On SBS’s music program Inkigayo aired in the evening of Dec 8, 2NE1 was up against Hyorin, a member of SISTAR, who sang ‘One Way Love’. And the final victory was seized by the girl group, 2NE1.

With the trophy in her hands, DARA from 2NE1 thanked all the staff members who worked hard with them and the fans, along with the staff members of the program, Inkigayo.

2NE1 has been proving their endless popularity by ranking #1 on other music programs including MBC’s Show! Music Center and cable channel Mnet’s M Countdown.

Missing You’ that helped them win the latest trophy is a follow-up single of their two previous songs, ‘Falling in Love’ and ‘Do You Love Me’ this year. The latest sentimental song is one that is perfect for winter, with the four members’ astonishing harmony.

On the day at SBS’s Inkigayo, other artists like EXO, mix A, Hyorin, FT Island, T-ara, Crayon Pop, Nine Muses, Huh Gak, Vixx, Untouchable, Ajax, Tasty, Shin Ji Hoon, History, 100%, V, M.I.B., Heyne, Jevice, N.Sonic and 2BiC also made an appearance to deliver dynamic performances

Through her Twitter on December 5th, she said on her post “We became the 1st place on ‘M! Countdown”. Other than saying thank you, we have nothing else to say. During the encore, we promised to have sad expressions but I was so happy that I ended up laughing. We will give back with better songs and performances on the stage” and posted a picture along with it.

In the picture that was revealed, Dara shows a bright smile and is staring at the camera. She was giving polite bows holding her skirt to say thanks to the fans and got the attention.

When people saw this, they replied in various ways saying ‘“Missing You” is really good. It is a perfect song to listen to in winter”, “Congratulations on becoming the 1st place on M Countdown! and lets continue to be the 1st place” and “You are pretty but your heart is also pretty” and so on.

Sandara Park and Brother Thunder Raising Money For ‘Yolanda’ Victims

2NE1′s Sandara Park and her brother, MBLAQ’s Thunder (also known as Cheondung), have launched an online campaign to raise money for people affected by Typhoon “Yolanda” in the Philippines.

Sandara and Thunder, who lived in the Philippines for many years before embarking on their singing careers in South Korea, are aiming to raise 5 million won (about P206,000) by Dec. 24.

The campaign was launched by the two singers together with WEGENERATION and World Share.

Typhoon “Yolanda” lashed out the Philippines that left scores of people dead, injured and missing.

In her message posted on WEGENERATION’s YouTube channel, Sandara said they consider the Philippines as their second home.

“As many of you already know, my brother Thunder and I spent many years in the Philippines. The Philippines, a country we consider our second home, are in much need of your help,” said Sandara, according to WeGenTV.

She added, “In response to the current desperate situation, Thunder and I, together with WEGENERATION and the charity organization World Share decided launch an emergency aid campaign for the Philippines.”

In the aftermath of the typhoon, Sandara said, “To make the situation worse, as the monsoon season approaches, there is a great fear of an outbreak of diseases caused by humidity, wracked houses, and unfound corpses.”

“Please help out the people of the Philippines by supporting this campaign!” she said.

As their way of giving back to the donors to the campaign, Sandara and Cheondung will be giving them their personal items.

“By draw, WEGENERATION will be giving out some of the treasured items of Sandara and Thunder to the people who donate,” Sandara added.

“We cannot do it ‘alone,’ but we can do it “’together’!  Thank you for your support!” she said.

Sandara Park joined ABS-CBN’s “Star Circle Quest” in 2004, which became her launch pad for her career in the entertainment industry in the Philippines.  She became an actress and a singer in the country before going to Korea and joining 2NE1.

Thunder grew up and studied in the Philippines before he became a member of MBLAQ.

2NE1 has many fans around the world, but Dara has taken the time to write a personal letter to a special Blackjack.

Recently, a letter has been spreading around the Internet addressed to Dara of 2NE1 about a Blackjack named Loreign. In the letter written by a member of the K-pop community, we learn that Loreign has been battling cancer.

“It may not be much, but we were hoping perhaps a mention from you would give her the boost she needs to pull through this critical stage and live out the rest of her days with one more happy memory,” says the letter.

Since then, Dara has responded by writing a personal note to Loreign to encourage the 2NE1 fan to stay strong and fight hard.

Sadly, it has been reported by members of the Blackjack community that Loreign has passed away.

“Our fellow Blackjack Loreign has passed away today, she was a really big fan of Dara and 2NE1. I never knew Loreign personally but the fact that she was a fellow Blackjack really made me realized how I love this fandom and 2NE1,” writes a Blackjack on YouTube.

“On the letter they wrote Dara on Twitter it said that Loreign watched the MAMA awards and how proud she was of Dara because she sang beautifully. Let’s take a moment and listen to this song and remember our fellow Blackjack Loreign.”

Since Loreign’s passing, Blackjacks around the world have come together and give their condolences, and the song “Missing You” has been especially dedicated to her by 2NE1 fans everywhere.

With much love and sorrow, hopefully 2NE1 and Dara helped ease Loreign’s pain.

