[enews24 전수미 기자] 2NE1 held a signing event for fans for the first time in about three years and it was a great success.
2NE1 held a celebratory signing event for the release of their 2nd regular album “CRUSH,” which began at 8 p.m. on March 15 at Time Square in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul.
It has been more than three years since 2NE1 held a signing event for fans since the last one took place in 2011 when they released their 2nd mini album.
The venue for the signing event was a full house with not only the 110 fans who were picked to attend, but also regular citizens and other fans who came to see 2NE1 even though they weren’t picked.
To the signing event which lasted about an hour, 2NE1 showed up wearing outfits that represent each member’s unique sense of style and got up close and personal with fans. All members made friendly eye contacts and small talks with fans since they have not had the opportunity to do so for a long time. Although the event lasted short, they were able to make special memories with fans.
BOM charmingly expressed her gratitude to the fans after the singing event, saying, “I didn’t expect that so many would come. I really missed my fans.” CL also gave thanks by saying, “We are going to sing and perform as much as we can this year, so please keep sending us your love and support for us and our music.”
2NE1′s 2nd regular album includes many songs in various genre from reggae to hip hop and R&B, and it ranked No. 61 on Billboard 200, setting the highest record on the Billboard’s album chart in K-POP history. In other words, long period of hard work and preparation has finally paid off for 2NE1.
On March 16, 2NE1 will make their first TV appearance on SBS’s Inkigayo to sing one of their double title tracks, “GOTTA BE YOU,” for the first time.
