News: Park Tae-Hwan, “Sandara Park’s Gift, Spiked Swimming Cap, Authentication Shot To Be Presented”

Marine boy, Park Tae-Hwan, has returned home.

On the August 3rd broadcast of SBS “Midnight TV Entertainment,” the scenes of Marine Boy Park Tae-Hwan arriving home after winning the gold medal were revealed.

Park Tae-Hwan (22, Dankook University), returned to the country through Incheon International Airport, on August 1st, after winning the 2011 International Swimming Federation (FINA) Swimming Championships.

In an interview during Park Tae-Hwan’s arrival at the airport, he said, “In one broadcast program, I received a spiked swimming cap that Sandara Park gave me as a gift.” Park Tae Hwan was then asked if he wore it, “In my mind, I’ve wanted to wear it. But actually, it’s quite difficult to wear (haven’t worn it), but in the future, when I wear it to practice, I promise to give a certification shot,” he said while laughing.

Meanwhile, Park Tae Hwan finished the 400m freestyle with a good medal, and 200m in fourth place, placing him with a good finish in the World Championships.

Feature: Korean girl group 2NE1 hopes to return to Singapore

The four girls promised to come back “should there be a chance”

Dubbed Korea’s fiercest female group, 2NE1 was in town as part of the 10-group line-up for the Korean Music Wave 2011 on July 15.

Four-member 2NE1 first appeared in a commercial jingle ‘Lollipop’ with their seniors Big Bang, before making an official debut with the single Fire in May 2009. Following the release of their first mini-album2NE1, the group’s fame skyrocketed internationally.

Famous Hollywood blogger Perez Hilton, more than once, featured the group’s latest music videos on his site. Renowned American fashion designer Jeremy Scott is known to be good friends with CL — the leader of 2NE1 — and had given the girls some dresses as gifts. will.i.am from The Black-Eyed Peas even worked with the group on their future American promotions.

CL, Bom, Dara and Minzy sat down with xinmsn for a short interview before their performance at the Korean Music Wave 2011.

Feature: A Sneak Peek Into Dara’s Room!

Well, I wouldn’t exactly call this a “room”. Its more like a showroom! ^^ Here, we can see so many Etude products its like Dara has her own store or something. I’m even wondering if this is her room at all (i.e. the kind where you “live” and sleep in). Its more like a display room. There are so many etude products and some of them are even open as if on display. ^^ Her bed, the one Bommie is lying on, doesn’t even have sheets! ^^ But, more importantly, there are many gifts from fans displayed in her room as well. She always cherishes the gifts given by fans. Nevertheless, this is truly a room for Dara – A PRINCESS ROOM FIT FOR A GODDESS!

I truly miss those times when 2NE1 first made their debut. I personally think that their debut songs are 2NE1’s best songs to date. I fully acknowledge that artists need to grow and need to constantly reinvent themselves while staying true to their music and I totally love how badass they have become. However, I miss those times when they were all just innocent rookies and having so much fun doing what they do. They have come so far and once in a while, its nice to look back.

Feature: 2NE1 ‘The Party’: A Recap

There’s already been a lot of news and articles about THE PARTY. But, let me just join in and share a little teeny bit of insight about THE concert. Now that I’m a little saner and calmer, and a little more rested, let’s have a recap of the awesome! awesome! awesome! and highly successful 2NE1 Concert, The Party held at the Big Dome! 🙂

First off… I agree to the nth power (…to infinity and beyond!) that The Party is one of the most successful concerts of 2011! 2NE1 truly rocked the Big Dome! It was definitely a SUCCESS! No doubt about it.

The Big Dome: Araneta Coliseum 

Before I go into my babbling, for the sake of the uninitiated, let’s talk first about how epic the Big Dome is for a performer. Araneta Coliseum is the biggest concert venue in the Philippines and only a few big stars are able to hold their own in Araneta.  I think every Filipino performer has dreamed at least once of performing in Araneta. It is THE venue to perform at. Holding a concert in Araneta is short of saying… yes, you’ve finally made it!
