News: YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk’s Method in Making an Artist

YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk’s Method in Making an Artist

YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk is now the camera man.

On July 11, 2NE1’s “I Love You” dance video was posted on the YG official blog. He filmed the members practicing and showed off their relaxed side. This footage was filmed by Yang Hyun Suk.

Last year, the video of 2NE1’s “I am the Best” dance video was also filmed by Yang Hyun Suk gained much attention.

Yang Hyun Suk, who is a former member of famous group Seo Taiji and Boys, is now a CEO of his own entertainment company. Above all, he knows about music and dance. He knows how to move at a certain point and how to dance and make the audience shout.

Many YG idol groups talk about Yang Hyun Suk on reality TV shows. From these shows, you can see how close he is to the idol groups. Yang Hyun Suk is always with his singers. He looks over the performances and always checks up on them. He praises his artists when they do something right or show them how to fix their mistakes.

Out of many singers in Korea, YG Entertainment singers seem to have their own style. These singers have fun on stage and interact with their fans. It is because Yang Hyun Suk believes that we shouldn’t keep the artists tied to one style but rather help them grow in their own skill and talent and show it to the world.

One YG official stated, “All the events and happenings that go on are all by him. Although he is the CEO, he works hard to be on the same level as the artists, which the singers appreciate.”

Yang Hyun Suk does not have an intricate method as to how he makes his artists. He simply lets go of his title of CEO and helps his artists find their true colors and makes them shine. He believes in always experimenting and trying shocking styles.

News: 2NE1 Embrace Oldest Form of K-Pop – Mini-Album Might Be Released At The End Of The Year

2NE1 Embrace Oldest Form of K-Pop

Manufactured girl band 2NE1 have their eye squarely on the international market with a style of K-pop they have dubbed “electrot,” which combines Korea’s oldest pop genre, trot, with electronic elements.

“People outside of Asia still think of Japan or China before Korea when they hear the word ‘Asia.’ We wanted to approach the fans around the world with a novel yet very Korean music,” band members said at a press junket Friday.

2NE1 are showcasing the style with their new single “I Love You,” which they say is part of an attempt to expand into different genres.

Band member Sandara Park is quoted as saying, “We initially wanted to release an official regular album, but the process takes so long because we work so hard on every single song. So we decided to release a single and add more songs later to complete a mini-album by the end of the year.”

Starting with concerts in Seoul on June 28 and 29, 2NE1 embark on a world tour of 10 cities in seven countries including Europe, Japan and the U.S.

SBS’ ‘Inkigayo’ Eliminates Ranking System, ′Mutizen Song Award′ and ′Take 7′

Changes are a-coming for SBS’ Inkigayo.

Beginning from this week’s July 15 broadcast of SBS’ weekly music show, the show will do away with the ‘Mutizen Song’ title and ‘Take 7’ system with a new format to be instated.

According to a source close to the production, Inkigayo will strive to move away from being solely a music program and to become a music ‘show’ through a new system and a wide range of diverse stages.

In addition, more special stages including collaborations with foreign musicians are being planned.

The move will make KBS’ Music Bank the sole music program, among the three terrestrial major networks, to still utilize a ranking system.

MBC’s Music Core eliminated its ranking system in 2006.
