2NE1 Performs for 7,000 Fans During “New Evolution” in New Jersey
K-Pop idol group 2NE1 performed in front of 7,000 American fans during their first ever exclusive concert in the United States.
Yesterday, August 18, 2NE1 performed at the Newark Prudential Center in New Jersey for their “New Evolution” global tour. Previously, global stars like Lady Gaga, the Eagles, Sting and Bon Jovi have all performed at the venue and it still continues to be recognized as a concert location for top stars.
Although the concert began a little later than the original scheduled because of technical difficulties, the fans forgot about the delay as soon as the opening video for 2NE1 began to play.
2NE1 appeared on stage to open their concert with their internationally famous song “I Am the Best”, followed by “Fire”, “Clap Your Hands”, “I Don’t Care”, and “Don’t Stop the Music” to heat up the crowd in the audience.
Soon after, each member of 2NE1 showed up on stage individually to deliver their specially prepared performances. 2NE1’s leader, CL, transformed into a DJ and introduced various pop numbers and created a club-like atmosphere while Bom performed her solo song “You and I.” Dara also performed her solo song “Kiss” and showed off a provocative performance that excited the fans. Dara apparently chose a fan in the audience to come up to the stage during her performance. Minzy performed a powerful dance number that shocked the audience.
2NE1 performed a total of 23 songs in approximately 2 hours and successfully wrapped up their first “New Evolution” concert in the United States. After 2NE1 was announced as one of the best new bands in the world, this was their 2nd performance as well as their first exclusive concert ever in the United States. 2NE1 will perform at the LA Nokia Theater on August 24.
On August 22, 2NE1 will visit the head office of Facebook for a “Facebook Live” interview that will broadcast live worldwide. 2NE1 will be the first Asian group to be interviewed by Facebook.
After their concert in LA, 2NE1 will head to Japan to continue their “New Evolution” world tour on August 31.

Please don’t mind the immature haters….I was there…my friends were there…many of you were there…we know what we saw…they will believe what they want to believe and you can’t control their reactions. But what you CAN control is HOW YOU REACT to those stupid comments!! Who are the losers but them cuz they missed a damn good show!!
i saw the photos the upper one doesnt have any people its really empty .. the vip didnt sell out well .. well all the haters are starting to bash 2ne1 in allkpop that they flop ,,they keep comparing them to snsd which i dont like .. yg didnt promote 2ne1 well i saw some comment to that said they didnt even know that 2ne1 had a concert .. they were shocked ..
yg promotion this year is really disappointing .. yg focus more on bigbang and the new group .. while 2ne1 are left out .. i miss the time when yg is being fair with her group .. back in 2009 and 2010 .. but 2011 and i think 2012 is not working .. i hope their new album will promote well

Not sure if it’s really 7000, but i saw someone tweeted that the attendees are mostly 7000 (he attended the concert and he’s japanese.) he had quite good photos from the concert.

lol..their are more than 7000 went there… 15000 for sure.. I remember during there performance on MTV IGGY in a theater their were lucky 5000 fans were able to get to watch the show.. this NEWS is freaking WROng!

The capacity could not have been 20 thousand since that number is for a center stage concert. 2ne1 had an end stage setting which even extended to section 19 where we were thus occuping a lot more space. The empty seats were over the sides near the giant screens on each end for obvious reasons of a lack of good view of the show and way up at the 200 level on the sides of the venue. (that’s why the info from fancams can be deceiving regarding attendance).Otherwise the place for sure was more than 3/4 full…and the awesome ENERGY spilled over to the outside and beyond!!!!
from YG’s offcial photos, it looks like it’s almost sold out.. if the capacity’s 20K, there’s something wrong with this news.. hehe..

i don’t think its just 7K BJ’s.. According to the YG United site there are around 15,000 fans who attended the concert.. To which i think is more the truth, because Prudential has a 20K max capacity of audience..If there are only 7K fans i don’t think they will cont.the concert cause it only means that they did not meet a 50% of tickets sold..
I’m scared of the guy on the 2nd pic, the one who wears a red shirt at the center—- I don’t think I see his eyes and it looks like his face is chopped off— :O
