I’m a Dara fan, a 2NE1 fan, and then a YG family fan (in that order). As a Dara fan foremost I have to say that I’m greedy to hear and see more of her. However, having said that and having posted earlier way far down below that I’m disappointed she only had two lines in this song, I find I still love the song and am doing my best as an international fan to play the youtube video repeatedly throughout the day when I’m home and download it on iTunes. I didn’t really think the nude scene was necessary or really fit the rest of the video concept but that’s just my opinion. I still love the song and look forward to seeing their future projects.

this is a quote from Dwayne Robinson who was just responding to 2NE1’s Inkigayo performance;

“People who ask for more lines for Dara need to understand the roles that each girl plays. Dara is not as strong vocally. She provides and interlude between they other three members powerful voices. She is important to the group because she does that and also provides good visual. Not only that she does a lot back stage and for advertisement. So Dont worry if she isnt singing as much that she isnt important cause she most certainly is.”

I felt it important to share this quote because with this song I finally come to the realization that what he says is exactly correct! As her fans we want more for her. We know she has so much potential. But Dara is smart and must know what her purpose is and seems to be happy with that. Who am to want more for Dara if she is content to be utilized this way. I will have no more expectations for her, then I wont be disappointed. So if something awesome happens, it will be a nice surprise. I will continue to support her in whatever she chooses to do.

I say those who really love sandara care more for her soul than for her worldly gain. The girl made her mark. She’s successful. Now it’s time to honor God.

Of course, we will still support Sandara Park and 2NE1. 🙂

But if there’s nothing that the company (YG) can do/will do for her in the future. I think, she should just leave the company and do things that she like on her own, for good. Like, she can join other companies/recording companies too. I’m sure that there are other companies out there that will accept her too.

Let’s say, next year or the year after, if she has not yet been given a chance to showcase more of her skills/talents, like acting (Drama/Movie), singing (give her enough lines/parts on their songs) or solo album/single. She should just leave the company for good. I mean, the company (YG) should stop wasting time. Because time is really important. BUT OF COURSE, IT WILL BE HER DECISION. IT WILL STILL DEPEND ON HER DECISION. If she wants to stay, then stay. If she wants to leave, then leave.

But yeah, I will still support Sandara Park and 2NE1 if that happens.

She had improved a lot so I hope that she can also show more of her skills/talents too.

this was better than their performance at MAMA. dara sang the ‘ooh aah’ parts and you can really be proud of her because her voice there was the loudest i’ve heard from her. even if she did get least of the lines, she performed the best (alongside with minzy, ofc).

i’ve been stalking this site for a while and i’ve always resisted commenting but even if she did get only 2 lines, i don’t want daralings to stop supporting 2ne1. i’ll admit there are times that i really doubted if their song is ok or not but the concept of their group is evolution, hence their name 2ne1. so their music will always be a little wierd. i do still have a little hatred for teddy for treating dara as a back up vocalist and creating a song that makes her sing only 2 lines of the lyrics. the song was really meant for bom and minzy’s stong vocals….

please don’t stop suppoting dara T_T

i just kept my disgust to both it hurts and be mine. but missing you, she just got two lines! two f&^&%^$ lines! what saddened me more is she’s so happy to promote this song despite the argggggh two liner! i wish i am a composer and producer i will show the world what a singer dara is!
they always do this giving her so little lines and probably think giving her that much exposure in the mv will calm our raging hearts.
why hire her and not give her output to even be proud of.

Where Daralings (Sandara Park Fans) can discuss anything and it will also help us to know other Daralings all around the world too. It would be so fun. 🙂 It will also be another way to show our support for her.

I totally agree with you. I think, now it’s time Daralings we should unite together to voice and fight for the rights that our dear Dara deserves. We must do something. Must act before our Dara like invisible in 2NE1 and even in YG company.

I too was disappointed about YG’s treatment on Dara lately. Wow, 2 lines in MY and that’s it, it’s just sad to think. I questioned also Teddy…why he is not giving Dara some importance. 😦 Maybe it’s time for her to go in hiatus at the group and then do solo act..like acting et al.. Thank you everybody for your comments. It helped me to see that I was not alone. Bottom line is we all love Dara. For us Daralings, our frustration is knowing that Dara is precious and more than just a pretty face, so much more!

I love 2NE1, the ladies are wonderful and they are my favorite KPOP group. But I will not support them blindly and YG family family rally is no more in my book because it is just for the chosen few.I will not have anymore expectations from YG, Teddy and the music people who will continue to utilize Dara this way. I will not support this song because on the day it came out, I finally realized that this is how its gonna be for our Dara.