2NE1 were guests on the recent episode of SBS radio show ‘Choi Hwa Jung’s Power Time’, where they talked about a variety of topics including fashion and television drama ‘The Heirs’.

During the broadcast, CL revealed that the members often don’t follow what their stylists had prepared for them. As for airport fashion, CL said, “We find it really fun and interesting when we depart from Korea, but strangely, it’s really difficult when we return home.”

The members then chatted about popular drama ‘The Heirs’. Park Bom said, “I recently fell in love with Kim Tan (Lee Min Ho) from SBS TV drama ‘The Heirs’. ‘The Heirs’ is one of my favourite shows in recent times.” Sandara Park then said that her favourite character in the drama was Choi Young Do (Kim Woo Bin), while Gong Minzy picked Trash (Jung Woo) from ‘Reply 1994’. But CL said, “I haven’t see the 2 dramas that they are referring to, so I am not really clear.”

Choi Hwa Jung then complimented Minzy for looking prettier than before, to which the latter answered, “I did a lot of slimming exercises, so I looked a bit prettier. I did more physical exercises in the past, but I am focusing more on doing stretching exercises and Pilates lately. I have to take good care of my own body figure.”

Meanwhile, 2NE1 has managed to rank highly on music charts with ‘Missing You’ for 3 consecutive weeks, while also winning #1 on the November 7th episode of MBC ‘Show! Music Core’ and the November 8th episode of SBS TV ‘Popular Song’.

Korean pop group 2NE1 will be appearing as guests in the new season of the American dating show “The Bachelor.

The reality TV show will premiere on Jan. 6 next year on ABC with 32-year-old Juan Pablo Galavis, a former professional football player, as the bachelor.

As part of the new season’s dating trips in different parts of the world, Galavis and the bachelorettes went to Seoul in South Korea, Vietnam, New Zealand, Salt Lake City in Utah, Miami and St. Lucia.

According to ABC, one of the highlights of the season include private concerts by 2NE1, Romeo Santos and Josh Krajcik.

In Seoul, Galavis and six bachelorettes appear as backup dancers at 2NE1′s mini-concert at Times Square mall in Seoul. The taping in Seoul was held last September.

“Jetting off to Seoul, South Korea, Juan Pablo and the remaining women are submerged into a totally different culture,” according to ABC.

It said the Galavis and his bachelorettes were surprised when they learned that they would be the backup dancers for the K-pop group in front of fans.

“Six women are introduced to the South Korean K-pop superstar group 2NE1 who teach them one of their choreographed dances. They are shocked to find out that they will perform as their back up dancers in front of a huge audience of screaming fans,” ABC added.

From Seoul, Galavis and the women went to Vietnam, New Zealand, Miami and St. Lucia. Galavis is a single dad from Miami and his quest for love begins when he meets 27 bachelorettes.

On December 1st, through her Twitter, Dara uploaded a posting saying “2NE1 became the 1st place on Popular Music. I am so happy and grateful. Since it is a sad song, I was worried that the mood might go down during the encore but, it was the best harmony in singing since the song ‘Can’t Nobody’. The atmosphere was really nice. I am so happy. Thank you” and posted a picture along with it.

In the picture, Dara is staring at the camera with a big purple hat. A gold hair and a thick make-up look good on her.

People who saw this replied by saying “Congratulations”, “I also voted for you” and “The song is really good” and so on.

According to 2NE1’s agency on the 2 this month, “Missing You” has topped the real-time chart and then the daily chart of iChart.

An insider of the agency says, “2NE1 appealed with a differentiated charm, different from the strong image and extreme fashion they pursued in the past. “Missing You” is a pop-R&B style music, whose sentimental lyrics and appealing vocal catch ears.

Not only the music itself but also the music video of “Missing You” is enjoying much popularity. As of the morning on the 2, the music video garnered more than 6.1 million views on YouTube.

The dreamy music video of “Missing You” has also drawn much attention with CL’s naked performance.

2NE1 will hold a world tour next year, starting from Seoul in March and then in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and Japan.

[스타뉴스 길혜성 기자] YG’s four-girl group 2NE1 (with members CL, DARA, BOM and MINZY) once again topped the chart on SBS’s music program Inkigayo, which means this is their third trophy in just one week.

At Inkigayo held in the evening of Dec 1 at SBS Open Hall, 2NE1 won the trophy by ranking #1 with their newly released mellow ballad song ‘Missing You.’ This was the first time 2NE1 topped the chart on this particular program with the song both written and composed by YG’s main producer, Teddy.

2NE1 had already topped music charts this week on the music-specializing cable channel Mnet’s M Countdown on Nov 28 and MBC’s Show! Music Center on Nov 30. And the latest trophy on Inkigayo marks their whopping third grand prize in just a single week with the new song ‘Missing You’.

The airing of M Countdown was cancelled, and 2NE1 was unable to attend Show! Music Center, so Inkigayo was the first for them to personally receive the award and expressed their impression on the trophy.

Upon receiving the award, CL, the leader of 2NE1, commented, “I thank our boss, Yang Hyun Suk, and congratulate Teddy, the producer,” while also appreciating the fans for their support.
