Article: 2NE1’s Dara Wants to Act as a Mute Character in a Tragic Story

2NE1’s Dara expressed her desire to act as a character that contrasts greatly from her image.

On the December 14 broadcast of KBS2TV’s “Entertainment Weekly,” Dara expressed her dreams to be an actress. During the interview, the singer stated, “I have a dream to be a lovely actress. I would like to act in a tragic story as a woman who has developed aphasia.” In addition she expressed, “People say that when they hear my voice it sounds very happy and sweet. So, I would like to act with my eyes and emotions as someone who cannot speak, so please contact me,” causing people to laugh.

Although humorous, Dara’s eager desire to act in a serious role displayed her wide range of ambitions. Furthermore, in regards to love, the singer said, “President Yang Hyung Suk always says ‘Dara, it’s now time to meet a boyfriend. If you have someone you like, bring him here, and I will kill him, “causing another round of laughter.

Recently, 2NE1 released their single, “Missing You,” that showcased the group’s ability to portray a wide range of emotions.

Article: Dara Sends a Message to Yang Hyun Suk on Her Love Life on 2NE1’s Guerilla Date

After their fan service on the streets of Hongdae, 2NE1 sat down with ‘Entertainment Relay‘ and was asked about the artistic nude scene in their “Missing You” MV. CL shared the BTS story, “It felt like no outfit would match with the song. I made the choice and told the director that I would do it… I don’t regret it. And when I become an old grandma later on, I think this will remain as a good memory.” Dara asked, “But why were there four bathtubs there? I got surprised when I saw that.” CL revealed, “They were probably for the members”, Dara then started getting frantic and immediately started to whisper to Park Bom and CL calmed her down, saying, “Look here, mother… That is our unni’s nickname. Because she might get offended if we tell her, ‘Unni, we have to do this.’ So if we say, ‘mother’, she doesn’t mind.” When asked about their maknae, “How is [Minzy] when she practices before going on stage?”, Park Bom threw a hilarious compliment, “To be honest, I think she’s crazy.”

In response to her aspirations as an actress, “You want to be a pure and innocent actress”, Dara revealed her ideal role, “I want my first role to be a woman who has a case of aphasia… I heard that my voice sounds very happy. So I want to try a role involving acting with eye contact and emotions without any lines of a woman with aphasia. Please contact me.”

“Dara sshi, I heard that you normally have a lot of things you want to say to CEO Yang Hyun Suk?” Dara told Yang Hyun Suk in a video message, “You said this before, Dara ya, you should meet a boyfriend now. If there is someone you like, definitely bring him over so I can kill him.” When asked, “If you dream about it, wow do you think you’ll meet a man?” Park Bom got lost in fantasy as she shared, “A man who liked me from afar until now. A handsome guy. And if he confesses, saying, ‘I like you.'” The reporter held her hand and told her, “Mother, you watch too many dramas.”

CL shared, “We have a tour lined up across Asia starting in Seoul this coming March. We also want to hold a tour in Europe and the States.” When asked, “What is 31 to Park Bom?” Park Bom answered in content, “Ice cream.” When asked, “What is 2NE1 to Minzy?”, Minzy replied, “2NE1 is love.”

2NE1 and DJ DOC will be the first guests on the revamped variety show ‘Beatles Code 3D’!

In other exciting news, Shin Dong Yup and Super Junior‘s Shindong are teaming up as the new main MCs joined by MBLAQ‘s Mir and indie band Soran‘s Ko Young Bae. The new host panel held their first filming on December 11 with the guests.

Mnet confirmed the new MC lineup on the 11th, ”Shin Dong Yup and Shindong have been confirmed as the MCs of ‘Beatles Code 3D’… [‘Beatles Code 3D’] will premiere on the 24th.”

‘Beatles Code 3′ will air a prologue special on the 17th and premiere on the 24th at 11 PM KST!

YG-Life: GD-2NE1 are not Appearing in “MBC Gayo Daejejeon” … YG Singers will be Absent

[조이뉴스24 이미영기자] Fans will not see YG artists including G-DRAGON and 2NE1 in “2013 MBC Gayo Dajejeon”, MBC’s pop music festival held at the end of every year.

An MBC insider said “YG ENTERTAINMENT’s artists will not appear in “2013 MBC Gayo Dajejeon” that will be held on the 31 this month. As of now, no performance of YG singers is scheduled.”

YG singers drew much attention when they appeared in “MBC Gayo Daejejeon” last year after four years of absence. At that time, 2NE1, BIGBANG, Epik High, LEE HI gave solo and collaboration performances, and Psy sent a video message. However, they have decided not to appear in the festival this year, making many people curious about the reason.

Before that, YG singers drew attention too, as people wondered about whether they will appear in “KBS Music Awards”, music awards held at the end of every year as well.

However, the possibility is not that high, according to an insider.

On the other hand, YG singers have confirmed to perform on the stage of “2013 SBS Music Festival”, SBS TV’s end-of-the-year music awards. 2NE1’s CL has recently come under the spotlight, as her collaboration performance with Lee Hyolee for the awards was decided.

Meanwhile, KBS “Music Awards” will be live-broadcasted on the 27, “2013 SBS Music Festival” on the 29, and “2013 MBC Gayo Daejejeon” on the 31.

