In the SBS ‘Inkigayo’ aired on 11th, 2NE1 sang ‘Do You Love Me.’ 2NE1 emphasized cute side of them wich drew attention of the viewers.

CL was lovely with pink polka dot outfit. Dara had her hands under her face making cute face. Bom and Minzy always made fun faces on stage.

‘Do You Love Me‘ is a song with exciting beat blended well together with member’s voice. YG Entertainment‘s main producer TEDDY wrote and composed the song.

Currently 2NE1 is being active with their career with the song ‘Do You Love Me.’ Especially, they are confirming their reputation of a charismatic performance group by staging live with great singing ability.

In KBS 2TV ‘Music Bank’ aired on 9th, 2NE1 sang ‘Do You Love Me‘ released on 7th. On stage, 2NE1 exuded special charm of their own wearing uniquely designed outfit.

Even the mikes were used as props. CL had yellow mike, Minzy had blue, Dara had red, and Bom had green, grabbing attention of the viewers.

2NE1 overwhelmed the audience with their charisma by performing powerful choreography from the start to the end. They staged different performances with some cuteness added in the middle.

2NE1 has already grabbed attention earlier by emphasizing their friendly image in the music video of ‘Do You Love Me.’

2NE1 has been striving to present high quality music videos and they invested a lot for the direction of them. However, music video of the song ‘Do You Love Me‘ is in the center of attention since it is quite different from the previous videos. YG’s 2NE1 (consisting of members CL, BOM, DARA and MINZY) and KANG SEUNG YOON made an appearance live on KBS 2TV’s music ranking program, Music Bank, in the afternoon of August 9.

On the same program, 2NE1 unveiled the new song ‘DO YOU LOVE ME’. The new song is co-produced by three producers Teddy, DEE.P., and Lydia, which is written by Teddy. The song describes a feeling of a woman in love wondering whether that love is reciprocal.

2NE1 showcased their addictive beat and lyrics with a unique outfit of belt print. Their individualistic and free performance dominated the stage.

KANG SEUNG YOON, who not long ago released his debut song ‘WILD AND YOUNG’, demonstrated his strong rocker charms to his fans.

It is the first time in 3 years since YG artists made an appearance on Music Bank in 2010. Until now YG and KBS publicly announced that there are is no friction between the two, but many assumed the announcement false when no YG artists performed on KBS’s music show.

At Music Bank, other artists like Beast, f(x), Lee Jeong-hyun, EXO, Vixx, M.I.B., Children of Empire, B.A.P., Lim Jeong-hee, Tasty, and Sunny Days were present to deliver dynamic performances.

On 8th 2NE1 appeared on ‘M!Countdown’ and sang ‘DO YOU LOVE ME’ passionately, the song released on 7th. This day, their appearance was special from the start. They wore unconventional costume made out of scarves showing off their unique charm.

As soon as the song started 2NE1 led the stage with powerful choreography. In parts in the group dance, there was also adorable dance adding the over the top performance.

At 10AM 2NE1 returned with a new friendly image via their MV ‘DO YOU LOVE ME’ grabbing everyone’s attention. After few hours they made their presence with exceptional performance on stage.

2NE1 always tried to make luxurious high quality MV putting billions of money in. However, this time ‘DO YOU LOVE ME’ was different from what they used to do in MV. Members video taped themselves like a home video using box camera on purpose showing a lot of effort, and the outcome was fresh.

‘DO YOU LOVE ME’ was composed by YG’s main producer Teddy showing fast beat with all members individual vocals in harmony.

2NE1 will be now appearing on KBS 2TV ‘Music Bank’, MBC ‘Music Core’ and SBS ‘The Music Trend’ actively pomoting their new song.

OMG YOU GUYS! /crying even happier tears from yesterday

I know some people expressed their doubts for the MV when we heard about the “home video” concept. Even us admins here in OhDara were divided on it. Personally, I was looking forward to its surely unique video and attack and wanted to see how the girls would let it all out and have crazy fun and yet make the video appealing to their fans and non-fans alike! And this video DID NOT DISAPPOINT! It was unique in the sense that it wasn’t all glossy and crisply cut, there were no giant robots, no overwhelming sets, no blinged-out props, no out of this world outfits, no crazy, crazy hairstyles.. YET it stands out in its crazy, fun simplicity! It’s refreshing to see the girls have fun with each other! I’m sure that they felt some bit of awkwardness shooting at the start, but you can see how they just stopped thinking about the filming and just went all out to have fun! 

I’ve always loved 2NE1 TV because it showed how the girls are behind the fierce stage personas, and this gave us a glimpse of it again! Love how Dara showed her dorky self, her bright smiles, cute facial expressions… and interactions with the members and the guests in the vid are a MUST-WATCH! And OH! THUNDER was in the video!!! /aspefouatjelfjkelk commence crazy fangirling AND AND AND the pool scene was shown during Dara’s part in the first verse, so we have lotsa wet, fun Dara in the pool shots! XDDD Then we have DaRin moments in the car scenes, Park Sisters moments, DaMin moments! Just 2NE1 moments enjoying their sisterhood. T_T

Last month 2NE1 returned with a reggae mixed hiphop song ‘FALLING IN LOVE’ and now in one month, they are coming back with ‘Do You Love ME’ aiming for this summer hit. CL’s solo triggered 2NE1’s success not only in unique genres like reggae but also will be promoting for ‘Do You Love ME’ which will be catchy for everyone.

Recently, 2NE1 was represented as stage amazons with charisma, who can not be approached. However, now they are revamping their image into girl next door with candy colored persona. Member Dara and Bom are paired up to promote their new song ‘Do You Love ME’. Also the teasing promos from the music video featured comic dance which was whimsy and new.

