The promotions for 2NE1, who is making a comeback after 1 year and 2 months, by YG is shocking. He is throwing in an unlimited amount of investment and creative approaches for the 2NE1 promotion.
On the 9th, along with the release of their first album ‘To Anyone’, the streets of Seoul will be driven over by 2 huge buses and 10 mini BMWs wrapped with a fierce 2NE1 photo shoot image. For the vehicle wrapping work, YG explains that he hired an advertisement artist and a photographer to create one masterpiece.
Also a 2NE1 artist channel was opened on Youtube, and in the multiplex CGV theaters, there will be a 30 second long teaser of 2NE1′s music video playing before the movies. 20,000,000 won was invested on theater ads alone. This is unparalleled in the history of album promotions for an idol group.
2NE1′s first album release was also shocking. They flipped over all expectations by announcing three songs, Can’t Nobody, Go Away, and Clap Your Hands, as title tracks. Their focus on intense and powerful beats as opposed to the average girl groups’ stereotypical modes of sexy and cutesy immediately set them apart.
In addition to this, there is a simultaneous world promotion happening, aiming for the international market. With Japan promotions expected to start next year, the album will be simultaneously released online in not only within Korea, but also in the Apple music site, I-Tunes. YG Entertainment already has a history of having been in up in ranks in the I-Tunes music chart with Taeyang, Top, and Big Bang’s songs.

Wow! That’s what marketing strategy is all about he-he…YG is the best when it comes to his music artists, he is all out in promoting their music when it comes to talented artists. I can’t wait for 2NE1’s performance with their new hot dance moves (I bet) and of course those much awaited MV’s. Hmmm.. I keep checking on YT for the 2NE1 channel but it’s not out yet and all their songs that was posted in All Kpop has now been blocked by YG. I love all their songs…totally awesome (auto-tune or not). I already have their mini-cd and now their 1st album. 2NE1 fighting!!! ^_^
