I thought it meant “prized” woman at first. Although some feminists may disagree-has a romantic notion in the traditional sense. But I read this explanation from KimHJ and would like to quote a portion:
“상여자 is kind of fad word prevailing these days in Korea.
Direct translation of 상 is gonna be high.
But, in this case, meaning of 상여자 is most feminine woman.”
Some nuance get lost in the translation especially colloquialism.
