woah, thank you so much for the link! i enjoyed watching our dara! i taught i will be waiting for this till nov. 24 and voila.. she’s so natural and pure on her acting! real darama soon juseyo!
I want to see the outtakes!
Oh this is gold! They poked fun on the korean “pop” culture. I think most international fans will find this funny. IMO, Dara’s screentime is just right. Doing this type of skit is risky specially to Knetizens and die hard korean pop culture fans, just look at how much hate comedians from Gag Concert are getting. Giving her a lead role might damage her career if the audience thinks the skit is offensive. Any backlash on this will not affect Steven because he has a thriving career in Hollywood, and his fans are exposed to this type of comedy.
Thank you for the link! Was so excited to watch Dara I hid at my desk at work to watch it. 😀
Here is my unbiased thoughts of the skit: it was cute. I think more than anything the intention was to take Steven Yeun, who is now quite a hollywood star, and expose him to the korean audience in a skit with a korean context. So that was what it was meant to be- funny and entertaining.
The storyline, while conventional, had a fresh twist with the whole ‘mokbang’ idea. There were some comical scenes that had me chuckling, but I have to admit that because I watched it mainly for Dara, I skipped most of the second and third episodes to the parts that had her in it. I like Steven Yeun too, from walking dead, just not as much. The plot does little to carry itself without it’s actors, but I think majority of viewers would be either Steven’s or Dara’s fans anyway.
While Steven and Dara did not exactly possess lover’s chemistry (scenes together might be too short to judge in any case), I thought they interacted really well together. Dara might have only appeared for no more than 3 minutes collectively but she was SUCH a delight to watch. My eyes were glued to her the entire time and the camera obviously loves her. She was charming, she was funny, and she’s such a natural. She acted the part by putting her actress self before her idol stuff (hence no stiff, ‘pretty’ acting we see from a lot of idols, thank goodness), she wasn’t afraid to ACT, and she did great. If people do not already know/ love her before watching this, I’m sure this will pique their curiosity. For Daralings, this only makes us pine for more DARAMA. Plus she got to work with Steven freaking Yuen, guys! At the peak of his Walking Dead popularity, no less. Kudos to them also for incorporating an almost entirely 2ne1 soundtrack. I’d say it’s good exposure all around!
Let’s continue to be supportive and spread the link for all to see. At this point I’m sure YG would be monitoring fan’s responses.
In summary: the skit itself was alright, Dara was great in it and she got to work with Steven Yeun! I’m really excited to see what upcoming acting projects will come out of this! YG, Dara’s passion is acting, please give her more opportunities cause we can’t get enough of her!
I hope I’m in the minority because I found the skit to be slapstick ridiculous. I wanted more for our Dara and what little Dara had to do was fine. It was suppose to be funny but I thought it was dumb. I hope she will be able to get into a K-Drama soon. Was the company who produced it American or Korean?
My thoughts exactly. The only reason I enjoyed watching it was because Dara was a delight to watch. To be honest, Dara’s acting isn’t all impressive but she has potential. She just needed a better material, a light drama, to work on.
It is already released!!!! http://www.befunnystudios.com/subdetail.asp?contentCd=98&videoId=Zb2dZU1Q-o4c60hVw&videoType=jw
