Girl group 2NE1 has been recognized as the next generation’s best new band in the world.
On the 11th, one of the music networks run by music channel MTV, called MTV Iggy, named 2NE1 as the “Best New Band In the World,” ranking 1st among the Top 10 candidates.
On that day, MTV IGGY wrote, “Any band releasing a song titled “I Am the Best” rarely gets the chance to prove it,” they said, “But for K-pop sensation 2NE1, it only took a few short months,” they finished.
2NE1 rose to the top in a great competition of musicians, after beating out the other top 10 contestants like UK’s “Ghostpoet,” America’s “Skrillex,” and other musicians coming from other countries like Mexico, Australia, Venezuela, etc.
2NE1 said, “From the moment we were nominated in the top 10, we were already so happy, and the people around us took a lot of interest in it too. We’re so happy that we actually won, we can’t believe it. It hasn’t hit us yet. Thank you,” giving their sentiments.
The ranking was determined through online voting, getting votes from different users all over the world, and in the six weeks of voting, 2NE1 obtained the most number of votes.
“Best New Band Top 10” is believed to be a good opportunity to enter the mainstream music in the United States, in fact, group “Far East Movement” gained attention through the same program.
