2NE1: Taking the World On

My pretty, smexy, fierce, yet cute girls, conquering the world like the bosses they are.. ^^

Almost a year after being crowned MTV Iggy’s Best New Band in the World, CL, Dara, Park Bom, and Minzy of 2NE1 returned to the states for the American leg of their New Evolution Global Tourthis summer. Following their East Coast stop in Newark on August 17, the girls stopped by our studio for a quick interview and photo shoot. As K-pop’s presence in the global music conversation continues to grow, 2NE1 sets a pretty high bar for the other K-pop acts that will try their hand at captivating American audiences in the coming months. Stay tuned for MTV K’s exclusive interview with 2NE1 about their world tour and what they’ve got in store for Blackjacks this year!

This just proves that YG artists are family, family, family! What I would give though for 1TYM to promote as one again. T_T

Time marks: Dara’s is at 0:09, Minzy’s at 0:17, Taeyang’s at 0:25, Bom’s at 0:35, CL’s at 0:43, and G-Dragon’s at 0:56.. ^_^

YG Entertainment’s Artists Have No Competitors, ‘Music Chart Relay’

It seems like YG Entertainment has taken over Korea’s music industry.

This year, YG artists 2NE1, Big Bang, Psy and Big Bang member G-Dragon have all taken turns heating up the music charts.

In June, Big Bang’s special album, Still Alive, won 1st place with their upscale talent and music.

Sister group 2NE1 also came out after Big Bang with “I Love You” and ranked number 1 on the charts as well.

Right after 2NE1, rapper Psy came out with “Gangnam Style” and placed first on the charts. He also became a world star when his music video on Youtube went viral.

After Psy’s success, Big Bang member G-Dragon came out with his solo album title song, “That XX” and ranked number 1.

There does not seem to be any stopping for YG. With G-Dragon’s recent comeback, it seems that YG will be heating up the charts until the end of this year.