If Dara is truly happy, than so be it. But if she is not, I hope one day she will have the courage to say I want and deserve more…

Hi, 1st I just want so say sorry if ever you feel offended on my comment, but I really want to express my disappointed of the MISSING YOU song. How can YG release a new girl group, if they can’t even give 2ne1 new album. And this song was so %$#@. Idk (“_”) but when I 1st watch the MV even if I don’t understand the lyrics. it makes me sooooooo sad. Not because of the meaning of thhis song. Dara was so excited and promoting the song very hard, but how can I support this song wholeheartedly, if I watch or listen to this song, it only remind me how they treat her like that!!! I knows Dara is a strong girl, and she face all the bad comments that you put on her and she didn’t complaining anything because she LOVE 2ne1 SO MUCH… but I’m not like her, I ‘am hurting for her. YES! There is really unfairness between the contribution of lines of the new song but can we just rant about it but still support 2ne1? Dara is not a solo singer. She is in a group with 3 individuals that we know that has stronger vocals than her. But Dara’s voice is the “condiment” of a 2ne1 song so without her the song will not really be good. I don’ t know when will be the time that there will be a 2ne1 song that really suits her voice vocally but let’s just hope that one day that our precious Dara can be recognize on how improved she is as a singer. I’m just disappointed on some daralings that will not support 2ne1 now because of this incident. This is not really a solution about the problem. It’s more of a blackmailing. Can we still unite and not start fan wars against the members? Can we still support 2ne1 and rise them above all kpop groups? Dara will be really hurt if she read some of the comments here. Her life is 2ne1 right now. If we will not support the group then more likely we are not supporting her. Please, you can rant and hate all the way but still supports them. Life is not really Fair! I’m so disappointed as to what they are doing to our Dara. It’s palpable that they are only using Dara. I like 2ne1 but I LOVE Dara the most. So as to fight back I’m not gonna watch their new song MISSING YOU in youtube anymore, neither purchase it in ITUNES or download it. I know I’m only one against blackjack but hey it’s 1 still counted and the number start at 1. Sorry DARA! Fighting!

I’m new here at wordpress and i’m one of Dara’s ever supporting fan…by the way i’m a full blooded Filipina and i supported Dara since her SCQ days…I believe she captured/captivated lots of hearts/fans not just because she’s talended and beautiful but she’s one of the few celebrities who have a pure and sincere heart and help with no hesitation…and i’m really greatfu/thankful of what she had done to my fellow Filipino’s who suffered from great devastation….I will always be faithful/loyal Fan…!!!

I have read several comments and I can’t help feeling the same way as others too. This song is beautiful, the mv is beautiful and the girls are beautiful too. We all know that Dara can sing, but we always can’t prove it to others because nobody let Dara sing at all? Seeing her promoting the song actively despite knowing herself only have 2 lines, knowing that she won’t have much screentime in performances breaks my heart. She’s not doing for herself but 2NE1 as a whole. But it seems likes she’s not getting what she deserve from YG.

Like majority of the people here, i’m so frustrated with the song not because it’s crappy but because i hardly hear dara sing. I know i should be used to this already, but i can’t help but be frustrated everytime! I got hopeful since i love you because she gets more lines than usual, but now i’m back to being deprived of hearing her sing more. No wonder some people continue to bash her singing because she never gets to really showcase it. I can’t even bring myself to spazz on how beautiful the song, the mv and the girls are.

And then you see Dara still happily and actively promoting it, so that makes me feel guilty for acting like a whiny kid. I still look forward to their songs and pray, really pray, that i can hear her sing a lot in their future songs.

I was so excited about the song and thinking if I will cry bcos of the message and yes I cried and for a different reason. Missing You became like Missing Dara. From the very start, I know that Dara gets the least lines bcos of her voice but i didn’t know that she is close to no lines this time. I know that Daralings should get used to it but it just hurt that Dara is in a singing group but she barely sings.
Sorry, but I am really just saddened by the situation. I could not even get myself to listen to the song for the second time as it breaks my heart because of lack of dara.
To be honest, I get envious with other Blackjacks whenever they spazz on the singing or musicality of the other 3 members whenver a song is release. I get also mad that they do not even say anything about dara or notice her.
i tend not to go on other sites as it makes me sad that most comments or thoughts are only talking about the other 3. it makes me think is Dara really unimportant to them.

