2NE1’s member, Sandara Park performed “Kiss” for her debut stage in the recent MAMA awards ceremony. However, it wasn’t just Dara’s kiss that got notice, but also her smile.
Dara’s bright and appealing smile on many pictures on the Internet, has caught the attentions of many, even when she makes faces, her pictures still show her quirky and bright personality.

okay..about the MAMA’s 21st Musical-since I’m a big fan of her since her SCQ days, everything that she’s doing is special to me..she may not be the best singer, best dancer or actress for other people but for me and for the fans who know her so well, she’s the best. Her perf for me is good. She did a great job. Why some people expect her to sing like bom? dance like minzy and cl? she’s Sandara for God’s sake..Sandara is different from the 3 girls. Her voice is different, her moves are different why expect her to be as good as them if their standards are high? Even if Sandara pushes herself to her limits as long as they don’t accept her as her, they won’t see any improvement on her.
I’m sorry but evethings getting out of hand now..like what you said, Dara’s fans are civilized people. Old and New fans of her are people who are just letting those issues pass by,coz we know what’s the truth.
Dara didn’t crack-why is it everytime she sangs and there’s a bit of change in her voice they say she cracks? when they perform individually they see Dara’s mistakes? When the performance is not good, they blame Dara? Just becuz she’s the “weakest” (accrdng to them), she’s the one to be blamed? WTF is that?
Shipping-at first I dont ship..our rule as a Parker, who ever Dara love, we will accept it. Dara and Dara only. But shipping is fun..it gives happiness..so I ship(though I’m a HeroSan fan) but since I saw a chemistry in DaraGon and DaraYang I support it. But sometimes shipping is getting out of hand. Shippers said something bad to the other member of 2ne1..we didn’t even know if the couples we are rooting is a real couple! Just by looking at Dara, you will never notice her mistakes coz you are too mesmerized by her expressions.(unless you really try to look for a mistake)

@chacha, there are quite a few of them in YT (antidara2NE1, fuglybitchdara, etc) and they are Sohee’s fans. They posted Dara’s pictures for UNO magazine and called her bad names. I never watched them, I just read the comments and I will just reply on each hater how good she is as a person, friend, daughter and as a sister. I will never say anything bad about Sohee. There will always be hatred (jealousy), tough world. There was even one subscriber that end up apologizing.
Learn from Dara, how she ignored all the bad things and events that she had encountered in her life. She is a better person and she never let those things stop her and she never fought back because she just keeps smiling.

dara’s kiss perf was great for me. if i base it on the videos i have seen her singing way before 2ne1. i definitely see the improvement. a lil more time and i know she will get there.
and among the three stages the kiss stage had so many things going on. she was walking,dancing, acting,and even running at one point. she was literally moving everywhere on stage. plus mnets sound system has always been crap. so i dont blame her if at one point she sounded off. bom on the other hand was just singing. not much movement so her vocals are strong. i love bom i have been a fan since we belong together. i anticipated her solo debut but i guess YG saw that bom still needs to improve on her stage presence/charisma/confidence. i have seen her perfs with bb though her vocals are strong she doesnt shine much on stage. the maknae’s are really talented but.^.^ oh well ill just stop there. so what im trying to say is. there is definitely a reason why all of them are put into one group instead of debuting them as solo artists. coz definitely they shine the most as 2ne1. i just hope some people would just stop being so critical on dara. i know its inevitable but its quite unfair on her part to be compared with the other girls’ vocal strength. well having been into kpop for a few years i have learned the value of ignoring those hate comments. ^.^
@len2 i may be generalizing, but i think majority of international 2ne1 fans are dara fans from the philippines. if it wasn’t for dara, i wouldn’t even bother with kpop. i myself got into 2ne1 because of curiosity with dara but i was never a fan of her when she was here. even when she debuted, still wasn’t a fan. it was when 2ne1 tv aired and when i got to know her personality through fan accounts that i became a fan. but yeah, she already has an established fanbase and it was to YG’s advantage. i mean, filipinos are all over the world wide web. we are very active forum posters and webpage makers. we create buzz for 2ne1 in the international scene. again, i could be wrong.
@pikachu i get why they are complaining about dara’s over exposure compared to the other girls. but like they say to us when we complain about dara’s lack of presence in Family Outing, people in charge know who to focus on. if you don’t have presence, you don’t get exposure. this is the only place i can say this and i’m sorry if it offends the other blackjacks, but they’ve said it first. and if this offends them, imagine how we dara fans feel when they say it about dara. that’s why we keep quiet about it. they should too. if they can’t say something nice, keep it to yourselves.
daragon fans can be out of control and there are some who irritate even me with their over zealous love for the shipping when they go to other sites (like youtube). so we should tone this down a little bit and learn to spazz in the right sites. i’m all up for spreading daragon love but let’s not shove it at people’s faces. not everyone appreciates it.
i may be a dara fan but i am also very much a 2ne1 fan. cl, minji, bom and dara are 2ne1 for me. i do not bash the other members when they make mistakes. i may comment but i choose my words carefully. i focus on their good points and the positive.
hopefully this is the last that i will say about this matter. again, i don’t mean and i hate to offend anyone, just letting out what i am thinking all this time but didn’t voice aloud in respect to the other fans and to keep the peace. i can only say this here because i know people here can hopefully understand my side.