Sandara Park and Brother Thunder Raising Money For ‘Yolanda’ Victims

2NE1′s Sandara Park and her brother, MBLAQ’s Thunder (also known as Cheondung), have launched an online campaign to raise money for people affected by Typhoon “Yolanda” in the Philippines.

Sandara and Thunder, who lived in the Philippines for many years before embarking on their singing careers in South Korea, are aiming to raise 5 million won (about P206,000) by Dec. 24.

The campaign was launched by the two singers together with WEGENERATION and World Share.

Typhoon “Yolanda” lashed out the Philippines that left scores of people dead, injured and missing.

In her message posted on WEGENERATION’s YouTube channel, Sandara said they consider the Philippines as their second home.

“As many of you already know, my brother Thunder and I spent many years in the Philippines. The Philippines, a country we consider our second home, are in much need of your help,” said Sandara, according to WeGenTV.

She added, “In response to the current desperate situation, Thunder and I, together with WEGENERATION and the charity organization World Share decided launch an emergency aid campaign for the Philippines.”

In the aftermath of the typhoon, Sandara said, “To make the situation worse, as the monsoon season approaches, there is a great fear of an outbreak of diseases caused by humidity, wracked houses, and unfound corpses.”

“Please help out the people of the Philippines by supporting this campaign!” she said.

As their way of giving back to the donors to the campaign, Sandara and Cheondung will be giving them their personal items.

“By draw, WEGENERATION will be giving out some of the treasured items of Sandara and Thunder to the people who donate,” Sandara added.

“We cannot do it ‘alone,’ but we can do it “’together’!  Thank you for your support!” she said.

Sandara Park joined ABS-CBN’s “Star Circle Quest” in 2004, which became her launch pad for her career in the entertainment industry in the Philippines.  She became an actress and a singer in the country before going to Korea and joining 2NE1.

Thunder grew up and studied in the Philippines before he became a member of MBLAQ.

Dara as Jessy and CL as Daria: Which female idols could act  as prominent American TV characters?

We have done which idols fit certain roles in Hollywood and Anime.  Up next is the wonderful world of television!  Likewise, there are many well-known and popular characters so which female idols could act in the Korean versions?  Obviously, the two cultures are widely different so bear with us while we try to make it work.

1. Dara as Jess (New Girl)


As a member of the fierce and tough 2NE1, Dara is not always the most girly female idol out there for sure, whereas Jess is a pretty girly character who always wears very cute dresses and high-waisted shorts.  Regardless, the most important thing is that they are both super 4-dimensional characters.  They are weird and interesting to the max, which is why I think Dara would do a good job of portraying the character in the appropriately lovable manner.  Not to mention, both Dara and Zooey Deschanel look way young for their age.  Of course, as Dara would assumably be in the Korean version, it would a very mild version of the show…

 

 

CL also on the list as  Daria, a very witty,sarcastic, and cynical high schooler  who does not give a crap what people think about her…which I think CL fits right in. Both are tough ladies internally. CL does not seem the type to care other people think about her. She would play this role down really well; she  would just need to tone down the fierceness and go for more a subtle ,blunt, and monotone type of feel.

Jessy Mendiola, Maria Mercedes (Philippine’s telenovela remake) star, shared a story about meeting and talking to Sandara Park when she revisited South Korea.

Jessy flew to South  Korea last Oct.29, 2013 and stayed there for  5 days for her Korean Premium Tour, where in she been able to visit Korea’s famous landmarks.

She  got a chance to met Sandara while she was there.

“It was my first time to met her, Krung Krung as in Krung  Krung…” Jessy said about Dara during her press launch as Honorary Korea  Tourism Ambassador last Nov. 27, 2013 at The Manila Peninsula Hotel, Makati City.

When Sandara was still in the local showbiz, “Pambansang Krung Krung” was her moniker, wherein it pertains to her Funny and Unique personality.

Sandara joined ABS-CBN artist search Star Circle Quest Season 1 last 2004 and became a runner-up to the winner Hero Angeles who later on became Dara’s on-screen partner. When Dara career in PH went down, she and her family decided to return to South Korea.

Most of the Filipinos were surprised after a few years, when Sandara became a member of the All-female singing group called 2NE1 (now a very popular group in Korea).

Sandara’s billboard can be seen in various places around Seoul.

“Sandara is very popular in Korea, you can see her faces every where”  said Jessy.

Jessy laughed when Sandara could not believe when she told her that “Sandara is very popular in the Philippines and Filipinos still love her very much”.

When they  met Dara was a little bit tired, because she just came from an event, but still Dara was game to talked with Jessy.

“We talked about how she is and if she misses the Philippines.”

“Dara said she wants to visit the Philippines but not sure if she will be permitted”

Noong October 29 lumipad si Jessy sa South Korea.

Nagkaroon din si Jessy ng pagkakataon na makita si Sandara habang naroon siya.

“Sabi niya, gusto na niyang bumalik dito, gusto niyang bumisita.

[OSEN=Hwang Mi-hyun] Group 2NE1’s ‘Missing You’ topped on Mnet ‘M!Countdown’ in the last week of November.

According to YG, 2NE1 proved their fame by topping in ‘M!Countdown’ which was canceled on 28th

2NE1 scored top in Gaon download chart and digital chart in the last week of November.

‘Missing You’ generated positive buzz and dominated the sound source charts as soon as it was released on 21.

Meanwhile, ‘M!Countdown’ will not be aired today due to production staffs return from ‘Mnet Asian Music Awards’ aired on 22.