New song just one day left to be out, SWOT analysis will examine 2NE1’s potential

# Strength : 2NE1 performance, never leave us feel betrayed.

2NE1’s positioning is a little unusual. Most girl groups are organized into two categories. Sexy or cute. But 2NE1 position themselves into a charismatic girl group with over the top performances and explosive showmanship. This kind of overwhelming charisma can not be replaced.

Previous energetic songs with fast tempo such as ‘I AM THE BEST’, ‘I DONT CARE’, ‘GO AWAY’, ‘UGLY’ and so on defined who 2NE1 is.

2NE1 is one of the only girl groups who can wear revealing outfits without provoking controversy. With their passion, they even reform a luxury brand scarf into stage costume. Thanks to this tendency, in this business they are called “group of masterpiece”

# Weakness:: Always challenging, never playing safe

This year, CL’s solo album ‘Baddest Female’ was a legitimate hiphop song. Again 2NE1 made a new attempt mixing hiphop and reggae in their song ‘Falling In Love’

However, the upcoming song will be a rhythmical summer song composed by YG’s main produce Teddy. In other words, they are playing safe this time focusing on what the public like. They may gain far reaching power if this unusual group plays what the mass wants.

# Opportunity: The rising of girl groups’ power

Currently, music chart is all topped with girl groups. If you look at Melon which is the biggest online music site in Korea, f(x)’s ‘Rum Pum Pum Pum’ bowed at No1 and No2 on chart followed by Crayon Pop’s ‘Bing Bing’, Ailee ‘U&I’, Apink ‘No No No’, Brown Eyed Girls ‘Kill Bill’, Davichi ‘Missing You Today’ all lined up in top ten.

All groups from f(x) to Davichi, they have something in common. They are not only all girl groups but also have different concepts. f(x) with electronic sound and Crayon Pop with not so normal whimsy dance showing off all different identities. Ailee has a high-pitched pipes and is called as Korean Beyonce. Apink is called little S.E.S focusing on their pure image. All groups have a different identity and performance.

This may advantage 2NE1. It is easier for girl groups are the chart topper now, and with their unique performance, it is highly possible that they will success. Especially last July, they already heated up their place by topping all music charts with ‘Falling In Love’ such as in MBC ‘Music Core’, Mnet ‘M!Countdown’, and so on.

# Threat: similar concepts for girl groups

Currently the music market will be a opportunity as much as it will be a threat. So called ‘concept war’ is happening. They need to be not only sexy but also distinguish themselves from others. It may be a pressure for 2NE1, in that new singers are out with their charismatic concept.

To overcome, 2NE1 chose to be ‘girl next door.’  Until now, 2NE1 had a star charisma but now they are not just celebrities who cannot be approached. They are posting their selfies and revamping their image. Although they have strong showmanship on stage they are all very shy which made them appear less on entertainment program.

However, 2NE1 is trying to engage with their fans, which led them to film a home video of themselves in daily life. ‘Double Park’ promotion is also doing events such as offering a call taxi for their fans.

On 7th ‘Do You Love Me’ will be released and it seems like we will be seeing a new 2NE1. Although the genre is similar to ‘Falling In Love’ and the promotion ways are similar to ‘I Am The Best’ you can still sense that everything will be different. So do not be too surprised.

On 6th morning, YG Entertainment posted a second video of ‘DO YOU LOVE ME’ on their official blog(www.yg-life.com).

Following the bathroom scene, now 2NE1 released a bedroom scene. Members are grabbing attention with their comic dance to their new song ‘DO YOU LOVE ME’.

This video was filmed by Bom. Bom is encouraging her member to be more energetic and fun. Also, she is giving instructions like throw pillow feathers at Dara’s head, showing her passion.

The teaser trailer is one of the episodes form filming ‘DO YOU LOVE ME’ music video. Members are having fun in Jeju Island as their shooting concept is the girl next door. 2NE1 is showing off their impromptu dancing to their new song. Also it is whimsy how the members plan a set up in the music video.

Last week YG Entertainment representative Yang Hyun-suk expressed through ‘FROM YG’ that “I thought it will be more effective for 2NE1 to show their natural selves this time since they have always been wearing unique fashion and filming fancy music video.” He explained why 2NE1 will be shooting a home video theme music video.

On 7th 2NE1 will be releasing ‘DO YOU LOVE ME’ in succession of ‘Falling in Love’. The new track was composed by YG’s main producer. The song will be a rhythmical summer song, making people dance.

[OSEN=Lim Young-jin] Popular girl group 2NE1 shared their new track ‘Do You Love Me’ making film via YG Entertainment’s official blog. It is said that the video was filmed at Yang Hyun Suk’s summer house.

Dara Park on 5th tweeted that “Thanks to our boss we are shooting ‘Do You Love Me’ music video in Jeju Island. He is lending us his summer house and we are having fun shooting our home video! Although we made a mess while playing mad, we cleaned your place before leaving”

On the same day, 2NE1 released ‘Do You Love Me’ music video making film on the official blog. In this one minute video, 2NE1 is having fun dancing and singing their new song like a girl next door, in a bathroom.

Especially, Dara dancing with her hair rollers on, and Minzy dancing with a towel was whimsy.

2NE1’s new music video is filmed in a home video form. Last month on 29th YG entertainment representative expressed his concerns for the delay saying “Although we finished our choreography with foreign choreographer’s help, there may be a delay since we would like to film with Seo Hyun Seung director. Mostly in this kind of case, we should delay our release for about 2 weeks but if we do it will become a domino delaying every other new songs for 2NE1” He added that thus they will be shooting in a home video like form using box camera.
