The Korea Online Newspaper gathered two of their editors and asked them about their take on the different stars that they think have the most rising emphasis on the entertainment industry.

Editor Park: The best rookie for me this year would be 2NE1. At first, when they were called the “Female Big Bang,” I was skeptical that YG would market them to ride in Big Bang’s existing popularity. But then, they debuted with “Fire” and they had a really good song. Not to mention that their fashion is also good, and their dancing is not bad. They are really addictive, and they possess that certain something that other groups lack.

Editor Yeo: Yes, they are. CL and Minzy look the same, don’t they? The older members, Dara and Bom look pretty as a doll. But their firm presence on stage makes them very unique, because they possess the stage in a commanding way.
(CL and Minzy are pretty too! Like duh!)
Editor Park: I interviewed Sandara Park one day, and I was surprised that she was too pretty even without make-up on her face. Her features really shine (Fanboy alert!). I guess that the males would look at her for her looks first, but they would be surprised that she has talent too. How about you? Who among CL, Minzy, and Park Bom did you notice?
Editor Yeo: I noticed Sandara Park first too (laughs). But all the members have this aura that attracts attention, and the others gained my attention when 2NE1 TV aired. Park Bom has the powerful voice, Minzy is cute, and CL is a perfectionist in her ways. Sandara Park is talented, pretty and petite (Fanboying much?! >_<) Maybe next year, their first album would be out? They have a lot of big expectations to live up to, and I know they won’t disappoint.

I wish in 2010 all her dreams and aspirations will come true. She is such a good person, friend, daughter, sister and idol and I hope more success for her especially in acting which she is so good at and love.

these are the reason on why i think dara also deserved her spot on 2ne1, coz she is one of the main reason of 2ne1 success and i think YG strategize on these … YG knows dara’s charisma and could get attention in first notice and he knew that dara is popular in another country which is an easy access to get an international fans and if you notice in their fire promotions dara mainly got everyone’s attention because not everyone can pull of a weird looking hair but still look beautiful right …YG knows that sandara could easily get any1’s attention through her beauty (hey you might not admit it but thats how entertainment industry works) then came in talent ….bom is pretty too and very good in singing but have you any1 wonder on why everyone is not talking about her but when they come out its mostly dara…. dara shares a lot of debate issues(may it be good or bad) but hey she got around people buzzing about her group …. then came 2ne1tv and in where other members showcase their charms and talents then peeps shift their attention to the other three, it same goes with these two editors …. to those who said dara should not be part of 2ne1, have you ever think that 2ne1 will be as successful right now if dara was not in it? some may say yes or we never know …but i dont know with you guys, its dara who got me into their group but its the other three that made me stay …. i would totally not know this group if it were not for dara so LIKE IT OR NOT DARA IS THERE TO STAY WITH 2NE1 … so haters criticize all you want but you can never let a hardwork and beautiful person inside and out down ….

I agree with you 100%, I wont even look at 2ne1 if not for Dara. My friends are kind of pissed with me right now because I used to be so active in Ella’s thread and YEH’s thread all because of their dramas. People can deny all they want but Dara pulled alot of ppl to be fans of their group and I think YG knows that. Eventhough Bom was pretty on her own way she doesnt have the charisma. I think even the 3 members knows that Dara does alot for them because everytime they win something CL always hug Dara. Plus Dara take cares of them so much if compare to the other artists or idols they dont give way as much as Dara does. She promotes them in her Me2day, she supports them in their projects eventhough sometimes you can tell that she is really tired. She makes them smile when they are sad and lonely and you can see alot of these in 2NE1tv. One thing that I notice the most is that the Korean media loves her and its really helping the group and her company.
to be honest, im quite surprised with the attention Dara’s been getting not just from the fans but from the korean media as well. im pretty sure when 2NE1 started, YG was banking on Bommie to bring in the fanboys, but lo and behold, it was Dara who did that. she did not even need to wear revealing and sexy clothes to do that. she was just being her natural dorky self and i think that’s the reason why fans, both male and female, and the media loves her. for the most part, it’s actually the international fans who are being highly critical of her, i think korean fans have long accepted her in the group.
Same her @ matsujen. I always thought Bom’s gonna be the ‘eye-candy’ cause she’s sexy and pretty too. But of course I love how Dara’s getting the fanboys and the media attention. Its works for her, 2NE1 and YG’s advantage.
