Promising actor, Sandara Park of girl group 2NE1, says that she wants to concentrate on her music activities first.
In a recent interview, Sandara Park speaks about her plans for acting, in response to the many rumors about it, “Someday, I would like to act, but now does not seem to be the right time,” she said, stressing on her focus on her music activities.
After one year, 2NE1 recently introduced their full album. Because of the long time wherein the girls were in hiatus, the full regular album was met with much affection. And the activities are also big, making the girls busy.
Dara appeared in “The Return of Iljimae” in 2009, and we asked about what she thought of her performance there, and she told us with total lack of candidness, “Every time someone watches “The Return of Iljimae” episode, I always fall quiet since I am a little embarrassed,” she continued, “I feel that my previous appearances in dramas and acting was not enough, and acting is not easy.”
She also said, “One day I would love to try acting again. This is something I must approach very carefully,” she continued, “Now, I am content with acting on stage.”

anyways, she is really doing good in terms of her musical activities now. it would be hard for her if she would do acting at the same time since they are too busy now promoting their album.

Poor Dara, what she said sounds scripted and word for word written by YG for her to tell… We all know what is really in her heart… I guess the price she has to pay for 2NE1 being famous and their goal to go international…

i disagree. i think Dara is happy with how her music career with 2NE1 is going. and she knows her place, and her priorities. she’s not a kid that YG needs to feed what to say to this and that.

I also have to disagree with you mathel828. I know dara loves acting but being a singer has always been her dream since her younger years. She was given a break by YG to be part of 2ne1, so it is just right for her to prioritize her singing career. Though I am also sad cause I really want to see her in a Kdrama series, but that has to wait. And I am very much willing to wait. There ia a time for everything.

Me too was kinda hoping she can act in a drama or comedy…but i agree with you guys that singing is best for now qnd actig could come later when thy have reached their goals as 2ne1. Being in a group they need to establish themselves and later on branch as solos may it be in music or acting…dara has dreamt to be a singer since she was here in the philippines and seeing er fulfill that makes us proud:) i hope they get known worldwide:) seeing a girl group like 2ne1 is like spice girls with a twist of hiphop:)

im glad. she’s part of 2NE1 so she should really focus on this first. she’s not getting any younger, i dont really see her performing 2NE1 songs when she’s 30 something. so right now it’s good that she does singing.
at least with acting, even though she does it later, she can still portray roles of any age coz she’ll always be young-looking.

Hmmm…me too kinda disappointed but at least she’s being focused in her singing career, before returning to acting. She did improved a lot in her singing during the 2NE1 comeback stage. She also improved in her acting during the CASS beer commercial w/ Lee Minho, that’s why she receives a lot of offer to do a drama series but of course she will refuse it since YG wants her to improve her singing performance. I know when a good offer comes with the good script, almost perfect leading man and if the price is right, for sure our Goddess D will try acting again. ^_^
