5^th Place: 2NE1

2009 has been overrun with rookie girl groups. But none as successful as 2NE1, the four-member group produced by YG Entertainment. All four members have distinct looks and skills, but none as prominent and beautifully poisonous as fresh-voiced vocalist, Sandara Park.

The tremendous popularity if this “goddess” was first seen in the Philippines, where Sandara Park first debuted. And now, she is also popular in the Republic of Korean, where she is part of 2NE1, the popular “Female Big Bang,” where she got attention with her striking and brilliant beauty (Did I just read the writer cussing in English, with “f*cking, brilliant beauty?! WTH?! Sorry, had to change his words to keep things PG and not R. -Belle). And even with her weird, towering, reaching-the-sky palm tree hairstyle, her womanly cuteness still shone through.

She has received attention because of many pictures of her, posted online. In one picture, it showed Sandara with tissue tears with a broken trophy that they received in a music program. This comical expression received attention and lead to other artists copying the “tissue tears,” pose. There are many varied expressions that she shows, including one slightly terrible situation with a picture of scissors pressed on her forehead.

Her age, 26 years old, has shocked many people, since that would mean that there is a whopping ten-year difference between her, and youngest member, Minzy. But her clear, porcelain skin and youthful face doesn’t make her look her age. Skin imperfections does not seem to appear in Sandara’s true beauty.

She was first recognized in Korea for starring opposite Big Bang’s popular rapper, TOP. In a music video, they played lovers, with her leaning on his shoulders, and holding his waist in a motorcycle ride. But fans of Big Bang foamed at the mouth because of the kissing scene that the two shared. Netizens voiced their anger and jealousy over that certain scene.

And not too long ago, more people and netizens got even more jealous because of the kiss scenes she shared with popular male actor, Lee Min-Ho, for their CF for Cass Beer. She was chosen the honor to be the brand’s endorser.

Indeed, she has proved that she can become a popular idol, considering her age. She adds fun and beautiful color to her girl group. Fans expect beautiful Sandara Park to shine and are looking forward to more shows.
