Interview: 2NE1 for Oricon Style
PART 1:
DARA, ADVERTISING MANAGER OF CL / MULTITASKER AND HEAD OF THE PUBLICITY DEPARTMENT
Tell me your personality.
Let’s start with CL’s leadership.
[MINZY] CL is the person who is suitable to be a leader. She excels in leading other people and has a sense of responsibility over her members. When it comes to 2NE1’s fashion, sometimes the ideas come from her. I think you can call her a Fashion Leader too.
[BOM] Leader in every sense.
[DARA] She’s always thinking of how to make our stage delightful for fans and how not to make it boring.
All the fields are hers – a multitasker. What about DARA?
[CL] Dara is the head of the publicity department. She has a very bright aura and very talented. She is very helpful.
[MINZY] She’s really an interesting person. She gives out a lot of various ideas, just like a goodwill ambassador! Even before our Japanese debut, she thought of the countdown site and it was made. She’s also very positive and if its her ideas, you can raise your expectations because it will surely be something aggressive.
[BOM] Even if she is facing hardships, she acts like nothing happened the next day. In person, doesn’t she look weak in appearance? (laughs) But deep inside she’s very strong. She has strong professionalism. She respects truly.
(Dara laughs – Park Sisters fighting!)
[DARA] Is it? Or will you forget everything you said after you will sleep?
[BOM] For 1 minute. (Smile) Even though I easily forget, it is not lost completely. When I forget, do I look natural or what?
[DARA] Strangely, even if something happens on stage, we just stand and put on smiling faces.
[BOM] It is just professionalism.
How about BOM?
[CL] She’s our mood maker. On stage, you are charmed by Bom’s overwhelming singing ability and sexiness but offstage, she’s charming and loved by the fans.
[MINZY] She’s our sexy mood maker. Her groove on stage is great!
[DARA] She is sooo cute in nature.
[CL] If you have watched our reality show 2NE1TV, 99% of the fun and cute portions is Bom (smile).
The remaining 1%?
[CL] It is Dara.
[DARA] Me and Bom are a comedy duo (laughs).
It’s right. I have heard that BOM is good at taking good care of her skin and use beauty products to have incredible smooth skin. Do you sometimes do something special too?
[DARA] I always drink lots of water. Its good for maintaining good skin care.
How about MINZY?
[CL] She is in charge of sexiness.
[DARA] Minzy is very good in singing and dancing. Even if we are anywhere, I can just sit down in my place and have peace of mind watching Minzy.
Minzy’s mother is a famous dancer. She came from a family of good dancers.
[MINZY] (laughs)
[BOM] Minzy’s dancing always gives me goosebumps. Her great performances are always hair-raising.
[MINZY] (laughs)

Feature: Who are the Celebrities that Attended NOLZA in Japan (Yokohama)?
I am pretty sure that all of you are with me in crossing our fingers and toes for a very successful Japanese Debut for our girls. We have been praying and hoping that they will be loved in Japan as much (if not more) as in Korea and internationally. On September 19 and 20, our girls held their very first concert in Yokohama, Japan. We have all seen the pictures uploaded by Japanese Blackjacks and we can surely say that the first day of their concert has been really successful. But guess what guys? Not only did Japanese blackjacks attend their concert, but a lot of celebrities went there as well. Woot! Woot! Here is a rundown of the celebrities who attended NOLZA! If you guys know of any more, please leave a comment below so that we can include it on the list!
1. Kyary Pamyu
Kyary Pamyu is a famous fashion blogger, model and recording artist in Japan. She uploaded a picture of her and 2NE1 backstage of NOLZA!
2. LM.C’s Maya
LM.C is a famous Japanese visual kei band which plays a hybrid of rock and electronic pop (branded “new century electrock” by the band. The band consists of 2 members. LM.C was founded by Maya. Earlier, he made a tweet regarding 2NE1:
“2NE1 cheiru charunaga (w/c means jeil jalnaga)”
3. Chan Kaba
Eiji Kabashima, better known by his stage name Kaba-chan is a Japanese celebrity and choreographer. After learning dance in New York City, he returned to Japan and was chosen to become a member of musical group Dos. He was backstage with 2NE1 and tweeted the following pictures:

Murata Mari is a Popteen Model. Earlier, she tweeted a picture of her and 2NE1 backstage at NOLZA.
5. Naoya Urata
Naoya Urata is the leader and lead vocalist of Japanese pop band AAA. He is also an actor.
6. Watabe Ken
Watabe Ken is from comedy group UN-JASH. Earlier, he tweeted about 2NE1’s NOLZA and also uploaded a picture of 2NE1, GD and TOP from NOLZA’s Press Conference.

8. Chris Matsumura
Chris Matsumura is one of the hosts of Hey! Hey! Hey! who interviewed the girls before.
9. Karen Miyama
Karen Miyama is a Japanese actress. She played Yuki in Iris. She uploaded a picture of herself watching NOLZA and being a true Blackjack!

According to this Nate article, Sandara was one of the seven female celebrities that U-Kiss mentioned as their ideal types.
The article said, “In particular, Kevin, expressed his longing to get to know girlgroup member, Sandara Park.” He said that he likes her for her cute looks and her charming voice.

Money Maker$, a hip hop duo considered the “proteges of Snacky Chan“ comprised of Busan rapper J-Flow and freestyle specialist Bron, mention Dara in one of their songs. Check it at around 1:46. ^_^ The only thing I can understand is something like, “I want a cute noona like Sandara Park!”

A little info, Shou is the vocals of Japanese visual kei rock band Alice Nine. After Music Station, he tweeted about 2NE1 and about Dara. He says that he likes Dara’s looks (rough translation only). Isn’t this amazing? 2NE1 just made their official debut in Japan and she has a fanboy already? That’s our goddess for you!

1. This episode of Music Station was the best for me, since Golden Bomber were cool, 2NE1, who I love, were on and my seniors were in the ranking list.

Feature: Taiwan Boy Band “Farenheit” Member, Calvin Chen, with Dara
Well, not exactly! It seems that Calvin Chen attended an event for Etude House in Taiwan and he decided to pose with Dara’s Ad. He then posted the picture in his Weibo account. Don’t you just love how far and wide Dara love is spreading? ^_^ I love the fact that Dara is Etude House’s Main Endorser and that Etude House is expanding to different markets.
During this event, Calvin Chen shared that the 2NE1 star Sandara has that “soft and tender” skin like gelatin, that makes him want to pinch her in the cheeks. The girls in the audience all shrieked, all wanting to have the soft and tender skin that Calvin likes.

Feature: Fanboy Park Tae Hwan
We all know how much of a Dara fanboy Park Tae Hwan is right? Who could forget his Win Win Episode where Dara was his special guest? He was all giddy and happy during that episode. Recently, Park Tae Hwan was interviewed and ‘lo and behold, the interviewer was sporting Dara’s Vegeta Hair. It seems like the people of South Korea and the media are all for Park Tae Hwan and Dara. ^^ When he won gold, Dara was contacted by the press and asked to comment about his win. When he came back to Seoul, the media interviewed him about Dara too. Because of Park Tae Hwan’s achievements in sports, he is considered one of Korea’s National Treasures… and who else would fit a National Treasure other than our very own International Treasure right?
And just for good measure, I wanted to add this: LMAO!
