They learned taekwondo kicks together, chopped carrots side by side and shared in their nervousness backstage before walking the runway.
The preliminaries of the Mr World 2010 contest ― sporting, talent, cooking and fashion challenges ― tested the inner and outer strengths of the participants, but their competitive spirit was more friendly than fierce.
The event, bringing together 74 young men from different corners of the world, was an opportunity for cultural exchanges and camaraderie.
“How else could I meet all these guys from different parts of the world, like my good friend here? I’m having the best time,” said Canada’s Ron Wear about buddy Kendrick Kemp from the Bahamas.
Spending time in Korea also meant discovering the local culture. They visited museums, temples and national parks. The young men shopped in downtown Seoul and did stretches with locals at Mt. Nam. They even got a peek at North Korea at an observatory in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ).
“I like Sandara Park,” said Mr Philippines Alvin De Joya about the Korean singer who has become famous in his home country. “I learned Korean for two days before coming here and I really like it.”
The past 15 days were only the preparatory steps for the moment of truth, when “the world’s most desirable man” will be crowned at Songdo ConvensiA, Incheon.

Late much, but the Korean Times posted an article about the Mr. World candidates in English. And they changed the Mr. Philippines’ words a bit. Of all the Mr. World candidates, they HAD to mention the Dara fanboy. LMAO! – Belle
With a dongsaeng who is walking down the same path as her, and dreaming the same dream as her, she is not alone in her celebrity life.
Sandara Park’s youngest brother is Cheondoong of MBLAQ. Although he overflows with charisma on stage, to Sandara Park, he’ll always be like a little kid.
“Cheondoong and I are six years apart. Starting from when he was young I’d carry him on my back and stuff and I always worried about him. Even still, when I see him perform on stage, it’s admirable. Isn’t he cute when he shows off his personal talents on variety shows?”
Cheondoong was added late into the group that Bi produced, MBLAQ. Because of this, he had to work twice as hard.
“Starting from when Cheondoong was young, he wanted to become a singer. He worked even harder than me at learning dance. I think he’s much better than me in terms of musical talent. (Laughs)”
While talking about Cheondoong, Sandara Park’s eyes were filled with love. 2NE1 members even said “Sandara Park is like Cheondoong’s stalker.”
“Cheondoong’s apartment is pretty far from ours so I can’t see him often. It seems like my brother’s busier than me. So we chat online and cam together online everyday. If I look at what Cheondoong is doing through webcam, the other members keep saying ‘She’s like one of his crazy fangirls.'”
2NE1 Sandara Park has asked fans to think of a new nickname for her.
Sandara Park wrote on her me2day page on 22nd March with a photo of herself attached, “Wassup!?ㅋI’ve been thinking about this together with those around me..ㅋIt is about the nickname DalOng! Isn’t it time to change it now? Because I wish toㅋDalOng DalOng it’s a cute nickname but it’s a little weird to keep calling it for no reason ㅋBody wise and heart wiseㅋㅋㅋI also want a short, cute and healthy nickname like baby Rin, Poppin MingJi and YoungChoon~!Kyak”
Fans have started giving Sandara Park the nickname of DalOng formed by joining ‘Dara’ and ‘Ong’ together. Netizens have been engaging in heated discussion after this to come up with new nicknames for Sandara like ‘SsanCho (short for Ssandara elementary school kid)’, ‘Dal-Rabbit’, ‘Da Roongie’, ‘Queen Dara’, ‘Dal Tokie’ leaving over 100 over replies to the post.
Sandara Park then replied “Ssan-Rabbit is cute.. I wanted to raise some and feed them.. A new chipmunk nickname is cute too I can then always have fun saying it ㅋ Is there any other good nicknames? Let’s pick a new nickname~! Ah come on! ^.^”

Yep..better late than never! As what a reader posted, good news is good news. Though its not a Dara-centered news, its still a good news for 2NE1 🙂 For some of you who didn’t know, Jeremy Scott is an international fashion designer very much known for his eclectic taste. He is amazing!!! as simple as that lol! ❤
2NE1 stylists and GDragon are huge huge Jeremy Scott fan so I’m guessing they’re thrilled to see this 🙂
And Perez replied 🙂
Many of you might have hated him but see? He can really make or break an artist hehehe Let’s appreciate his efforts for giving a spotlight/light on KPOP. If it isn’t obvious, I like Perez haha! ❤ But not the KPOP and fansite writers who try to be like him. nuh-uh! ne-vah!
See the invitation for the event below 🙂
Until the stage becomes a playground.
Though she had been looking forward to it for so long, Sandara says she was transfixed with the pressure and anxiety on her first performance. Because she’d never even considered becoming anything other than a singer, Sandara felt so much pressure thinking it was her one chance to make a good first impression on the public, and show how much effort she’d put in.
Wahahaha! More fanboys! Wonder when this interview happened though and why he was interviewed by Korean press. Hmmm, maybe it was one of Mr. World’s press meets and he got saddled with a Korean media person. Hey, not that I’m complaining. LMAO! A go go go!
A music video production diary written by Sandara herself will take the place of Part 7 of Sandara Park’s Star Diary. She wrote her own subheadings and posted the pictures herself too.
This is Reporter Dara! I see my reporting skills have been recognised by the outside world as well, so I get to be a reporter for the day.
It’s been a hot topic on the net lately. I am thinking of releasing the behind story of the filming of our ‘Try To Follow Me’ (‘TTFM’) music video.
Recently, girl group 2NE1 released their music video for “Try To Follow Me.” A month ago, it was revealed to be a CF song for the new Corby F phone, which the girls endorse. But it came as a surprise when YG Entertainment released the music video roughly a month after the song was released.
2NE1 has always been known to be a group that emphasizes the individual style of its members. Not surprisingly, this music video also showcased the members’ own, unique individuality, with the different splashes of color in the music video.
The music video showed all the members with their own, unique hairstyle. But none more unique than member Sandara Park’s bangs.
