YG States that 2NE1 Will Not Be Attending Any Music Award Ceremonies This Year
2NE1 will not be attending music award ceremonies this year.
YG Entertainment told Newsen on October 24, “2NE1 decided not to attend any of the music award ceremonies at the end of this year.”
2NE1 carried out promotions for its second album Crush in February. The group topped the music charts with its title song Come Back Home and also received awards on music programs.
2NE1′s leader CL was recently scouted by Justin Beiber′s producer′s Scooter Braun and is preparing to make a US debut in the spring. Park Bom halted activities in Korea after her controversy in June.
2NE1 attended the YG Family 2014 Galaxy Tour: Power in Beijing on October 19 at the Worker′s Stadium in Beijing.
The YG Family concert will continue in Taiwan on October 25.

Wow! After reading everyone’s thoughts and after seeing the word “angry” in Dara’s captions, I do not know what to think. This is so unlike Dara; am just glad she is showing some real emotions.
I admire how Dara always rises from where she “falls”. She also has a lot of friends in the industry and she is not shy in saying aloud what she wants.
If her contract is expiring then she has alternatives. Dara can still be with YG as a member of 2ne1 and have another agent for her movies/ dramas /shows other than singing such as hosting.
Everything is always for the good for those who believe in God! Indeed time for some reflection and a lot of prayer by 2ne1 and by all of us.
Going back to this article cause am seriously bummed with this decision from YG. Excellent point made here…..if the knetz are seriously against Bom because of her scandal, why would the major year-end shows even bother to extend the invitations? Can Dara at least hosts even one of these programs? She had expressed the desire to do so, YG should really let her. Am now appreciating SM’s system of letting their artists hone their skills beyond singing. Prepares their talents for future career change/opportunities.
Sometimes, I wonder if the leaked “Bom incident” of FOUR years ago that out of nowhere suddenly “popped out” was mastermind by YG as a prelude to all of this. Isn’t it a good excuse to give fans as to why they have to be put on hiatus? Bom is so well-loved by the other girls’ fans-I’m sure they can’t bring themselves to blame her in any way. They will try to understand. Let’s use her as the sacrificial lamb.
But for four years they’ve successfully covered this incident from the general public’s knowledge and then it got leaked by a measly low-tier tabloid? Isn’t the timing suspicious? And, why does Dispatch have all the right answers like they knew it all along but were amendable to keep it quiet?
Remember the time CL had her GZB solo comeback middle of 2013 and the fans of the other girls were irate because they were calling for a comeback with all four girls that some fans chose to withdraw their support in protest. YG is now wiser because he knows he needs to justify this with the other fans as not to loose support and isn’t this just the perfect alibi?
Who’s next?
I’m starting to think now that new YG girl group is coming out, 2ne1 is slowly going disband and YG is starting to rebuild CL as a solo artist, just my opinion. With that i’m only going to follow Dara’s career if and when she leave 2ne1.
We know they are “winners” just like the other YG Artists this year. They all charted very well. 🙂

As much as I want to act mature about this news I couldn’t. I just started cussing for some reason after reading the article.
They deserve better and more exposure in my opinion.
This is unfair not just to Korean fans but us international fans who only get to see them online or on other forms of media. It’s frustrating how inept YGE is handling our ladies and their issues. I can’t even… Agh.
I feel bad for Minzy the most. We all thought she’s going to have a solo debut ever since the announcement in the Double Park interview and then nothing. I don’t hate CL because Dara adores her but she’s too overrated. Tsk, YG is not too different from SM after all. Dara should just go over JYP, at least Jin Young aclnowledges her charisma. 2014. WORST KPOP YEAR.

Bom drug issues: why only now?? after 4 years??? after that issues… Its CL solo debut in US…
Dara’s acting debut: why do you think that until now no drama for Dara?? But CL can do solo anytime anywhere…
Minzy: Why no solo for Minzy?? despite of her talent… some fans says because of her studies… I think Minzy will grab the lights if the opportunity comes… But no opportunities for her but CL has lot of opportunities…

2ne1 is not disbanding, because if CL will not make it in the US market… There will always be 2ne1 in Korea… She can go back to her group anytime and be successful as a group (again).
BUT… if CL became the lucky one and will be able to penetrate the US market…. well that’s the end of their (2ne1) story.

