mix from England and 2NE1 as the team that are most well-known and getting most amount of love.
‘Buzzfeed’ said that they recommend 2NE1’s music to people who prefer the crossover music in which EDM, rap and R&B and so on are mixed in a trendy way and added “2NE1 showed a good record with the new album during the first week of K-POP in America” and got the attention. This refers to 2NE1 becoming 61st place for the first time as a Korean artist in ‘Billboard 200’, the Billboard album chart, and means that they set a new KPOP record.
They also gave positive comments saying “2NE1 are outstanding dancers and not only they have amazing music video, but also the individuality of each member is all distinct” and recommended ‘COME BACK HOME’, the title song of this regular 2nd album ‘CRUSH’, ‘I Am The Best’ and ‘Lonely’ and so on.
2NE1 recently recorded 1st place 5 weeks in a row on ‘Album TOP20’ chart in Melon, the biggest music website in Korea, and showed off the power by also winning 1st place for 5 weeks in a row on ‘Artist TOP20’ chart and proved hot popularity. Also, they have a case of being acknowledged of their global possibility when this regular 2nd album got attention from outstanding foreign presses such as Billboard, FUSE TV and so on.
Meanwhile, 2NE1 is continuing active activities in Korea and is going to meet the local fans through 2NE1 world tour that will be held at Shanghai, China, on April 11th.

America’s well-known daily magazine L.A. TIMES wrote on March 31 (local date), “2NE1 showcases K-pop’s bright future in America with ‘CRUSH’” and added, “”CRUSH” has one foot in each country’s pop music.”
It also mentioned, “CRUSH” sold 5,000 copies for K-pop’s best debut in U.S. history on the Billboard 200.”
L.A. TIMES emphasized, “Singer-rapper-writer CL gets the album’s best track in “MTBD,” which is billed as a solo cut… “HAPPY” is just as catchy as Pharrell’s single of the same title, and G-DRAGON penned the regal ballad “Good to You.”… “COME BACK HOME” tosses Atlanta trap drums, pop-reggae guitars and Robyn’s bleary-eyed pleading into one song and makes it work.”

America’s famous fashion magazine “refinery29” also reviewed “CRUSH.” It wrote that PSY’s “GANGNAM STYLE” widened the stage for other K-Pop artists, and 2NE1 possesses charms that set them apart from other girl groups.
The magazine also mentioned that 2NE1’s songs and music videos are impressive, while the album “CRUSH” ranked #10 on American iTunes and the MV of “COME BACK HOME” attracted 7.5 million viewers so far.
It extolled the quartet by saying they create their very own music by freely blending hip-hop, dance and pop while also displaying female power.
2NE1, who is actively promoting their song in South Korea, will be traveling to Shanghai on April 11 for their World Tour.

The South Korean rapper G-Dragon has collaborated with Diplo, Missy Elliott and Skrillex; now the all-female quartet 2NE1 is the latest to shoot for a mainstream U.S. pop presence. “Crush” has one foot in each country’s pop music: K-pop’s neon melodies, with sounds from America’s trap and bass-music scenes. It’s the most coherent LP to come out of this generation of K-pop.
2NE1 pulled a Beyoncé with this record, keeping it secret until release day (It worked. “Crush” sold 5,000 copies for K-pop’s best debut in U.S. history on the Billboard 200). Singer-rapper-writer CL gets the album’s best track in “MTBD,” which is billed as a solo cut. It’s an eerie, 808-destroying stomper as good as anything on rap radio in America right now. “Crush’s” title track is a deliciously trashy electro-pop banger; “Come Back Home” tosses Atlanta trap drums, pop-reggae guitars and Robyn‘s bleary-eyed pleading into one song and makes it work. 2NE1’s softer side is convincing too: “Happy” is just as catchy as Pharrell’s single of the same title, and G-Dragon penned the regal ballad “Good to You.”

[OSEN=권지영 기자] Girl group 2NE1 is exerting their potential by topping music-streaming website MelOn’s “ALBUM TOP20” chart for five consecutive weeks. 2NE1 has also been topping “ARTIST TOP20” chart for five weeks in a row, proving their high popularity.
2NE1’s second full-length album “CRUSH”, which was released at 0am on February 26 this year, first topped weekly “ALBUM TOP20” for the week from February 24 to March 2, and then has been in the No.1 place of the chart for five consecutive weeks until the week from March 24 to 30.
Plus, 2NE1 has been in the top place of “ARTIST TOP20” chart for five weeks in a row during the same period, too, which shows that 2NE1 was the most loved Korean singer during that time.
2NE1’s second full-length album swept the No.1 on music charts upon its release. “COME BACK HOME”, one of the double title tracks of the album, took the top place, while most of the other tracks enjoyed a big popularity, being placed in top 10 ranks on the chart of ten major music-streaming websites in Korea.
Furthermore, 2NE1 has made a success overseas, too, as they have achieved the record-high ranking on Billboard’s album chart for the first time for a Korean pop singer, with “CRUSH” entering “Billboard 200” chart at 61st place.
Meanwhile, 2NE1 has been actively performing their new songs since the release of the new album. They are to meet Chinese fans on the 11 this month, at Shanghai concert of their world tour.