First of all thank you Oh Dara for understanding that we needed a place to share our frustration this day. I got it, theres never going to be an even distribution of lines in a song. But Dara got 2lines 15 seconds each and we are suppose to be happy?

Here’s the real issue, does YG/ Teddy etc. know her worth? Just give Dara a couple lines every song, make her wear crazy clothes/hairstyle and people will go gaga bout her beauty. Actions speak louder then words. YGs treatment of Dara is so like an afterthought for someone who is so precious to us. I wonder how much money she makes for YG with her CLIO and other advertisements in the past. We know she has a sweet voice, she’s talented and beautiful. If they are not going to let her sing, then let her act in a drama where she will be recognized for her talents. Then maybe she will have the option to say see ya 2NE1 and pursue something that recognizes her value. Negative? Delusional? Immature? I don’t care. I called myself a Blackjack because I love and supported Dara, Cl, Minzy and Bom. I’m sad to say I cant do it anymore. My first concern is Dara. I want her to always be cherished and recognized for the wonderful person she is inside and out and its not happening time and time again with 2NE1.

Okay.. I have to be honest.

As much as I want Dara to have more lines, I still find the song beautiful as it is. A producer makes songs as it is produced because it is good “as is”.

We all know Dara has the talent and her fresh vocals give compliment to the other three…

BUT we must also take note that musical direction does not rely heavily on equal distribution of lines in a song but on who can deliver a line better on a particular song (taking into consideration the theme/mood of the song, the genre, vocal quality/tone to match the mood, etc).

Since the producers decided that this is the direction they are taking to match and blend everything together, then so be it. And I sincerely agree with how they made the song as it is today. Since the song requires a deeper and soulful sound (which I think is out of Dara’s range since Dara is a mezzo soprano-soprano — but uses headtone quite well in my opinion) — particularly on Minzy’s deeper, chest tone in the hook/chorus — having the other three do more parts is, for me, a valid decision.

ON A LIGHTER NOTE, with the intro (i.e., the ooh’s in the beginning) and the last part with BOM’s solo, there is a big possibility that they will be harmonizing as a group and will be seeing Dara sing beyond those two lines. 🙂

P.s. they all look GORGEOUS as ever and our goddess Dara made up for all the beautiful visuals.. Oh, my heart! ❤

In an odd way its satisfying for me as a Dara fan to see everyone’s comments. I hope that YG and Teddy see the reaction and know that even if Dara is okay with it, her fans are not. If they keep disappointing us fans then they’re sure to see a drop in sales, views, and votes. Not trying to be negative but just honest… I don’t want to buy a song where my bias has only 2 lines…

How can I support whole-heartedly when my heart is broken.

I knew many would be disappointed with the shortness of Dara’s part but not me. For me it’s not the length but the impact. Dara has the knack of making her lines short and sweet and haunting . Without being conscious about it, I find myself often singing Dara’s lines when I sing 2NE1’s songs because they stick in my psyche.Dara has presence…an IT factor….and that’s a gift!!

I am over with this, I tried to wait for Dara’s unnie to shine for almost 5 years now, but until now just a line as part of the whole song?. were they crazy??? I’m sorry admin, I just can’t contain myself. I am so upset. really. I have no reason to watch their MAMA performance, till their over with this promotion. Dara unnie, will just become a flower in the wall while others gonna be blooming and busy of their parts. I am really sorry for my comments admin. You can removed this though if you want,. sorry. much respect but I am so tired with YG treating Dara’s unnie like this. CL even did solo and promoted it live, BOM did it always as solo, Minzy going for some solo too. what about DARA unnie, YG?.. what about her? I think I can say that this is the least part that Dara had in a song!!! And that takes so much from the greatness of the song! I mean, no matter who, I guess even the not Dara-bias fans will notice how short her part is! And it makes the song disappointing even though one wanted to like the song or already likes the song! It was a great song, i just thought, it would have sounded as great or even greater giving Dara a little more part in the song. We fans can’t help but notice! Sorry YG/Teddy but this is just way overboard.

I am disappointed too about this song for Dara has few lines only. She worked hard for promoting the songs and this is what she gets. I am really sad though let’s look at the brighter side and support 2ne1. Dara will be sad if we will not support them as a group. You know how selfless Dara and she will do anything for the group for they are her family. Just maybe in the future there will be great plans for Dara. Let’s just pray for it.

