美-빌보드-2NE1-순위진입-가능성-집중-조명1

[OSEN=박현민 기자] American Billboard mentioned the chance of 2NE1’s entry into Billboard chart, in its special feature about 2NE1 who will come back with a regular album soon, four years after the release of their first album in 2010.

On the 13 this month, YG Entertainment’s head producer Yang Hyun Suk announced the release of 2NE1’s second regular album by posting the first FROM YG message in a year on YG’s official blog (www.yg-life.com). The news has been welcomed by 2NE1 fans in and out the country and now, Billboard has expressed its interest in the new album of 2NE1, which is attracting keen attention from music fans.

On the 12 (local time), Billboard expressed its expectations for 2NE1’s new album, saying, “According to a posting on YG’s blog by Yang Hyun Suk, the head producer of 2NE1’s label and one of the “2014 Billboard International Power Players”, 2NE1’s new album titled “CRUSH” will be filled with wholly new songs”.

Billboard drew attention with its presumption that “One of 2NE1’s singles released in Japan will be translated into Korean to be included in the album. The song is highly likely to be “Scream”, a single released in 2012, which stayed in the top 20 place in “Japan Hot 100”.

Plus, Billboard cited the FROM YG message posted by Yang, to say, “There will be three songs directly written and composed by leader CL for the first time, in the new album. Those new songs will be disclosed for the first time at Seoul concert of 2NE1’s world tour on March 1. On February 24, all the songs will be released and the teaser of the music video will be also disclosed.”

Billboard went on to mention the music video that will be disclosed on the 28. Billboard expressed its special expectations for the music video by stating, “Past music videos of 2NE1 seem to have needed quite a large amount of budget. Notably, Yang referred to the new music video, that ‘the largest-ever amount of budget was put into the music video and a high quality computer graphic work was necessary’”.

Billboard also drew music fans’ attention, saying, “Because 2NE1 has carried out a series of promotions in the United States, including their appearance in America’s Arena Show and other TV shows, they have a high chance of entering Billboard top 200”.

Meanwhile, the music of 2NE1’s second regular album will be disclosed on on-line music streaming websites on the 24 at midnight. 2NE1 will present the performance of the songs of their second regular album for the first time at Seoul concert of their second world tour “AON(ALL OR NOTHING)”, which will be held on March 1 and 2 at Olympic Park SK Olympic Handball Hall located in Seoul.

News: 500 Million Won Budgeted for 2NE1’s New MV: Top Secret Work With New Director

500 MILLION WON BUDGETED FOR 2NE1’S NEW MV: TOP SECRET WORK WITH NEW DIRECTOR

단독-2NE1-뮤비에-5억원-투입..신예-감독과-극비-작업

[OSEN=이혜린 기자] YG’s girl group 2NE1 is about to showcase a grand scale music on Feb 24.

2NE1’s new full album, the first one in 6 years, is to be filled with new songs. And their music video is worth a whopping 500 million won. This blockbuster-level video is even unprecedented for YG, an entertainment agency that often showcases grand MV’s.

To set it apart from other MV’s, new directors and staffers were involved in the making. Which director is involved is kept as top secret, but according to the crew, it is done by someone completely new who has never worked on music videos yet.

YANG HYUN SUK, on YG’s official blog uploaded on Feb 13, wrote about the comeback, “The music video (MV) of 2NE1’s latest title song, which is an MV with the largest budget for the group, requires high level of computer graphic work. So a teaser video will be unveiled first on February 24th, and then a completed version on February 28th.”

He added, “2NE1’s 2nd full album is titled “CRUSH,” which means “break” or “destroy,” but could also be used when saying “having a crush on someone.” Since this is the first album in many years, rather than focusing on the structural aspect of the album, we put more thoughts and effort into choosing every single soundtrack, as though every one of them is the title song.”

There will be a total of 10 songs in this album, and 3 of them are composed by CL. 2NE1’s first performance will be held at Seoul concert of their 2nd World Tour on March 1.

New 2NE1 Album ‘CRUSH’ To Feature 3 Songs By CL, According To YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk

838592593

YG Entertainment co-founder and CEO Yang Hyun Suk sent his yearly message to fans on Wednesday, a practical State of the Union for the K-pop label.

And though Yang’s letter covered a variety of topics, the majority of the music mogul’s message was devoted to the popular girl group 2NE1.

“Just hearing the name 2NE1 makes our hearts throb,” Yang wrote.

“People who are not familiar with the details might think I am overreacting when I say that, but I do so because 2NE1, who made their debut six years ago, will be unveiling a full-length album of new material of for the very first time.”

He then launched into a brief history of the group’s recordings.

“2NE1 released their first album four years ago in September of 2010, but it was an album with just a few new songs added to previous [material that had been released on] soundtracks,” Yang wrote.

Their new 2NE1 album, “CRUSH,” is scheduled for release on Feb. 24.

According to Yang, the band’s frontwoman, CL, stepped up her level of creative involvement on the album.

