Literary professor, Mak Wang Soo (60 years old, Professor, Yonsei University, Korean Language and Literature), after watching girl group 2NE1′s R&B music video “It Hurts,” starring member, Sandara Park (27), got inspired to make a poem when he saw “singer Sandara Park’s lion hairstyle,” on the 2nd.
In the “It Hurts” music video, Sandara Park plays a girl who is separated from her partner. The pain of separation makes her forget herself, leaving her hair to grow long and matted, eventually making it look like a lion’s mane. But this unusual hairstyle has left a huge impression to the poet, inspiring him to write a poem.
“Coming down to your waist/ Letting your hair grow long/ Besides your hair is becoming fuller/ Your hair’s volume makes you look like a lioness/ Yet you still look so sexy and innocent.” //“허리까지 내려오게/ 머리를 길게 기르고/ 게다가 머리카락들을 부풀려/ 수사자 머리처럼 볼륨을 주니까/ 무지막지하게 섹시해 보이네.””
Professor Mak reveals, “Sandara Park is a woman who has an extraordinary face, despite having a hairstyle with shocking volume; however it looked suprisingly sexy and incredibly alluring,” he said, “I want to award her big points for being such a pioneer,” he finished.
“Too many artificial beauties (人工美) victories/ Looking at you with your real face/ How can a wig/ I look at you, you // A natural beauty in a time that has long forgotten it.”//“역시 인공미(人工美)의 승리/ 진짜 머리면 어떻고/ 가발이면 어때/ 너, 꼭 명심해 둬// 자연미인의 시대는 이미 갔다는 걸.””
Professor Mak continues, “In the music video, Sandara Park was clearly wearing a wig,” he said, “It was so impressive that I asked my acquaintances to look for one of similar shape. Then they found one you can buy for 95,000 won,” he laughed. “However, the wig doesn’t really matter. Her natural beauty and charming aura was such a great one that you could really feel it,” he said, complimenting Sandara Park.
In 1977, Professor Mak established himself as a poet with his “Contemporary Literature” always being recommended. On 1989, he published an essay titled, “I like sexy women,” which was criticized for blatant promotion of hedonism. “Pleasant Sarah” (1991) was slammed as an obscene novel, which was the cause for his arrest and two months custody, and also for his dismissal from the faculty.
Meanwhile, on February, 2NE1 and Sandara Park will be promoting under Japanese company, Avex. American hip hop group Black-Eyed Peas leader, Will.I.Am (36) is also working on their album for their American debut.

I also think that Mak Wang Soo is not a pervert man. He is a poet in the first place (or rather a radical poet as some would also say here). He was inspired by Dara…Dara was the muse of his poem; she became an inspiration for his creative work…and that’s really amazing.
Looks like Dara really inspires a lot of people from different line of works..remember, Dara’s name was also mentioned in Fatdoo song- I’ll Be your Oasis and Double Trouble’s Hold On. i am proud that dara served as an inspiration for a known poet… once you inspire a poet, there is something extraordinary in you… and as we all know, dara is extraordinary…
some said that some of his lines are quite pervish but i think it is just his literary style… or his way of expressing his ideas… i write poems too and sometimes you use flowery words that do not literally mean the way you wrote it… poets have creative minds… so don’t think badly about him…
i also think it would be nice if dara meets him but of course not too close… dara still needs protection from him since he seems to like dara a lot…

Mak Wang Soo, like all men of great taste (Jive are you here?), saw true beauty and charm in Goddess D to have written such verses, one that shown thru that hideous wig! Hurrah to beauty that permeates into the hearts & souls of men and women from all ages and borders.
Don’t think it comes as being anything erotic. Maybe sensual but not erotic.
The poem is a tribute to a true/natural beauty that has become rarer to find amidst the superficiality of this world and how such beauty can entice men across generations.
The message the poet wants to convey is that true beauty is from within. It is a testament to her innocence and how alluring it is to world-weary souls.