When I heard the song, it is really good and gives moe goosebumps. Let’s support 2ne1 and give them lots of love. We blackjacks are their inspiration for everything they do. So let’s support them and not lose hope! @ne1 fighting! Blackjacks fighting!!! 🙂

Sorry to rant but it’s just disappointing that Dara’s only line is the one they showed on teaser. Really Teddy??? Are you freakin’ serious!!!? I guess the only good thing is they made her look awesome on this MV, no weird clothes and style.

I rewatched the mv and I gotta say it’s just so unfair. Bom sings the most in this song while CL gets the most screen time in the MV. People on the internet always comment on how underrated Minzy is and that girl is going to get the spotlight when her single drops. Then that leaves only Dara..It just pisses me off so much that she gets so much hate when she is being treated unfairly. She tries her hardest to promote 2NE1 and this is how they repay her?? How are fans meant to be un-bias and love all the members when 1 is being let down every time a freaked song drops?

Even Beyonce won’t be able to shine if she is only given 2 lines in a 3 mins song! This is ridiculous. I don’t care if Dara can express all these emotions with her eye during her “2 lines”! It’s not ENOUGH!

Thunder didn’t have the best voice in MBLAQ but he has constantly being given normal length of time in most of MBLAQ songs and look how he has improve! If they want Dara to improve then they have to give her the opportunity. I don’t know Dara but I am 100% sure she would want more than 2 lines.

I have no idea why YG is holding her up from acting as she is not getting any younger and if they don’t let her sing why bother blocking her future?! With the direction of where 2NE1 is currently heading (it’s like CL and her GZB) I would much prefer Dara to just be an actor as I see no future for her being in 2NE1 (especially when Teddy is still the music producer). Sorry if we are being negative, it’s hard for us fans who love you to see you get treated like that and I know it’s much harder for you, to be put in the situation where you must defend your company to us and defend us from your company. We just want them to wake up and appreciate you the way you should be appreciated. No matter what happens we will love and support you, even though it’s hard sometimes because we are protecting you from your company who should be your main protector anyway.

She just had her birthday.. She’s part of 2ne1, even though dara may seem that she’s alright with what she is given her, be sensitive naman!! It’s not like 2ne1 is a new group and people do not know what she is capable of. We all know how much she works hard and how she wants to improve and show her talents but she’s just not given a chance. My heart broke when I watched the mv! I remember how excited she was with the countdown etc, now I realize she’s excited for the others, for 2ne1 and is trying to console us in her way. Its not funny anymore how she got ONE line out of the whole song. It was like a bullseye showing everyone that dara can live with that. Her own company perceives her like that and they let other people see that. I HATE it!!!! She’s an incredible and beautiful person and she deserves much more!

Although i too am a bit sad that she only got a few lines but lets not make this the cause to not watch or not support the song.
Dara is humble and kind to not even mind it and she still eagerly promotes their song.
and i know if she learns that some of her fan would not watch it because of her few lines, it would hurt her deeply knowing that it was because of her.
Eventhough she is our bias, she is still part of the group and i know she wants them to succeed and it will only be achieved if each of their fans support them.

Ive always expected this will happen.like lonely rime..when she got only few parts.. But lets support 2NE1..the song great is though…

Even though I was kind of sad at first that Dara has two lines only, she has such beautiful vocals that blend and make the music flow so smoothly. No wonder it was her who pretty much gave the background vocals to the entire song. (The “oooh ah ah ah” was all her, throughout). I just KNOW Dara would rock a ballad song and they really need to showcase her more.

I mean, Dara has a huge fanbase and honestly…they really need to get their act straight and give everyone a solid part in the M/Vs.

But, that being said, as a Daraling and a Blackjack, I’m so happy with this! They definitely got their game face on with Do You Love Me and Falling in Love. I mean, those songs were great, but this just screams 2ne1 and it makes me happy when they tackle their emotions.

I can’t believe Dara get to sing two lines in the entire song. It’s not wonder that she get so much hate to be call a singer. It’s beyond disappointing that CL gets half the song.

