Thank you for the kind replies. i wish nothing but the best for her. I am supportive of her acting stints. I want Sandara to be an effective actor. For her to be one, she should act the role and look like the character. A little height enhancement with a proper shoes would help her. She is kinda short, which makes her look like a kid. It really bothers me. I read some korean netizens commented on her very youthful look. She should make an effort to make herself look like an adult and feminine. Also, may she adds more weight for her to look sooo beautiful onscreen. Sandara, Aja!

I think that with your suggestion that she do a little height enhancement would defeat the purpose of acting the role and looking like the character.. She’s from North Korea, we don’t know the sentiments or indeed the setting of the drama here, whether NoKor is in full support of their candidates or not; based on the trailer, I think not.. ^^
If anything else, Dara has her characterizations of her roles mastered cold.. ^_^ With regards to “Dr. Ian” she was playing the role of an insecure lady, making her wear high heels would, once again, defeat the purpose of being in character, since it is widely acknowledged that wearing heels or pumps or even elevated shoes is an act of confidence and bringing out of self.
@miss_liz I think Dara does not have much choice regarding wardrobe if it’s provided by the drama production. If they think the character needs to be in a certain attire Dara has to wear it. May be as the drama unfolds her wardrobe will improve since she will be in a pageant. Let’s just support all of Dara’s activity & be happy that she is getting continuous work. Dara, fighting!!!!
miss_liz She is ACTING,making believe, portraying a contestant from North Korea. This is probably how they want the contestants to look like from N. Korea having just arrived from the conservative, scary communist country to the big city of Seoul or free Korea. Look at the girls with her. They are in the same plain uniform. Most dramas, the actors dont get to choose what they want to wear. We need to watch this drama unfold to see what kind of person she is portraying, whether she is poor, timid, scared, happy.But in this picture alone, she is definitely not a fashionista.My guess is they are going to turn her from a ugly duckling to a beautiful swan! And we will get to see how she transforms herself in this drama. So excited to see this unfold!

@miss_liz i think the scene calls for flats. i think the other girls were wearing the same and i guess it’s bec. they just arrived from nokor. and maybe people there usually wear utilitarian clothes. although dara & co. should’ve worn more feminine clothes being candidates, right? oh well, i’m pretty sure they’ll be like fashionistas or kpop idols once the pageant gets going.
btw, i’m surprised that they used or translated the event in english for their backdrop at the bottom picture. i guess in the story the organizers wanted foreigners to see/appreciate the event.
She looks fine. I just wish she would not just wear flats or rubber shoes. Hope she wears shoes with heels to make her look taller. She has to act the part of looking adult on the drama. She needs to be an effective actor even with her looks. I remember being disappointed seeing her in flat rubber shoes in the web drama, Dr Ian. She failed the part of looking adult there. She looked like a kid when she was paired with Kim Young Kwang who is very tall. Sandara should be cautious in portraying an adult role. She looks so young with a thin body and short height. She should compensate by wearing shoes with heels to make her look taller. Nothing wrong with her model-like body type. But she should wear fashionable clothes to look like an adult. No more jeans like she typically wear on ordinary days. It is not about comfortability but being effective actor even in fashion wear. Actors could bring own clothes or shoes and wear them on. My ultimate concern for now is for her to look tall…look like an adult.