Since were on MAMA topic here, i also would like to voice my opinion 😉 To say i didn’t get hurt when the blogger pointed out gd and KTW’s no reaction to ‘kiss’ with a matching cricket sound, would be a lie. It was a slap in the face and yeah it hurts like that! and to think i would be -numb- after reading a lot of negative criticisms about her performances in the past.
Despite her being harsh on her comments, i don’t have any hard feelings against her. Though she should have toned down her criticisms even just a wee bit. Well i’m just glad she’s a 2ne1 fan coz it could have been worse if she’s an anti. But now all i could think of was that maybe YG have made the wrong choice of debuting them as solo artists this early. 2ne1 is not like the average kpop girlgroup, they are a huge success because of what yb has pointed out on his interview, “individual talents and charms”. It certainly didn’t help that during their debut, fans already have singled out their faves and comparing 2ne1 members to each other. This is what’s causing the rift between BJs and i personally think that sometimes we’re the ones (in general) creating trouble for the girls. U know.. 2ne1 being hated because of our over-fascination with them, more like ‘one’ of them..
About other members’ fans, i don’t know what to make of them actually. It was a pain in the ass to read comments saying they are “pissed off” that Dara’s been gaining more attention than the other members.. wat the..? Like duhhh.. tell that to Mr. YG!
And lastly, i have noticed that the shippings are getting out of hand. I see Daragon almost everywhere and Im sorry to say this but its pissing others off, causing hate between ships. Since they can’t hurt you or any fan for that matter, of course they take it out on Dara.. errr am i making any sense? ygL and ohdara are very good places to spazz.. 😉 oh and Dara’s smile is pure <3.

Guys, I’m with you with Dara’s performance and NO she didn’t crack that was just bad audio! But the “Carrie” pun was meant to defend Dara not to say that the show was horrible with her part. The blogger actually wanted the celeb audience to be more revved up with the performance (when they were so lack luster, she wanted to burn the house down Carrie style) w/c I find amusing.
I’m glad Dara fans are so civilized. Blowing off steam at the right place. We don’t want to provoke others and be labeled emotional fanatics w/c is slightly true… hehehe on my part anyway! i just want to comment on that… because i find it really sad and annoying that while we dara fans take so much abuse, we say nothing bad about the other members.
it’s so unfair. we could’ve harped on about a lot of the mistakes the others had made. cl has also cracked. minji has also messed up choreo. and bom has also made lots of mistakes. but we dara fans don’t bring that up into the conversation and bash them.
honestly, since i am speaking frankly here… cl fans are much worse. they attack dara probably because of the rivalry between the shippings. and to think that dara and cl are very close friends!
i’m sorry if i am bringing up more issues, but i just have to let all the frustrations out. we dara fans are only defensive when there is something to defend and dara is attacked. we don’t attack any of the members. i hope that they show the same courtesy.