I’m also sad that Dara got very few lines in this song, but you know what I realized? Dara, despite of her fame and everything, GENUINELY remains very humble. I mean, if some other girl became part of 2NE1, all the fame and money would have already gotten in her head. Other girls probably wouldn’t have accepted those 1or2 lines. They’d be all diva-like, storm out of the studio, demand more lines and threaten to leave the group. But not our Dara. 🙂 So with that realization I guess I’m more at peace with it. But dang it, YG! I was soooo looking forward to the new MV.. it’s a good song.. but like most Dara fans I can’t hide the fact that I’m disappointed and sad that Dara had only ONE repeated line in the ENTIRE song.. and even her exposure in the MV was very limited.. it would have been better if the MV was like “It Hurts” where Dara is the main lead girl acting in the video.. eventhough she had few lines there you can still see that she’s an important part in the MV.. but “Missing You” for me is a big let down being Dara biased.. I like the song but I just feel sad listening and watching it. The girls did great and they all look gorgeous.. but I just can’t make myself appreciate it more.. and I’m seriously starting to dislike Teddy. Wish we could make a petition to YG and Teddy to give Dara more lines.. 2NE1 is composed of 4 girls not just 3.. Dara also has a lot of fans that want to listen and appreciate all her hard work and effort.. and if they can’t justify her lack of lines then YG should just let Dara be an actress so we could all appreciate her greatness in another medium.

YG said before that he wasn’t after winning awards but he’s more concern of how will people react with his kids’ songs. True, he released taeyang and Tabi’s song even though he’ll know that they can be nominated and 2ne1 released it before MAMA. I just love YG so much. I want to cry not only because the song was sad but because no matter how long i tried to understand why they give dara less lines than the others, I think they really nailed it this time. ONE LINE.. Why do people always complain? In ‘i love you’ she got a lot of lines and she also sang the chorus. She even got the high notes in ‘ugly’. Maybe this song is not just for her voice. i was really excited when it finally came out…the song was beautiful. haunting and moving. but, after all that feeling has coursed through me, i felt myself cringe for dara. when it finally hit, i was like, “damn, that was probably the fewest lines she’s ever had in any 2ne1 song. tsk.” and was i the only one who waited until 3/4 of the song to see if dara got the bridge part a la lonely? hahaha

if i weren’t a fan to begin with and if she wasn’t the group’s ultimate eyecandy in this round of promotions, i never would’ve remembered her. no wonder she’s the most active in promoting the song. it’s like overcompensation on her part.

I was just really hurt for Dara. Maybe she’s happy despite the length of her lines, but for a fan who have watched and witnessed how her voice improved… i just want parts of the song where she can shine and USE the improvement.

Love the way the girls look. And like many of you have expressed, I’m just sad that our Dara is given such a small part. I love the different flavor her voice brings to each of their songs so I’m always a little sad when we can’t hear more of her.

I guess I’ll have to wait until the translated lyrics come out but I thought the guy’s part seemed out of place. Is he supposed to be in torment too? Or were they beating him up in their thoughts? kekeke!

I just wanna say this here. I’m sad for Dara. I’m one of the blackjacks who is understanding about part distribution among the 4 of them. I’ve always thought and believed that yg/teddy give parts to members who they think can convey/sing that part best. I get that. I also am used to Dara’s few lines esp w slow songs like it hurts and lonely. Few but enough lines. But in Missing you, it is just too few. The whole teaser is just her part in the whole song. I’m happy for 2ne1 for another brilliant song but just like what many BJ hve said and tweeted, it will be painful to see dara just stand on stage to wait for her two lines.

I hope that YG really walk the talk on how he believes in Dara and just give her a chance to handle more parts in their songs.

For starters: the song was good…. but it would have been a better representative song for 2NE1, if ALL of them could actually claim ownership to it. With the length of her lines (or the lack thereof), I feel like Dara can’t do that… The song somehow says: “We can totally do this without you, but since you are somehow part of 2ne1, why don’t you sing a line or two?” As a Daraling, I feel hurt and cheated TT.TT (just need to get that out of my chest and this is the only place where I feel I kindda could) 15 seconds out of a 3:40 min-long MV. Wow. I don’t even want to imagine how Dara would look when they perform this live, as well as the bashing she’d get from her haters. I wasn’t able to do anything while waiting for this! I’ve stopped being surprised at how short Dara’s parts are in their songs a long time ago though. As lines go this is like Be Mine, same line sung twice. I wonder how their live stage will be like.

Really sad that dara always get so little lines =( but I like the song and the MV is soo good. Dara is so fresh looking and very beautiful. She shows her sadness throughout the MV even without singing.

Nevertheless, beautiful song, goosebumps from start to finish. This is the 2ne1 we know and love who are capable of breaking from the mould and stand in the sea of predictable and generic kpop tunes. If this song had came out sooner/ when it was originally slated for release it would have been a major contender for song of the year without a doubt. Brings back memories of Lonely era. I hope they comeback stronger and harder!
