About 2NE1
“This is extremely amazing! Check out 2NE1’s activities!”
They debuted in Korea on 2009, and on that same year, during the 「Mnet Asia Music Awards」 they bagged the Artist of the Year (T/N: Actually, they won Best New Female Artist in MAMA 2009, they won Artist of the Year in MAMA 2010), and dominated when they won 3 more awards, and getting major music awards from other bodies too. And from that instant, they have been recognized as top artists, despite their rookie status.
The girls are headed back to Japan! Dara’s fashion is so nice and simple. ^_^ These pictures were taken by the loyal Korean Blackjacks who came to bid them farewell at the Gimpo Airport! Thanks for the effort you guys! And good luck in Japan once again, 2NE1! Fighting!

Black Eyed Peas’ Will.I.Am is only one of the top artists who expressed his high praises for the talented South Korean group, 2NE1, who are finally debuting in Japan with the release of their first album, NOLZA. Their debut album is a mix of R&B and HIPHOP, showing a unique variety of music.
Member CL said 『This is the product of 2NE1’s essence and ambitious work』.
DARA Our producer, TEDDY, especially gave it an expressive power, and the vocals were good, giving it an excellent finish. I recommend the song 『 I AM THE BEST』 when driving, 『naega jeil jalnaga』 it makes me want to sing.
CL
The Intro remained in Korean, and some of the PHRASES too, it was our first time to sing in Japanese. We retained some of the original Korean to save nuances.
BOM
I have trouble when recording Japanese and Korean because of my pronunciation, which is a mess.
MINZY
In the UGLY MV, there was fire and explosions. Because we stayed up all night shooting it, we took special care about it looked. In addition, because of DON’T STOP THE MUSIC’s tempo, I sing it when I hope to relieve some tension.
Beginning on September 19th, they will meet 70,000 Japanese fans in their first live concert.
BOM
At first, I really felt pressured, but before we debuted in Japan, BIG BANG’s SOL told me, 『In Japan, just do the same work as you do in Korea. Don’t let is put pressure on your shoulders, but just enjoy it.』 And because of what he told me, my mind was more at ease. I’d want to show 2NE1, without the frills, but just us and our talent.
DARA 2NE1’s motto has always been “Let’s play (T/N: Nolja/nolza).” I wish we could play and jump well in Japan too.

Holding a great influence on the lifestyle of young women in South Korea, 4-member dance and vocal group, 2NE1, has finally made their debut in Japan on September 21st. Big Bang’s younger siblings, they have a unique mix of hip-hop and R&B music, and always brings something fresh everytime they come out with new songs in Korea, resulting to ranking number 1 every time. With their edgy fashion and make-up, they have been a standard that young women imitate.
On the onset of their Japanese debut, we’ve asked these four people what is in their hearts and to introduce themselves:
● Finally, the long-awaited Japan debut is here![T/N: These, the ones in bullets, are the ones in the red bordered boxes]
CL
Actually, I spent 7 years of my childhood living here in Japan. That’s why there’s a certain familiar feeling, like being back home. Also we wanted to really meet the Japanese fans soon, so we made preparations to come here fast. So the four members really prepared a lot since September.
● They were initially scheduled to debut last spring. But while they were here in Japan last March, Tokyo and a major part of eastern Japan, experienced a major earthquake, thus postponing their debut.
CL
We were preparing for our TV broadcast, when the earthquake happened suddenly. I don’t remember it clearly, but I do remember being so scared. So we had to temporarily leave Japan, but our hearts went out to all the Japanese people who were hurt.
BOM
In the past, I already experienced an earthquake while I was still living in the United States, but it was the first time that I experienced an earthquake that strong.
DARA I also experienced earthquakes while I lived in the Philippines, but they weren’t as scary as the one (in Japan). When it happened, I got so scared that I felt sick, then there were the aftershocks. But I wanted to really come back because I was thinking of the fans who were waiting for us in Japan.
MINZY
It was the first time for me to experience an earthquake. At that time, I had an emotional/mental turmoil. But then I thought of everyone in Japan who are fans of our music, and it really helped me heal and that thought helped me calm my mind and recover.
The one who posted that is Kaori Yokota, the host of radio program, GOGOMONZ. This episode with the 2ne1 girls, would be aired on the September 19th. ^_^ Can’t wait to hear them speak in Japanese! ^_^
2NE1 Attends the Daegu Athletics Championship Event!
On September 1st, people who went to the Daegu Athletics Championships, were able to see Korea’s hottest and best stars, 2NE1, as they visited the Adidas booth at Daegu Stadium.
Fun Activities While Waiting For 2NE1!
When it was announced that 2NE1 would be visiting at 5:00PM, many people from different ages, including a lot of high school students and even an old grandpa, went to the Adidas booth early to catch them. I Am The Best! Clad in Adidas Products, Best Sense of Style, 2NE1!
Even though they were late for 30 minutes, the people still waited for 2NE1 excitedly, not minding the heat of the day.
As they are known in the entertainment industries as fashionistas, 2NE1 did not disappoint when they appeared in their Adidas ensemble, with a distinct color coordinated outfit for each member; with her pink jersey matched with black undershirt and shorts, Park Bom showed her sporty side, while Gong Minji donned a purple jersey with matching pants; with her funky hairstyle and all black jersey, CL emitted charisma, while with her bright yellow jersey, Sandara Park looked even more cute and fresh! Right after they made their appearance, a lot of camera flashes and cheers went up for these trendy fashion icons as they stayed in the Adidas booth.
Sandara Park gave a cute message and cheer for the World Athletics Championship, as Gong Minji tried her hand at the shot put, followed by a media photo time. After the photo time ended, 2NE1 members sent tweets to Adidas Twitter Followers directly, asking for their comments and feedback, while Gong Minji directly tweeted using her own fan account.
Sandara Park Is A Game Genius? At Once Made A World Record!
The Adidas booth was located at the ground floor, where AdiZero Feather was exhibited, 2NE1 went their directly, followed by people who ran after them. With its light, 190g weight and dazzling color, “Bomtori“ Park Bom couldn’t stop looking and exploring the AdiZero Feather. Also on the ground floor, near the back, was an exhibit which showed the history of Adidasl the girls and other people, also showed a lot of history into how the brand was made.
Various games were on the second floor booth, where people could experience different athletic games, and 2NE1 was first challenged to do the discus throwing game. Sandara Park was the first to step up to the challenge, and when she achieved a “world record” on her first attempt at the discus throwing game, she surprised the booth staff, the press, and the audience; charismatic leader, CL, also tried out the challenge.
Sandara Park continued to play amazingly. The second challenge was dart games, and she hit the dartboard’s center when she tried, making Minji’s eyes widen in surprise and causing Bom to jump and cheer excitedly as she made the hit. Doesn’t Dara look really cute holding up the dart pins in her hands?
Lastly was the awarding of the pre-event winners, where leader CL handed out the awards, with the 2NE1 members backing her up on stage. The winners were also given the chance to take pictures with 2NE1 in the Adidas booth, making good memories. Unfortunately, the adventure was too short.
