I was speechless after I watched the mv. It was like it’s short for something great like this, I want to see this in a drama or a movie. the concept is really good. I felt so emotional when Dara runs to embrace him and the guy put his chin to Dara. I felt their longing to one another and all they can do is to hugged each other. It reminds me of Casper, when Casper become a person. For them, time really matters.
I can say, this is really something that 2ne1 can be proud of.
And congrats to Dara, she gave justice to the mv.

this MV pierced my soul. i find it hard to move on after watching this. camping last night was all worth it. this is superb. thank you YG for letting dara shine in this MV. my favorite girl did a great job! i keep watching in awe. her projections are the best! casting her in a drama might be impossible for now but i hope you let her star in a movie soon.
Kudos to the director and to whoever is the perpetrator of this whole concept. the cinematography, colors and the setting of this MV are well done. and the message was well executed.

OMG!!! i can feel dara’s sadness just by looking at the screencaps above.. i almost cry.. i cant imagine what the mv will do to me.. 3 hours to go.. TT.TT
Lol. I have to laugh at the part when Dara first hugged the guy. He lost his balance for a while there. Haha.. The guy is quite cute, though skinny.. He’s got a really nice profile. That’s the part where Dara felt the pain. The part that really hit her. It was raw and it was real. You hardly see this in MV’s esp in Korean MV’s. If you guys have seen a theater play, this is the past where you’ll feel that connection with the character and not the actor.

I like the interpretation of one of the comments on youtube and I’ll add my own… it seems like the guy is long gone, dead or found someone else, but every year (probably her birthday) she gets a wish to come true until the light of the candle goes out. And every year she waits and waits for that day to come, and her wish every time is for the guy to come and be able to hold him until the candle goes out again. It’s very sad.
Dara proves once again that she’s a great actress, too bad (or really not), that they’ll be too busy for preparations for their entry in Japan and the US.

Anyways, Wow! I thought it was only me, but yeah! It does remind me of Tim Burton’s Corpse Bride. I read something on the tumblr which kinda cute regarding the story behind this mv. Dara’s love passed away. She’s been looking at the locket for a very loong time. She let her hair grow since the guy passed away. (just look at the hair) Every year she makes the same wish for her to see the guy. She sees him for a little while when the candle is still light up. Everything disappears when the candle light is out.
Only 2NE1 can really pull off that kind of unique MV. I really love it! Do I foresee Korean drama now for our Dara?!? She gives justice to the song and music video through her acting and facial expressions. Bommie is so awesome with her powerhouse vocals as well as CL and Minzy. The girls stands out with their strong vocals compared to the other K-Pop girl group. After watching the English subs as well so I understand what the song is all about – the guy left her for another one and she’s still hoping that his still there but wishful thinking. The story in the MV did just that while adding a sad, haunting Halloween theme concept and I realized it’s probably YG, CL, Bom and Minzy’s advance birthday gift to Goddess D to play the lead role in the MV since her b-day is just around the corner (Nov 12) plus she really is the one who can pull a good acting skills since she has more experience in that category. 2NE1 fighting!!! ^_^

it was a really lovely mv… how she went back at the old house where she and her loved one used to live with and making herself pretty in order to meet him on his death anniversary while finally lighting up a black candle which enables to bring back the dead for a short time, being able to see him once more, hug him, tell him how she misses him and is lonely without him, begging him to stay… and finally realizing that he can no longer be with her… disappearing right before her very eyes as she awaits for another year awaiting their meeting, keeping a locket that binds them together even when they are apart….

@czen I think the concept is dark and gloomy. It’a about waiting for someone (The one She loves) who would never comeback. That is the purpose of the long bushy hair and the long lit candle. The fact that the candle did not lose it’s light meant that the guy did not come for her. the part where it did is only her imagination… her long wish to come true. The connection??? well that’s what the song is all about. The guys left her for another.
To me i think the story is dara love when away and she then left alone her life all glommy and sad..,look how old the house is they made it look really so you could maybe realize that she waited for him to come back but never did and time goes on she is waiting the more the house get so dirty and how her hair turn to that…she all alone all glommy and sad that he left on the day of her birthday she all alone celebrating it with no one she then imagine the guy to be there and then she realize it was all imagination and she cried again cause she remember the guy how it be with him but no he not there for her no more and she cried and cried and the mv ends with showing the roof.

I was speechless after I watched the mv. It was like it’s short for something great like this, I want to see this in a drama or a movie. the concept is really good. I felt so emotional when Dara runs to embrace him and the guy put his chin to Dara. I felt their longing to one another and all they can do is to hugged each other. It reminds me of Casper, when Casper become a person. For them, time really matters.
I can say, this is really something that 2ne1 can be proud of.

this MV pierced my soul. i find it hard to move on after watching this. camping last night was all worth it. this is superb. thank you YG for letting dara shine in this MV. my favorite girl did a great job! i keep watching in awe. her projections are the best! casting her in a drama might be impossible for now but i hope you let her star in a movie soon.

I like the interpretation of one of the comments on youtube and I’ll add my own… it seems like the guy is long gone, dead or found someone else, but every year (probably her birthday) she gets a wish to come true until the light of the candle goes out. And every year she waits and waits for that day to come, and her wish every time is for the guy to come and be able to hold him until the candle goes out again. It’s very sad.
Dara proves once again that she’s a great actress, too bad (or really not), that they’ll be too busy for preparations for their entry in Japan and the US.

@czen I think the concept is dark and gloomy. It’a about waiting for someone (The one She loves) who would never comeback. That is the purpose of the long bushy hair and the long lit candle. The fact that the candle did not lose it’s light meant that the guy did not come for her. the part where it did is only her imagination… her long wish to come true. The connection??? well that’s what the song is all about. The guys left her for another.

To me i think the story is dara love when away and she then left alone her life all glommy and sad..,look how old the house is they made it look really so you could maybe realize that she waited for him to come back but never did and time goes on she is waiting the more the house get so dirty and how her hair turn to that…she all alone all glommy and sad that he left on the day of her birthday she all alone celebrating it with no one she then imagine the guy to be there and then she realize it was all imagination and she cried again cause she remember the guy how it be with him but no he not there for her no more and she cried and cried and the mv ends with showing the roof.

For my own understanding Dara is one of the Dark forces like a Witch and she had loved a guy who left maybe dead or what because of what she is… she wished for him to come and he appears but in a short period of time… Because of the LOCKET that she’s holding it’s seems that the guys she loves past away
in addition, every year she wishes to see that guy again thru a candle that has been lit. but when the candle lit died, the guy will also be gone 🙂
