Korean pop sensation U-KISS (short for Ubiquitous Korean International Idol Super Star) charmed its way into the hearts of the local media on Friday when the seven-member group expressed desire to collaborate with Filipino artists. The UKISS boys are very much interested in Filipino musicians that one of the members knew the classic Freddie Aguilar song “Anak” and even hummed a few notes of the song the boys called “a very touching story.”
“We would like to collaborate with Filipino artists. It’s one of the things we’re looking forward to with this trip to Manila,” said the members of U-KISS who were here for a couple of SM Mall stops and TV gigs over GMA-7. The boys performed Monday on the pilot telecast of “Party Pilipinas.”
U-KISS is even aware of another Korean celebrity Sandara Park who made a name here in the country and is now successful in her homeland. “Yes, we know her. We would also like to have the opportunity to work with her. That would be an exciting thing for us,” said the group who seem to be very comfortable communicating in English.
When the Manila Bulletin asked U-KISS to define what they wish to share with the Filipino music lovers, they said, “Since our name stands for Ubiquitous Korean International Idol Super Star, we want to reach out to more of the international music market. We want our listeners and audiences to appreciate the kind of fun music we offer. We are a very friendly group with a friend sound to offer.”
U-KISS is composed of Alexander Lee, Kevin, Dong Ho, Eli, Ki Bum, Hyun, and Ki Seob. Back in August 2008, the boy group made their live debut at “The Second Power of Atamix 08,” held in Atami, Japan. UKISS was named “Best New Artist” at the “Asian Song Festival.”
The young boyband appeared on “Party Pilipinas” last Sunday and toured local malls over the weekend. A major Manila concert for UKISS will happen in May or June. The boys have an album out called “U-KISS 1st: Only One.” The CD has 14 tracks including “Without You,” “Bang Bang Bang,” “Dancing Floor,” “OK!,” “Talk To Me,” and “Give It To Me,” among other cuts. The CD is distributed locally by Universal Records.

I loved the fact that U-Kiss is interested on filipino artists and is knows Dara’s success in the Philippines.
They should’ve been in ABS. Way better.

one thing more… PEP (Premiere Entertainment Phil) were the one who brought UKiss in Manila is under negotiations in bringing Big Bang, Wonder Girls, and 2NE1 to the country.
I hope this time PEP would give the advantage to ABSCBN since Dara is a Kapamilya. They should really choose a better media partner.. they have to think twice… coz you know what talking about rating (augh) Though Ukiss appeared in GMA.. still, ABSCBN’s ASAP Xv won over PP 18.5% – 14.5% LOOK!

As for 2ne1 and Bigbang.. yeah they could possibly appear in GMA instead of ABSCBN. Deshi is right coz QTV11 is where 2ne1 tv is airing. And tonight actually they will be featured also in the said station. I think its because MNET media (YG’s music distributor) is the one who partnered with GMA/?QTV11.

earlier this day…ive watched myx…and they showed U-KISS presscon…Eli is the one who said the lines in this article…the Kevin added “she’s very nice and she’s very pretty too…we also know that she is really big here in the Phils.”(the last line is not exactly the words he said but it is closed to what he said)… then Eli spoke again “She’s actually Kevin’s dream girl…” and the people teased him(Kevin)…and he smiled shyly…kekeke…fanboys are really adorable…hahaha…

Yeah, I saw that, too! KEVIN was so adorable-he was actually blushing! I think he did not expect ELI to add that side note-about him crushing on DARA! LOL After the audience started to tease him, there was a permanent smile on his face after that! I think he’s the lead vocalist, right?