Dara’s Kiss performance was really good… she maximized the use of her stage, she oozed with charisma and confidence, and exuded amazing stage presence… facial expressions were also very good. Her singing and dancing skills may not be as good as the others, but she delivered and in the future, she will definitely improve more. 🙂

Plus really its hard to do walking, acting, singing especially when you are not a theater actress. But she really did well on the acting part. Oh anyway, I know Dara is a hardworking girl. no, dara wasn’t bad in Kiss…it was great! i would even go so far as to say that i think it’s the best perf..why? because as much as i hate to say this, bom’s stage was boring though her voice was great, and i am STILL trying to like Please Don’t go, though the maknaes rocked the stage, really with their rap and dance..and yeah, i think Kiss was good because for one thing, that song was recorded quite some time ago unlike Please Dont Go which was just recent, so Dara needed more time to practice and whatnot, and this is her first solo stage, unlike Bom…
anyway, love all the girls..but i have a soft spot for dara…
OT: why do i find soooo many articles on Dara?! and just limited ones for the other girls? K writers seem to find her their fave subject..LOL!
thank’s belle…i was hurt too when she pointed out kim tae woo and gd had no reaction during dara’s performance…i dunno know about this….ok dara may not have the best voice amongst the members and she may not have the best dancers but for once i hope people will see how she try her best to at least not dissapoint her members and i think she is doing a great job…

hehe i would be surprised if Kim Tae Woo is rockin’ and waving his hands on Bom’s perf (cause its a slow song) haha what I mean is Dara’s song is dancy but not UPBEAT unlike Pls Don’t Go…I know you’ll get what I’m saying sakata hehehe.
And also I wanna point out that I don’t like Minji and CLs perf too…Minji’s forever a good performer and I believe she’s the MOSTtalented but CL’s rapping style when performing… idk, but she’s like shouting most of the time. Bom’s voice is really good and I’m okay with her performance.
also want to comment because i also feel that way towards that other site. for a while i stopped commenting there because there were some who i feel are very rude and they will never leave there so i was the one who decided to leave the site.

re dara’s performance – it wasn’t perfect. i think the “crack” people were talking about was really an attempt to have, i don’t know the term, but it’s like “kulot ang boses” in filipino? like, it’s a broadway-type of song and the tone changes?
and re bom… i love her and her voice. but i feel that the reason why yg put her in a group is because she still doesn’t have enough stage presence/confidence to fill up the stage. she is getting better with it, though and the snow was very pretty.
i didn’t like the maknaes’ song when i first heard it but the choreo sold it. if i didn’t see it performed i wouldn’t have liked it, tbh. the chorus transition weirded me out.
LOL. Enough about that… we’re commenting on something on something not about the article.
On topic: I wonder what part of Dara they will focus on next? Her ears? Her chin? Her eyes? For me, I want her metabolism. I will eat and eat and eat and never get fat! LOL.

Dara did great on her Kiss performance and showed that she had come a long way. Nobody should compare her to the rest of the girls in singing and dancing skills for those are not her forte and YG did not sign her up for those reasons either. The whole purpose of the show or any show is to entertain and I bet that thousands of people loved it. Our girl can make other people laugh, inspired and forget their worries which are greater skills. Her singing and dancing are just a plus.
I also believe that Dara is 2NE1 lucky charm, the girl with the palm tree hair made the news, copied by comedians and unforgettable. She is the only one in the group who can take this kind of funny hairdo because her beauty can take it, she is a natural eye candy.
I love Bommie, is very gorgeous but she is quite boring because she looks like she is ready to fall asleep while performing. Her voice tone is beautiful but she get very nasal and she gets flat when the note goes down. Listen at her MAMA performance her last oh… oh… are off tune. I will not call that professional performance. She is very good with high notes. I apologize for speaking up but I guess it is about time and I believe that I am among peers. I promise that I had kept my silence for a very long time and will not repeat this again.
CL and Minzy are both talented girls, no doubt. Let us face it CL was a JYP trainee but she did not make it and almost beg YG boss to get her. She is very talented but her height and darker color will not get her into a group. Like Yap, I did not like their duet until they performed it at the MAMA. All 2NE1 fans should just love them equally because United they stand and divided they will fall.
I apologize again to all but nobody had apologized to Dara’s fans for bashing her over and over again, enough is enough.

i was hurt when someone commented that dara need to step up the game after the kiss performance because she looked like amateur that night but i respect her opinion…and someone also commented that she needs to mute the sound when she started to sing during the opening number…
was dara really bad during kiss performance?…i know dara work double time because they continously questioning her as part of 2ne1 (at least by int’l fans) but i think knetizens are loving dara…
hehe honestly…I don’t think her performance was that bad. It was okay but not the best. I’m confident that she’ll improve..she can do it! GO GO GO !
