“Superstar K3” 2NE1 Sandara Park – CL Dorm Visit, Park Gwang Sun’s Mouth Fell Open

2NE1’s Sandara Park and CL, made an appearance at the dorm of the top 4.

On October 28th, Mnet aired “Super Star K3” where top 4, Oohlala Session, Busker Busker, Two Months, and Christina. were given their mission by the judges, Lee Seung Chul, Yoon Jong Shin, and Yoon Mi Rae.

In the broadcast, it was revealed that the mission was given to them by CL and Sandara Park. Prior to that, Kang Seung Yoon, Jang Jae In, and John Park also gave a suprise visit to the Top 4, so they were surprised that there were other visitors that followed.

Oohlala Session’s leader, Park Gwang Sun, revealed his thoughts of Sandara Park in an interview “I’ve never seen such a beautiful woman in my life, I wanted to keep her and put her in my pocket,”he confessed. Busker Busker’s Kyu, said, “CL’s force is really exceptional. The facial expressions were impressive,” he said, noting CL‘s expressions.

When they visited the dorm, Sandara Park said, “I saw Christina-ssi’s performance for Lonely last week,” after this, she told them of their mission, “Your mission is to perform an excellent stage from one of the judges’ songs,” she said.

After this, Christina said to Sandara Park, “Can we please do a handshake, even once?” she asked. After their handshake, Park Gwang Sun rushed towards Sandara Park to also shake hands, arousing laughter.

Feature: 2NE1 at #22 on MTV’s Music Meter

So, what is MTV’s Music Meter?

MTV Music Meter provides music lovers with news and information about up-and-coming acts.

For this project, MTV worked with music intelligence company EchoNest to develop an algorithm that combs through blogs, social media, video and more traditional metrics (like radio plays and sales) to determine which bands are receiving the most attention on any given day. Fans can click on any band to listen to 30-second sections of songs (via Rhapsody), watch music videos, see photos, read tweets about that artist as well as news and bios, and find bands that are similar to the artist in question.

(You can only listen to 30-second clips right now, but in the future Rhapsody users — and other music subscription service users — will be able to listen to full songs as MTV adds more sources for tracks.)

Users can also search for any artist — even those who aren’t all that buzzy — and delve into news, music and check out artists of the same ilk.

“One of the ways MTV has helped people find great music is through curation,” says Shannon Connolly, VP of digital music strategy. Now, she says, the network can help people get access to more bands, more easily — especially bands who might not be able to get on-air play in traditional settings.

According to MTV, this tool is currently only available as a website and as part of the forthcoming MTV Music ID pack from Sprint, but should be coming to iPhone and Android devices by the year’s end.

“The traditional methods of measuring artists’ popularity are somewhat antiquated,” Connolly says, mentioning how MTV could, in the future, track such things as Foursquare checkins to measure concert attendance. It’s no longer about album sales alone, anymore — it’s about engagement.

The fact that such established music information sources as MTV and Billboard are now gauging artists’ popularity by their social media cache really highlights how important a strong online presence has become for an artist’s success.

Feature/Photos: 2NE1 Attends the Opening of Balmain in Ginza, Japan

The stylish ladies of 2NE1 who are often dressed in Balmain attended the store opening of Balmain‘s first flagship store in Ginza, Japan on September 16, 2011.

Park Bom (박봄) wore a metallic blouse from Balmain Fall/Winter 2011 collection. I love how the blouse was styled differently with a knot, those earrings are pretty major. Christian Louboutin Ziggy booties to complete her outfit. The only bad thing about it is.. you don’t know if she’s wearing any pants in this picture

Sandara Park (박산다라) opted for a much sportier outfit. Styling her metallic bomber jacket from BalmainFall/Winter 2011 with black denims and a pair silver sandals.

Leader, CL (이채린) was most likely the one dressed with the most expensive clothing from Balmain. The suede fur jacket alone, cost a whopping USD$12,475.00. A distressed sequin blous and jeans also fromBalmain Fall/Winter 2011 and Christian Louboutin Ziggy booties to complete her pretty bad-ass look.

Minzy (공민지) was my least favorite at the event. As much as I love the metallic nappa leather blazer on the runway, I can’t say the same on her. The color doesn’t work with her lilac hair.

Festival of Dreams “YG Family Concert” has been decided to be finally held in Japan!

The “YG Family Concert” that would be held in both Korea and Japan, is expected to bring in a total of 200,000 people.

YG ENTERTAINMENT will be celebrating their 15th year in Korea, and they will be holding concert performances to commemorate this event, and with a concert in Japan included, this would be their largest gathering in history.

The concerts in Japan would be held on January 7, 2012, Saturday, at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, and also on January 21 (Saturday)and 22 (Sunday) at the Saitama Super Arena Stadium.
