2NE1‘s Japanese debut mini-album, entitled, “NOLZA,” has topped the Oricon Weekly Chart, only after six days of its release.

According to a report given on the 27th by Japanese media, Oricon Style, it stated that 2NE1’s Japanese debut album, “NOLZA,” which was launched on the 21st, has topped the Oricon Weekly Charts, only after 6 days of their debut. Previously, KARA has also ranked #1 on the same chart (244 days after debut) and also SNSD (after 272 days after debut), and with this new accomplishment, 2NE1 has beaten both in being the girl group which rose to the number 1 spot the fastest.

2NE1 is the third foreign artist that topped the charts after their Japan debut. First, there’s Russian duo group, tAtu, with their debut album “tATu” (released on March 2003), and then Korean solo artist, Jang Geun Suk with his debut single, “Let Me Cry” as the second.

Meanwhile, 2NE1 is continuing their successful debut concert tour in Japan, touring in three different cities, and performing six times. For their debut Japanese concert, they boast the most number of attendees in a concert, for a Korean group, with more than 70,000 fans in total attendance.

Girl group 2NE1 is making waves all over Japan with their debut. They landed first place on the Oricon daily chart recently, and are currently on a three-city tour that is reportedly racking up almost $8 million USD in sales!

2NE1′s first Japanese tour originally scheduled four to five concerts, but after receiving countless requests from 190,000 fans, the group decided to hold a total of six concerts, starting at the Yokohama Arena and ending at the Makuhari Messe.

According to tour officials, 2NE1 has sold 70,000 tickets thus far, each worth around 7,500 yen. In total, they’ve brought in $7.87 million USD in sales, and that’s not including the memorabilia that fans can purchase, so officials are looking forward to upwards of $10 million USD in total sales.

The earthquake and tsunami that caused havoc in Japan in March led K-pop band 2NE1 to delay their debut concert there, but it was well worth the wait for local fans earlier this week as thousands gathered at Tokyo’s Yokohama Arena.

Waving red and blue glow sticks, some 12,000 fans went wild at the stadium on Monday as the four Korean girls strutted their stuff, whipped out their hip hop dance moves and belted out the tunes that have been reverberating over the East Sea for months.

The concert, which marked the start of the 2NE1’s “Nolza in Japan” tour, was such a success that organizers added a follow-up concert on Tuesday.

All 70,000 tickets for the band’s planned concerts in three Japanese cities, including Kobe and Chiba, are sold out, the organizers said. The tickets were priced at 75,000 yen each.

One 29-year-old woman from Chiba Prefecture said the band is unique and totally different from Japanese girl groups. “They are a perfect synthesis of music and fashion,” she said.

Testament to the Japanese love of dressing up in costumes, many fans appeared at the arena wearing clothes styled after the pop quartet, such as fluorescent hip hop clothes and funky, pineapple-shaped hairstyles.

After performing for two hours, and showing their flashy personalities to the fullest, the girls wrapped up their two concerts in the capital. They next head to Kobe, where they will sing on Saturday. They have a total of four more concerts planned, including a performance date in Chiba on Oct. 2.
