On January 16, the 28th Annual Golden Disk Awards will be broadcasted live on JTBC from Kyung Hee University’s Grand Peace Palace. Fans can expect to see top idol stars perform including Girls’ Generation, INFINITE, EXO, Beast,CNBLUE, B1A4, SHINee, SISTAR, 2NE1, 4minute,Davichi, A-Pink, Roy Kim, Crayon Pop, and more. According to sources, the artists will perform not only their own songs, but also songs that had previously won the Grand Prize in the Annual Gold Disk Awards. This year, the legendary rock band Deulgukhwa will be awarded the executive critics’ choice award and their performance will feature prominent artist Jun In Kwon.

A representative stated, “The 28th Annual Golden Disk Awards will be broadcasted live on JTBC for four hours starting 5 PM KST. We have prepared a great show that best suits the prestigious award ceremony. We hope the viewers will enjoy the many performances as we kick off the new year.”

Awards are dependent on record single and album sales. The nominees are divided into the two categories of digital releasing and album releasing. Awards by genre will be given to eight artists; the Grand Prize Award will be given to one artist; and the Newbie Award will be given to two or three artists.