As a YG Stan and a blackjack I’m so disappointed. We’ve waited so long for an album, and once it does come out they don’t finish the year off with a bang. People spent money on their album, tickets to their concerts and supported the group during promotions. I love the girls but I’m definitely saddened that they can’t do this favour for their fans. Bom doesn’t need to hide, she ain’t guilty. I’m kind of tired of hearing just about CL performing. I think she’s amazing but they are so much better together! YG are losing fans because of this 😦
I think this is a selfish decision of YG. Disappointed and sad and angry and all the negative feelings out there. 😦
Not even disappointed, I AM ANGRY. Why the fuck is YG allergic to 2NE1 performing as a group?? Performing on year-end stages isn’t even such a hard work, for me 2NE1 can just even perform what they’ve been performing on ygfam concerts and on AON.
My opinion is that YG is scared. Crush did such a great job and I think the girls will surely win one or two awards. YG is scared that 2NE1 will grow even bigger and his new girl group won’t be able to keep up with that.
But I am scared to be honest. If CL really succeeds as a solo, a 2NE1 comeback will surely be hard. I don’t even think all these is because of Bom’s thing. I mean, if all these knetz really hate 2NE1 why would these ceremonies even invite them in the first place??
Was kinda wary of YG’s announcement about 2ne1’s future, god knows he’s not exactly the most reliable source. But am still hopeful that he’ll stay true to his announcement this time. Anyway, if 2ne1 is to have a comeback, it shouldn’t take too long. As everybody agrees, the “unnies” are over 30, and unfortunately in Korea, that seems to weigh a bit when it comes to (female) idols. I got no bone with CL wanting to try her luck going solo/ in the States. I do believe her when she said she’s not gonna do a “Beyonce” on her members. It’s just that I hope YG finds avenues for the other girls to grow as well. A film project for Dara, Japan debut for Bom maybe? She sounded so good in their Japanese album, and with that look and figure, am sure she’ll make it there. As for Minzy, YG should really give her a chance to go solo in Korea as well. Everybody praised her voice, specially in this latest album. And wtf, of all reasons to be cited for not appearing in year-end show, TO REFLECT?!?! YG needs better PR team really. Also, after all the accolades their latest comeback got and I Am the Best getting more attention abroad than ever, I was hoping 2ne1 could end the year with a bang. YG could have at least given the girls that, since heaven knows when we’ll see/hear from them again now that AON has wrapped up and only YG family concerts remaining (or is the Taiwan leg the last one as well?). Unless, the girls got a gag order regarding their contract until it actually expires. Same scenario with Se7en and Gummy.
Bummer. So does that mean 2NE1 is finally over? Bom can’t show her face in Korea anymore and YG doesn’t want to make the effort to put the shine back in their star because he has 2 new boy groups, an upcoming boy group, an upcoming girl group, and all those recruits from kpop star that he’s keeping in the basement.
2NE1 doesn’t make the same bank as Big Bang does, CL’s the only one who could compose music, and Dara and Bom are in their 30s now. I feel like CL’s so-called American Debut is just a ruse. Everyone knows it’ll flop, but he needs to justify dropping CL too so he’s setting her up along the road that SE7EN took. Flop American Debut equals years in the basement until they just fade away.
And the saddest thing is, I was REALLY REALLY looking forward to this year. Crush was brilliant, and would’ve won the girls awards at the end of year ceremonies. They could’ve performed collabs with WINNER and AkMu and Epik High who also had brilliant albums this year, but some asshole decided to take down Bom and now my favorite kpop group is basically kaput.
is it possible that 2ne1 members did not renew their contract in YGE…and CL wants to go solo…i smell break up of the group,since their contract is 5 yrs. and they have an age gap among the group…they have to find their way of life and dreams to fulfill as individual…maybe that what YG means about 2ne1 to reflect…
I’m guessing/assuming/my opinion is YG made this decision because CL will be spending much of her time in America getting ready for her US debut and will be absent from Korea. And then there’s a new girl group from YG that’s debuting in November for them to shine in the limelight without 2NE1 around.
This is a excellent time for Dara to be given a chance to be in a drama. I’m trying not to expect anything from YG because he has disappointed us so many times.
All I can do is hope for the best especially for our Dara and of course Minzy and Bom. That they are not just hung out on the clothesline to dry.
It’s not because of CL’s American debut. If anything, I think CL’s American debut is a way for him to get rid of her but not obviously, and in a way that would seem like he’s putting effort into supporting her. 2NE1’s image is destroyed in Korea now because of Bom’s scandal. When YG decided to defend her, it put public opinion against him and his agency is now known as the drugstore / the one where all the shameless problematic kids are. (GD, Seungri, Bom, SE7EN, etc…)
Plus he has all those new groups to play with now, so he doesn’t want to put in the effort to rehabilitate 2NE1’s image like he did for Daesung, GD, Seungri because the girls don’t make as much bank as Big Bang does anyway.

Get rid of CL? I dont agree because she is his favorite. In fact, I think she has a great chance of succeeding because of all the famous contacts and following she already has.
Yes YG idols are human and are not perfect. But all other entertainment groups are having their own scandals with many of their artists leaving the company etc. So to target YG idols is unfair… and to say 2NE1 did not make as much bank? They are highly successful and I almost thought for a second that you were not a blackjack until I read your other post. So panda, I just hope your not right because than I will be just like you, sad.

no worries. We are all upset and we get to share our thoughts and frustrations on this forum. Thank you Belle/Oh Dara for giving us this chance to share. We may not all agree but at least we can see how each other is feeling.
I’m not mad at CL. She is so deserving. But so are the other girls. I am mad at YG for not allowing Dara, Bom and Minzy to progress also. Remember that just a few days ago, Minzy took the words 2NE1 off her twitter account and Blackjacks were so worried. Well we now know that Minzy is upset and I’m sure our Dara and Bom is also. When has Dara ever come out so strong using words like “cruel” in this final Mix and Match competition. It sounded like she was criticizing YG for setting this up.
YG does not listen to us. But I hope as a Blackjack/daraling fandom, we will be able to show him as consumers, how powerful we are. You Stop my girls from performing, I will not support anyone else from YG. I came to YG because of 2NE1.
