Sandara Park has already made a surprise appearance in MBC’s “Return of Iljimae” last year. She showed a completely different side of her playing the role of a ninja’s daughter Riero (sp?) saving Iljimae (played by Jung Il Woo)’s life.
It has been found out Sandara is getting many lovecalls from Choongmooro. She got a request to be the protagonist role in the Korean version of “Step Up”. A staff said, “We’ve sent the scenario to Sandara. We thought she was the perfect cast for this project since she can sing and dance and has already tried acting in movies and dramas of Philippines and Korea.”
Staff of YG Entertainment, which Sandara is part of, said “Sandara got lovecalls from not just that movie, but a few other dramas and movies asking her to play the protagonist role. She’s been an actress already in the Philippines and has also constantly been getting acting lessons as a member of 2NE1. From now on, the fans might be able to see her in movies and dramas, not just on stages performing as 2NE1.”

posting here because I’m annoyed with the haters in blogposts regarding Dara’s offer for Step Up Kor. ver. Too much bashing and defending too.
On a positive note, it seems like everyone is interested in Dara LOL. It’s like everyone’s monitoring her progress and wants to direct her life. Just goes to show how popular she is. Like her or hate her, she definitely has made her mark in kpop world.
Although many may want YG family members as her partner in case she gets casted, I’m seriously thinking of the guy who was her partner in Kiss at MAMA. He’s an actor right? And he dances really well. I think he may be up as her partner.
I actually want Dara in a rom com or a historical drama like Queen Seonduk. I’m more afraid of her being the lead at this point because it will technically be her first time. It might be different than her previous acting experience. Plus, with 2NE1’s comeback, it’s going to be hard to juggle the activities.

never mind the negativity. bloggers/writers are free to speak their mind…if that’s what they think then let them be. Some writers do it on purpose just to gain hundreds of comments and some are just being rational. If you get so affected by it, you’ll just end up having the worst day of your life.

i research the step up its a american movie isn’t it… i just forgot that i watched does movie in a cinema..the girl play a inocent and a good dancer right and her leading men its a dancer too right so it could be YB or GD because they both good dancer TOP is a good rapper not in dancer so it could be YB or GD..the american girl play as a inocent and a good dancer where she realize that dance is more important to her…but if yb or gd there’s a kissing scene between them because i just watched the ending of a american movie the last ending is a kissing scene..so i hope it will be yb or gd..

Hi scarlet, if you look at the allkpop criteria for their Writers application they can be of any race. Some of the criteria are witty, humorous , can translate from Korean to English, etc. I won’t be surprised if some of them are Filipinos.
As any tabloid (written or internet-based), they try to make stories colorful because they sell and they will always be biased.
I just believe that YGE has good decision-making skills and knows what will be good for Dara. And most of all I truly believe that our girl will rise above these all as long as what Yap said “we’re always behind her, beside her, and in front of her to protect her” and support her.
