Who are the true biggest starts in the music industry? In 2011, advertising agencies choose singer turned actor, Rain (real name Jung Ji-Hoon) and group Big bang, who are preparing for their comeback, as the stars with highest quality and are worth the money.
On the 5th, TV Report made a survey with Jeil Planning, Keum Kang Oh Gil Bi and other advertising agencies, who all deal with singers and artists participating as CF models, to investigate on how much these artists make for CFs, as of January this year. According to the CF pay indicators, Rain and Big Bang’s salaries go through the roof, amounting to 1 to 1.5 billion won (based on their yearly income, and depending on the brand and whether the CF is continuous or not), and are classified as “Special A-Class” stars.

2PM, SNSD, Lee Hyori, and 2NE1 all make around 800 to 900 million won, closely followed by Boa, at 700-800 million won, proving that she is still a top star. Although they don’t carry as much weight as those previously mentioned, wildly popular artists like Lee Seung-Gi, Kim Hyun-Joong, Park Jae-Bum, Super Junior, JYJ, Son Dambi, and Wonder Girls, all make around 500-600 million won.
2AM, CN Blue, Kara, 4Minute, MBLAQ, After School (excluding UEE), and other artists were classified as those earning at least 400 million won per CF. After School member, UEE, as a solo model, earns more than 400 million won, and is being heralded as the next generation CF star. In addition, IU, who is emerging as a trend in the main-stream music industry, along with FT Island, Seo In-Young, Secret, and others are being negotiated with 200 to 300 million won,for their names to appear as CF stars.