“The part that you have to really look at in 2NE1’s new album is that CL, the leader, included a whopping three songs that she composed, for the first time ever in her life,” he wrote.

“You are the ones to judge the quality of her music. But when I first listened to CL’s very own song, the one word that described my feeling was ‘surprised.’ Which is only natural, because I have known CL for eight years and I never expected her to produce a song like this, and the song was too good to be her very first one.”

“CL is one of the very few South Korean female rappers who is known for her charismatic performance and outstanding fashion sense, and I am sure creating her own song will act as a foothold for CL to take another leap forward,” he added.

“I can tell that this will bring big changes to 2NE1’s future music, while also lighting a path for CL to produce her own solo album.”

News: 2NE1 Announces Full-Length Album ‘Crush,’ New Single Details

2NE1 Announces Full-Length Album ‘Crush,’ New Single Details

2NE11

Details of the K-pop phenoms’ first LP in almost four years, along with CL’s solo news, come to light

After nearly four years of waiting, 2NE1 fans were gifted a load of exciting details about 2NE1’s upcoming full-length album — and it’s coming soon!

According to a blog post from the chief producer of 2NE1’s record label Yang Hyun-Suk — one of Billboard’s International Power Players of 2014 — the new LP “Crush” will feature 10 completely new songs. Since summer 2012, 2NE1 has dropped four K-Pop Hot 100 chart smashes, including the No. 1 hit “I Love You,”plus “Falling in Love,” “Do You Love Me?” and “Missing You,” which all peaked at No. 2. According to the blog post, the only song fans will have heard before will be a past single 2NE1 released in Japan translated into Korean. This will likely be the 2012 single “Scream,” a Top 20 hit on the Japan Hot 100.

Yang added that the girl group’s leader, rapper/singer CL, wrote and composed three songs for the record. He also mentioned that this is the first time CL had done either and is a “positive sign for CL to produce her own solo album,” which the K-pop star first mentioned to Billboard last year. He said CL’s solo album is also expected to be released by the end of 2014.

The girl group will perform the new material for the first time at its March 1 Seoul tour date, which kicks off its new tour. So far, only dates in Asia have been revealed.

“Crush” will drop in its entirety on Feb. 24, along with a teaser video of the yet-to-be-announced single.

The video for that new single is expected on Feb. 28 and was described by Yang as having “the largest budget for the group” and required a “high level of computer graphic work” — all of which is quite impressive considering 2NE1’s past music videos appear to have huge budgets. (See “I Am the Best” below)

K-pop fans may also recognize this is the same day Girls’ Generation drops its new album. With both groups boasting two humongous fanbases both domestic and international, this will be a chart battle that spans multiple Billboard charts. Since their last album release, 2NE1’s domestic fanbase has grown considerably after a few Stateside promotions from arena shows to appearing on primetime TV, making them very possible contenders to make their first appearance on the Billboard 200.

Official/News: From YG – “News About 2NE1” Part 2 ~ 2NE1’s Double Title Song + Music Video Details

FROM YG: NEWS ABOUT ‘2NE1’: PART 2

So, continuing with the news on 2NE1.

We have urgently postponed 2NE1’s 2nd album release date from the original schedule of 12am on February 24th to 12am on February 26th <which is 0 hour of February 27th>. The offline album will be released on March 7th as planned.

The reason for the urgent change of date is to release the album on a more special day instead, as CL’s birthday falls on February 26th, especially because whopping three songs composed and written by CL for the first time are included in the 2nd album.

I ask for your generosity and understanding for the change.

Details on 2NE1’s titles song?

As this is the first full album released for the first time after several years, we are ambitious to showcase as many songs as we can, but since we are at a point where careful selection and focus are required, we chose two songs for double title songs.

2NE1’s first title song is “COME BACK HOME.”
Many of you would be reminded of the mega-hit “COME BACK HOME” released by Seotaeji and Boys in 1995, but 2NE1’s upcoming track is a completely different, filled with melody and lyrics about yearning for the long-gone lover.

This is a joint work of YG’s main producer TEDDY and other producers, which encompasses a crossover mixture of R&B, reggae and hip-hop. The noteworthy feature of the 2nd album is the unplugged version of “COME BACK HOME”

The two different versions are greatly different from each other, so we produced two music videos for both songs, which will be released on February 28th simultaneously.

The second title song “GOTTA BE YOU”
A joint work by YG’s producers TEDDY and PK, is a fast-paced song that leaves an impact through BOM’s powerful cry of “Gotta Be You.”

We made the decision to make this the second title song as it has an impression of mainstream taste.

How many music videos will be produced for the 2nd album?

A total of four music videos will be showcased this time.

As mentioned earlier, the two versions of “COME BACK HOME” music videos will be released simultaneously on February 28th, and the other double title song GOTTA BE YOU” will come next, and the music video of a song titled “HAPPY” filmed in the U.S. will follow.

The track list of 2NE1’s 2nd album will be released tomorrow at 10pm.

This is all I have for 2NE1’s album, and I will be back with information on YG’s new groups that will be revealed this year.

Thank you.
