In my perspective I think Dara is just content in her place right now. Her career is taking off, and so many opportunities awaits, so what’s the rush? Her answer to me is not a definite no, but just something that she doesnt wish upon. Of course, any girl wants that happy married life but also everyone have different standards and expectations to complete that, so maybe Dara just wanna focus on this exciting ride of her life and not too focus on the future. Am i making sense? Hmm lol put in simpler words, she’s just enjoying living in the present and takings things as they come.

Although this is not the field of psychology I practice, I once sat down with a colleague who did and queried her about this: Dara-on trusting men, and marriage. Of course, the issue with the father came up. Isn’t he to whom the blame always went back to? What my colleague counter-reacted left me bemused: And how is her relationship with the other men in her life- sans romantic? Thunder! Verdict: very healthy, loving, and caring relationship. But that’s her brother, you’d say. Sans romantic, remember? Well, if you bring the father as a conduit, why not the brother? How about Se7en? Luis? Spiffy, then? ^^ Dara do trust men. She just doesn’t trust some of them. Or, one of them. Whichever. But that will have more to do on who he is and what he has done to her than on what she had experienced with her father. There’s a scar, that’s true, but as Thunder, et. al proves it’s not deep. Likewise, when she says “I don’t wanna get married.” it’s not because she doesn’t believe in marriage per se or that she doesn’t trust men…it’s just that…she doesn’t believe in marrying someone she doesn’t trust. Or, didn’t earn it. But, hey! Someone trustworthy will eventually earn it. Fanboys!!! The Big Word: TRUST.

Blaise, im your fan. hehe. maybe because I’m old and have been through many life experiences, TRUST stands out loud and clear. You can fall in love with anybody, but it doesnt mean you marry anyone you fall in love with.
There will be someone for her who will love her unconditonally and will be able to earn her trust! And we will be there to celebrate with her when the time comes!
Besides the trust issue discussion, have anyone considered questioning Dara’s sexuality? I’m not sure if anyone is open minded about it here but I’m curious per se but who knows actually but her. There are at least five known different human sexuality: hetero, homo, bi, pan, & asexual. If she doesn’t fall on any of these I don’t know what else. She must be really especial!

There can still be little dara like brangelina they didn’t have traditional marriage but they were already married by themselves and they had beautiful children. If only that will work here in Asia. Often times, when a beautiful woman like her said that they won’t marry, it means that someone broke her heart severely that she tend to stay away from the word married, hubby, kids or boyfriend for a while, they will most often say ‘i’m single’ and enjoying their free status instead..until they’re ready to come out dating again and found new love (who will then promised them the word ‘married & kids’ all over again). be happy baby girl, u can do this ❤
Maybe but I think her father broke her heart and left a scar to her after that incident. She saw how after a “marriage” it’s not always like Disney’s they live happily ever after. Well for me, we’re free to choose whether we want to marry or not even you already have a significant other. But I will always root for her to have kids cos those genes of hers (kind heart and good looks)…they have to spread like wildfire! Lol kidding but seriously those genes I like to keep them alive forever!

Ditto! Very perceptive. Everyone deserves to be valued, respected, and loved. When we reach a point in our relationships where we have to suffer our dignity to keep it, it’s time to start thinking that we don’t often get what we deserve, we get what we are. The way we treat ourselves set the standard for others to treat us. We need to do something good for ourselves that our future selves will thank us for. We need to recognize the mistake, accept it, learn from it, and move on.
